Song Lili was furious. Her resentment suddenly seemed to find an outlet, surging and causing her to lose her temper. She pulled the kitchen knife out from under her leg.
Then, without thinking, he swung the knife, and then heard a soft thud as the knife pierced flesh.
Then came Chu Ci's muffled groan.
Chu Ci hadn't expected that Song Lili would carry a kitchen knife with her, and even more unexpectedly, that she would actually dare to attack someone.
He stared blankly at the blood gushing from his thigh, unable to believe it, his mind reeling.
Song Lili, however, was different.
After she swung the knife, she immediately realized what she had done and calmed down almost instantly.
The first thing she did was to snatch the long sword from Chu Ci's hand.
She had already slashed Chu Ci once, and she absolutely couldn't give him a chance to hurt her, so she had to take his weapon away.
Immediately afterwards, he struggled to stand up, moved away from Chu Ci, and looked at Chu Ci expressionlessly, ignoring the blood flowing from his thigh.
"Hiss..." After a long while, Chu Ci finally took a deep breath and quickly pressed down on the wound.
He glared at her and said, "You little brat, you're really heartless. I was just asking you a question, and you actually slashed me."
Song Lili found it amusing that he, a bandit, would say such things.
Didn't he also kill people himself?
Song Lili completely ignored Chu Ci. Now that Chu Ci was injured, she wasn't worried that he would suddenly attack her.
Chu Ci is too busy tending to her wounds right now.
She endured the pain, gripping the kitchen knife tightly with one hand and carrying Chu Ci's long sword in the other, and casually chose a direction to walk away.
She was afraid there were others behind her, so she didn't bother with Chu Ci.
Enduring the pain, I walked forward step by step with difficulty.
She thought that as long as she could wait until dawn, the bandits would leave and she could go home.
She was still wondering how far it was from home and how long it would take to get there when she heard the sound.
“Lili…”
"Lili, where are you? Lili..."
Suddenly, a faint sound reached Song Lili's ears, making her feel unreal for a moment. Was someone looking for her?
Fearing she might have misheard, I stopped and listened carefully. I did hear a sound, one of which seemed louder.
“Lili…Lili…”
Regardless of who it was, Song Lili was very happy at this moment, because she was afraid that Chu Ci would catch up with her.
Now that someone is coming looking for her, she doesn't need to be afraid anymore.
He immediately shouted happily, "I'm here! I'm here!" Although his voice was hoarse, it could still be heard far.
While running, Zhang Qinghua heard Song Lili's voice coming from the right front, so he immediately turned his feet to the left and ran even faster.
Soon, he saw Song Lili standing there, her hair disheveled and falling over her shoulders, her clothes wrinkled, and her body covered in dry grass clippings.
His face was very pale, even his lips were bloodless, but his eyes were bright and excited as he looked in his direction.
Zhang Qinghua rushed over, his eyes constantly scanning Song Lili. "Are you alright? Are you hurt?"
Seeing the two knives in her hand and the bloodstains on the menu, she was terrified. "Are you hurt? Did you encounter bandits? Are you alright?"
Zhang Qinghua kept repeating these same few sentences, his face full of anxiety.
Seeing his expression, Song Lili laughed instead, squinting her eyes and grimacing, "I'm fine. I just fell and my knee hurts."
He brandished the kitchen knife in his hand again, "I accidentally stabbed someone and then ran away."
Song Lili spoke casually, and Zhang Qinghua didn't bother to ask any questions. When Song Lili said her knees hurt, he immediately squatted down and said, "I'll carry you on my back."
After settling his family in, he heard someone say that the bandits from the Fifth Brigade had chased him up the mountain, and he immediately became extremely worried.
Li Qinghua, who was equally worried, told his family and then made his way through the woods to the Fifth Brigade.
They met many people along the way, but didn't run into Song Lili and the others until they saw Yang Mei. That's when they realized Song Lili had gotten separated from them.
Zhang Qinghua became even more worried. After finding out where they had gotten separated, he ignored Daqing and ran over by himself.
Instead of finding Song Lili, they found Song Fang first. When they asked her questions, she couldn't say a word, and they couldn't get any information out of her.
Zhang Qinghua was anxious, so he could only ask Song Fang to point out where Song Lili had gone, and wait for the answer. He immediately caught up with her.
We rushed and hurried, and finally found it.
