"By the way, Mr. Qi," Wang Shen called out to Qi Huan, snapping out of his reverie. Qi Huan looked at Wang Shen with slight surprise, put down his wine glass, and sat up straighter. "Mr. Qi, I just saw a huge scar on Manager Han's back. It's quite frightening," Wang Shen said casually, revealing his pure curiosity.
"Really? I didn't notice." After hearing Wang Shen's words, Qi Huan's eyes became indifferent, and even her tone was cold, as if she was not interested in the question.
Wang Shen smiled and immediately stopped the conversation, knowing there was no point in continuing to inquire. After a while, Wang Shen suddenly stretched his arms, glanced at everyone, and stood up from his chair. "It's been a while since I exercised. I'll go to the pool to stretch first. You guys chat first." After saying that, Wang Shen smiled at Xu Xiaolin and Qi Huan, then quietly winked at Liang Zichen, and walked towards the pool.
Wang Shen leaped into the pool. He was on the school swimming team, and his graceful, skillful strokes drew applause and cheers from the girls around him. Wang Shen glanced at Han Lin's position and immediately swam faster to his side. Han Lin didn't seem to have found his so-called friend; instead, he was swimming butterfly stroke alone in the pool. Wang Shen swam two laps with Han Lin, then, as if they had agreed beforehand, they all stopped simultaneously.
Han Lin wiped the water from his hair, turned around and looked at Wang Shen with a very surprised expression. "Officer Wang, it's you. Weren't you with our boss?"
Wang Shen smiled at Han Lin. Sure enough, the actor's basic acting skills were quite solid. Wang Shen wasn't stupid either, and said with a smile, "I haven't swum in a long time, so I thought I'd come to the pool to stretch my muscles. I think Manager Han is a swimming expert, how about we swim a few more laps?" Wang Shen gestured as he spoke, indicating a race.
Han Lin smiled and nodded, then watched as the two people in the pool swam back and forth like two fish. Finally, Wang Shen and Han Lin stopped at one side of the pool, it was unclear who had gotten tired first.
"Manager Han must be tired after swimming so many laps. How about we go upstairs for a drink?" Wang Shen said with a smile to Han Lin. Han Lin naturally wouldn't refuse Wang Shen's kindness and nodded with a smile in return.
The two men emerged from the pool, and a waiter thoughtfully brought them two bathrobes. Wang Shen glanced at the empty seats on the platform and deliberately chose a spot away from Qi Huan and the others. Wang Shen sat down first. He beckoned to the waiter, who immediately came over.
"Two glasses of red wine, please," Wang Shen said with a smile. Soon, the waiter brought over two glasses of red wine.
Wang Shen took a sip of red wine, nodded, and said, "Hmm, the red wine here is really good."
“Indeed.” Han Lin also took a bite and replied with a smile. “I didn’t expect Officer Wang to be so refined.”
Wang Shen laughed and said, "Am I really such a rigid person in Manager Han's eyes?"
"No, no," Han Lin immediately waved his hand and replied with a smile.
"By the way, Manager Han, what brings you here today? Shouldn't the weekend be the busiest time for the store?" Wang Shen asked, looking at Han Lin as he brought the rim of his glass to his lips, ready to drink.
"Sigh." Han Lin sighed deeply upon hearing Wang Shen's words. "It's all because of A-Cheng's matter. Those media outlets were just looking for something to report, and now our restaurant has become an internet sensation. Because of this, our business has become dismal, and even some of our regular customers are not coming anymore. I consulted with our General Manager Qi, and his idea is to take advantage of this time to give the employees a break and wait until things calm down before making any further decisions."
"A regular customer?" Wang Shen's eyes widened as he looked at Han Lin, a look of surprise on his face. "Speaking of regular customers, I think of someone."
"Huh? Who are you referring to?" Han Lin asked, a look of confusion on his face.
"Han Mo," Wang Shen replied briefly. After speaking, Wang Shen held his wine glass, pretending to be very casual, but his eyes were fixed on Han Lin's face.
Han Lin's expression suddenly darkened, revealing a barely perceptible chill. However, just as Wang Shen had guessed, Han Lin's smile quickly returned. Han Lin pretended to think for a moment and then said, "Oh! I remember now, it's that famous writer, isn't it? I remember the first time you came to the shop, you were asking about her."
“That’s right. I remember that the person who delivered takeout to Han Mo the night she had the accident was A-Cheng.”
Han Lin couldn't quite control the expression on his face. He nodded awkwardly and replied, "Ah, it seems there is such a thing."
"How much does Manager Han know about Han Mo?"
"Han Mo? I don't have a very strong impression of her." Han Lin smiled helplessly and continued, "Although she is a regular customer of ours, she doesn't come to our store very often. She probably orders delivery most of the time."
"Do you know that Han Mo used to be your CEO Qi's best friend?" Wang Shen didn't intend to change the subject and pressed Han Lin relentlessly, refusing to budge an inch.
"Is she really that close to our CEO Qi?" Han Lin stared at Wang Shen with wide eyes, looking utterly surprised.
"Oh, so you didn't know about their relationship." Wang Shen smiled, finally bringing the glass fully to his lips and pouring the red wine down his throat. After finishing, Wang Shen nodded again, looking quite satisfied.
"By the way, when we were swimming just now, I saw a big scar on Manager Han's back. Did he suffer some kind of injury?" Wang Shen changed the subject, finally bringing up the scar on Han Lin's back.
Han Lin raised an eyebrow slightly, glanced at Wang Shen, and then took a sip of red wine. "This scar on my back..." Han Lin paused, then suddenly laughed. "Sigh, it's all my fault. When my house was being renovated, I wasn't careful, and a piece of glass that wasn't properly installed fell and hit me directly on the back. Now, it's left this long scar that just won't go away; it looks awful." After saying this, Han Lin took another sip of wine.
"Ouch!" Suddenly, Han Lin raised his wrist to look at his watch and exclaimed in surprise. "Officer Wang, look at my memory! I have to go to a meeting with some old employees today to discuss the next phase of the store's reopening. Look, I'm..." As he spoke, Han Lin had already stood up from his chair, looking at Wang Shen with an embarrassed expression.
"It's alright, Manager Han, you can go ahead and get busy. We can contact each other again if needed." Wang Shen smiled, stood up from his chair, shook hands with Han Lin, and watched Han Lin disappear from sight.
Wang Shen finished his glass of red wine and walked towards Liang Zichen's seat. But before he even reached their seats, Qi Huan hurriedly ran past Wang Shen toward the door.
