Chapter 255 Going into the Mountains to Pick Mushrooms

Chapter 255

About ten minutes later, Lei Tingjun finished packing and came back upstairs from downstairs.

Knowing that Ji Wanmei was afraid to sleep alone in an unfamiliar environment, he went into the stilted house and lay down next to her again to keep her company.

Lei Tingjun hugged Ji Wanmei from behind.

Ji Wanmei leaned against Lei Tingjun's chest, and this time, she dared not move around in his arms anymore.

She sensed a damp chill emanating from him, and his hair was also slightly damp, probably because he had just rinsed himself with cold water downstairs and the moisture hadn't dried yet.

Even so, his body temperature was still hotter than hers.

Ji Wanmei lay quietly on her side and asked him softly, "Are you... are you alright?"

"It's okay, go to sleep." As long as she stops moving around and testing his willpower.

Because it was so agonizing, Lei Tingjun tightened his arms and pulled her even closer to him.

Ji Wanmei's beautiful figure seemed to be a perfect match for Lei Tingjun's ruggedness.

He embraced her from behind, and she nestled against him with her back to him, her knees bent. His chest and long legs turned to the side, completely covering her.

In this posture, the faint fragrance emanating from Ji Wanmei served as a constant reminder to Lei Tingjun.

How could a bucket of cold well water possibly extinguish the masculinity of a young man in his mid-twenties who loved her so much?

A short while later, Lei Tingjun found himself standing up again, much to his dismay.

Lei Tingjun sighed softly; he knew he wouldn't be getting any sleep tonight.

He took a slight step back, intending to get up again and fetch two more buckets of well water.

Just as Lei Tingjun was about to get up, Ji Wanmei turned around, stretched her small hand out from under the covers, and gently pulled him.

Lei Tingjun paused and turned to look at her.

The candlelight was almost extinguished, and the two gazed at each other quietly for a while inside the bed curtains.

Lei Tingjun gently leaned down and kissed her forehead lightly. "I'm fine, sweetie, go to sleep."

It was just a fleeting, light peck.

Despite the physical torment he was enduring, he still tried his best to endure, restrain himself, and refrain from doing anything to harm her when facing her.

Ji Wanmei's hand, which had been holding his sleeve, slowly moved up his body and touched his face: "Lei Tingjun, are you feeling unwell?"

“…Yes.” Lei Tingjun stared at her calmly.

Emotions churned in his dark eyes, but his gaze remained clear and rational.

“Meimei, I’m a normal man.” Lei Tingjun lowered his eyes, closed them, picked up her hand, and kissed it helplessly. “I love you. Because I love you, my body can’t possibly be unresponsive to you.”

He couldn't control his body's instincts, but he could control his body's behavior.

Even if it's incredibly painful for him, he has to endure it.

He and Meimei are not married yet; she is still in school and is not yet twenty years old.

He will be patient and restrained, and will not cross that line.

"Don't worry, I can handle it, I'll be fine." Lei Tingjun patted Ji Wanmei's head. "Sweetie, you go to sleep first, I'll go downstairs and take a cold shower."

After Lei Tingjun finished speaking, he turned around and prepared to get out of bed.

But Ji Wanmei sat up and came close from behind, wrapping her soft arms around him from behind.

Her soft, gentle voice sounded in his ear: "Let me help you, you don't have to endure it so much."

Lei Tingjun froze, turning back to look at her in disbelief: "Meimei?"

He couldn't believe what he was hearing.

Lei Tingjun swallowed hard, his eyes darting around.

Ji Wanmei pulled him back to lie down, leaned over, and blew out the last half of the candle on the candlestick.

Inside the curtained room, darkness suddenly descended.

There was a soft rustling sound from under the covers.

Lei Tingjun lay stiffly on the bed, breathing rapidly, not daring to move. He didn't know what Ji Wanmei was going to do.

But he didn't dare to touch him.

Ji Wanmei reached her hand under the covers, touched his chest, and felt his heart pounding rapidly beneath his chest.

His heartbeat was loud, and she could hear it clearly in the quiet bed curtains.

Of course, it could also be her own heartbeat.

Ji Wanmei felt a little nervous and also a little shy that was hard to talk about.

But if Lei Tingjun was willing to endure going to the point of rinsing himself in icy well water for her, what's wrong with her doing a little something for him?

Ji Wanmei suppressed the shyness in her heart, bit her lip, closed her eyes, and ran her fingertips down his burning chest.

I could feel his stiff body, and after swimming over him, his muscles immediately tensed up.

"Meimei..." Lei Tingjun called out nervously, swallowing his hoarse voice with a dry throat.

"Don't talk." She buried her head in the crook of his shoulder, her fingertips lightly brushing against his taut abdominal muscles like a feather before sliding down.

Lei Tingjun grunted and his whole body tensed up.

He couldn't help but wrap his arms around Ji Wanmei and hug her tightly.

******

The next morning, when Ji Wanmei woke up, bright sunlight was already streaming through the window of the stilted building.

Lei Tingjun had already gotten up. The side of the blanket where he slept was no longer warm. When he got up, he covered her with the blanket.

He must have been up for quite a while now.

Thinking about what happened last night, Ji Wanmei still couldn't help but blush and feel her heart race.

She sat up, clutching the blanket, touched her burning cheeks, and then picked up her watch to check the time; it was already past 8:40.
