Chapter Nine Nightmare

He was already taciturn and not good at communicating with others, and now, faced with this situation, he probably wouldn't know what to say at all.

Song Lili was so anxious that she paced back and forth, her mind a jumble of thoughts. She couldn't think of a solution, what should she do?

Suddenly, the crowd stirred, and screams and frantic shouts filled Song Lili's ears, making her dizzy and disoriented.

But she couldn't care less about that and rushed to see what had happened. When she saw it, her pupils constricted and her face showed horror.

Suddenly, "Li Qinghua," whose hands were bound, ran into the crowd, crashed into one of the people, pinned him down, and bit him.

Then came the frenzied crowd and the impenetrable encirclement, and Song Lili could no longer see what was happening inside.

She was extremely anxious, but she couldn't get in no matter what she tried. This time, no one pushed her, but she still couldn't get in and could only feel anxious.

Song Lili couldn't hear again. She could only hear for a few seconds, but even those few seconds made her heart feel so cold it felt like it was freezing.

She heard someone shout, "Kill him, kill him, damn it..." but she couldn't hear the rest.

She could hear nothing more, only watching the frenzied people venting their discontent and resentment.

Song Lili suddenly felt terrified. Why had people become like this? The person on the stage was someone many people had watched grow up!

But they didn't care at all; they just roared and went crazy like demons.

Song Lili trembled with fear and cried bitterly, unaware that she had already startled her younger sister, Song Fang, who was sleeping next to her, awake.

Song Fang got up in the dark. She had been woken up by her sister's crying. Without thinking about anything else, she quickly lit the lamp.

Then they saw Song Lili trembling all over, sobbing incessantly, and large tears sliding down her cheeks, eventually soaking the bedding and pillow beneath her.

Song Fang was also trembling with fear. She was terrified to see her sister like this. She looked at Song Lili, who was shaking like a leaf, with horror in her eyes.

Finally, she suddenly burst into tears, crying out, "Big brother... waah... big brother... big sister... boohoo..."

Song Yongren and Song Jianshe, who were sleeping next door, were also startled by Song Fang's crying. They ran out without even putting on their coats and shoes and forcefully pushed open the doors to the two sisters' rooms.

Then I saw Song Fang standing barefoot on the floor of the room, with the light flickering not far from her, as if it was about to go out.

Song Fang cried so hard her whole body trembled, but her eyes were fixed on Song Lili on the kang (a heated brick bed), and she shrank back, which made Song Yongren's heart ache.

He picked Song Fang up in his arms, holding her with one arm and patting her back with the other to calm her down.

Song Jianshe was a step too late and noticed that Song Lili on the kang (a heated brick bed) also seemed to be acting strangely. Her whole body was shaking, and she could be heard sobbing.

Song Jianshe rushed to the kang (a heated brick bed) and saw Song Lili with tears streaming down her face. He was so frightened that he panicked and didn't know what to do.

He called out urgently, "Lili, Lili, what's wrong? Are you feeling unwell? Don't cry, tell your brother, and I'll go get a doctor for you."

But Song Li seemed not to hear her, and continued to sob, her body trembling.

Upon hearing Song Jianshe's words, Song Yongren rushed over with Song Fang in his arms. Seeing Song Lili's condition, he was also very worried.

But he didn't let Song Fang see it; this girl was already timid and sensitive, and he couldn't frighten her any further.

"Fangfang, tell Daddy, did my sister suddenly become like this?"

Song Fang sobbed, her eyes blurry with tears as she stared at Song Lili. She nodded weakly, "Sister suddenly cried..."

It wasn't that Song Lili suddenly cried; it was just that Song Fang was woken up by Song Lili and assumed that Song Lili had suddenly cried.

Upon hearing this, Song Yongren knew that his daughter was having a nightmare, but he was still worried. What exactly did she dream about? Why was she crying so hard?

He put Song Fang on the kang (a heated brick bed), held Song Lili's sweaty hand, and gently and softly called out, "Lili, Lili, don't be afraid, this is just a dream, don't be afraid, don't be afraid."

In her dream, Song Lili couldn't hear what Song Yongren was saying at all. She seemed to be connected with those crazy people, following them wherever they went.

She saw them smash the stage, angrily rush into someone's house, tie people up, and beat them while cursing.

The once peaceful Hongqi Village was turned into a mess by them, and some unfamiliar faces that Song Lili had never seen before were treated like animals.

Make those people live in filthy, drafty houses, put tall hats on them, make them carry wooden signs, and make them kneel down and crawl around like dogs.

Upon witnessing someone finally unable to bear it any longer and committing suicide, Song Lili could no longer hold back and broke down in tears.

The three men in the house were startled by Song Lili's sudden, piercing cries. The panic in Song Fang's eyes made Song Yongren hug her tightly, becoming even more anxious.

Song Lili slowly opened her eyes, her mind still filled with those bloody and cruel scenes.

Those people are so cruel. They are no longer human; they are devils, demons.

Song Lili considered herself a worldly person, but upon closer inspection, she realized just how wonderful her life had been before.

Even though she often hears all sorts of bizarre stories, she has never felt anything so real or so devastated as this time.

She was lost in the images in her mind for a long time, which terrified the others.
