Chapter 51 Qiao Wanyue's Return Home (2/2)

Aunt Peach Blossom sighed, "He defended our country. Don't hold a grudge. It's because of these soldiers who risked their lives that we have such a good life." Aunt Peach Blossom was afraid that Wanyue might harbor resentment.

Couples need to understand each other. Once one party harbors resentment, a rift will form, and once a rift forms, the relationship between husband and wife will decline sharply.

Lu Yunzhou is still a soldier, and such situations will become more frequent in the future. If Wan Yuebu doesn't figure things out on her own, she could easily end up in a dead end.

Aunt Peach wanted her to be more insightful.

Qiao Wanyue smiled and held her hand. "Don't worry, Auntie, I won't blame him. He protects the country, and I take good care of the family at home. We're a win-win situation." She said with a smile.

She patted Qiao Wanyue's hand and said, "That's the right way to think."

She led Qiao Wanyue outside, and the whole family was busy in the yard. Aunt Taohua took the gifts that Qiao Wanyue had brought back into the house, and when she saw the number of gifts, she subconsciously exclaimed in surprise.

"Dad, the Lu family is being far too generous," Aunt Peach Blossom said to her second uncle.

Second Uncle laughed and said, "Just look at Wanyue's rosy complexion when she came back. You can tell that the Lu family has not mistreated her. Take out the three boxes of pastries from my room later and let Wanyue take them back."

He rocked back and forth in his chair, chuckling as he said, "I can't let others look down on my daughter, the Qiao family."

Aunt Peach Blossom wanted to say something. The pastries in her father-in-law's room were bought by her husband through someone in the provincial capital. The old man was getting old and had no other hobbies besides desserts, so his son and grandson asked people everywhere to buy them for him.

It wasn't that she was reluctant to give it to Wanyue; it was just that it wasn't easy for the old lady to get a few boxes of pastries.

"Don't be reluctant, take it." Second Uncle knew exactly what his daughter-in-law was thinking. She was good in every way, except that she was too protective of her own family.

Aunt Peach Blossom reluctantly agreed. She took all the gifts prepared by the Lu family into the old man's room, and took out the better-packaged pastries, placing them in a more hidden place to prevent the children from eating them.

It's called a homecoming visit, but it's really just a family meal.

Second Uncle's family was quite large. Aunt Taohua cooked together with her sisters-in-law and daughters-in-law, while Qiao Wanyue accompanied Second Uncle to play chess and chat in the yard.

At noon, Aunt Peach Blossom called out for lunch.

"Wanyue, eat more." Aunt Taohua's family wasn't wealthy either, and they only made cornbread like ordinary people, but they also made three meat dishes, which they placed in front of Qiao Wanyue and her second uncle.

The children watched longingly, but none of them dared to reach out without an adult's permission.

Qiao Wanyue smiled and handed the plate in front of her to the child, "Eat up."

The children looked at their elders, and only after the elders nodded did the children dare to pick up their chopsticks.

"These kids are such gluttons," the second uncle said with a smile, his tone full of affection.

Qiao Wanyue chimed in, "It's a child's nature."

After the family finished their meal happily, Qiao Wanyue chatted with her second uncle for a while. The old man wanted to take a nap at noon, so he told his family to take good care of Wanyue before returning to his room.

Qiao Wanyue waited until almost the afternoon before suggesting that she go home.

Aunt Peach Blossom took out her father-in-law's dessert. Qiao Wanyue didn't want it, but Aunt Peach Blossom insisted that she take it with her and threw it directly into the car basket. If Qiao Wanyue tried to tear it, she would get angry.

"Okay, Auntie, I want it." She hugged Aunt Peach Blossom.

"Let's go, Auntie will give you a ride." She touched the brand-new bicycle, her eyes overflowing with envy, but she was happy for Wanyue. After suffering for so many years, she had finally seen the light at the end of the tunnel.

She escorted Qiao Wanyue to the door.

Suddenly, a figure rushed over.
