Chapter 28: Awakening (Part 2/2)

Su Wenli knew that her grandparents and father had failed to secure her a chance to become an apprentice, and instead returned injured and disgraced. Now, people outside were saying bad things about her family.

She threw a tantrum in her room, picking up a notebook she had tricked from Su Xingran and tearing it apart repeatedly. Now she doesn't dare to go out, because people outside point and whisper about her whenever she does.

Some people even maliciously claimed that she instigated her grandparents and parents to cause trouble for her second uncle, and that she wanted to steal her cousin's master. Damn Su Xingran, damn those gossipy villagers.

Wasn't Su Xingran unconscious? It would be best if she never woke up; death would be preferable. Su Wenli cursed fiercely in her heart.

Su Xingran knew none of this, nor did she know that her father had played the role of a scheming woman to protect her reputation.

After eating millet porridge, she walked out of the room. She felt a little weak, probably because she had slept for too long. When she got to the main hall, she saw her mother busy with needlework. She went over and sat down.

"Ranran, why don't you rest in your room a little longer?" Su's mother felt very sorry for her daughter, who looked somewhat weak.

Mom, I've had enough rest after sleeping for a few days and I don't want to lie down anymore. Mom, I'm sorry for making you and Dad worry.

Silly girl, don't say sorry. It's good that you're alright. You really scared your father and me this time. Luckily, your master Uncle Huang was there, otherwise your father and I wouldn't know what to do.

Uncle Huang is really kind. He stayed at home with you all day, taking your pulse, giving you acupuncture, and teaching your father and me how to do it. When you woke up from your coma and fell asleep again, he checked and found that you had fallen asleep from exhaustion. After that, he gave you some instructions before going home.

Oh, right, Uncle Huang prescribed you some medicine. Mom has already started brewing it. She'll bring it to you when it's ready.

Su Xingran sat quietly and listened to her mother finish speaking. Her master was so good to her, and she thought to herself that she should repay her master well in the future!

"Mother," Su Xingran opened her mouth, hesitant to speak. She actually wanted to ask about what happened after she fainted that day, but she didn't know how to bring it up.

Looking at her daughter's expression, how could Su's mother not know what her daughter was thinking?

Ranran, after you fell unconscious that day, your father kicked those people from the old house out. Everyone in the village saw it. But don't worry, your father handled it very well; now everyone outside is talking badly about the old house.

If you run into nosy people afterward and they ask you something, just say you can't remember and forgot, otherwise they'll keep asking you questions. This matter will fade away over time.

Ranran, Mom knows you're suffering and heartbroken, but those things are in the past. Now that you're back, nothing has happened yet. Your father, you, and I are still a family, all together.

We should live in the present and make the most of it. Mom, I can't know the experiences you've kept hidden deep inside. Although you've told me and your father about them, nothing can compare to experiencing them firsthand.

My mother only hopes that my Ranran will grow up safely, healthily, and happily, and that our family will always be together.
