Chapter Twenty-Seven: It's So Good!

Yi Chenli glanced to the side and saw a round, smiling face carefully packing the food for everyone before handing it to them.

An Yuan'er is very likable, and his previous worries were unnecessary.

Round and chubby, she clearly knows her strengths, what makes her most likable, and she's especially good at getting along with people.

Gradually, the most common thing heard in the school was, "Yuan'er, Yuan'er, let's be friends."

Yi Chenli pursed his lips, clearly displeased.

Although every time Yuan Gun Gun brought delicious food, he would ask him first, and only after he refused would An Yuan'er share it with others. Seeing An Yuan'er laughing so happily with the other children would unleash an uncontrollable surge of emotion within Yi Chenli.

This round, chubby girl with a beautiful smile and a particularly good temper always manages to make Yi Chenli's suppressed and restrained emotions spiral out of control.

Yi Chenli was distracted while reading.

After the sugar-filled shortbread was distributed, somehow it ended up in the hands of the Fifth Prince.

The Fifth Prince looked down on these low-end snacks from the common people the most. But today, for some reason, he casually picked one up and took a bite. This sweet pastry was actually even better than the ones made by the palace chefs.

The Fifth Prince found it delicious and ate several pieces in a row, still wanting more.

However, as the esteemed Fifth Prince, he would never lower himself to ask An Yuan'er for it.

An Yuan'er felt like she was being watched all day.

After repeatedly confirming, they discovered it was the Fifth Prince.

The Fifth Prince was usually the least likely to pay attention to her, so his eager gaze today seemed rather strange.

It wasn't until An Yuan'er discovered that there were several opened paper bags of pastries on the Fifth Prince's desk.

The clever An Yuan'er immediately understood.

The Fifth Prince is the most favored, and if she maintains a good relationship with him, she and Yi Chenli can avoid a lot of trouble at the academy.

An Yuan'er took out the sweet pastry she had saved for herself, walked up to the Fifth Prince, and said with a smile, "Fifth Prince, here you go."

The Fifth Prince was stunned. He was surprised to find that this little girl, who was so good at snowball fights, had a dimple when she smiled, and her eyes were curved, making her very cute.

The Fifth Prince, being arrogant, refused to take it, so An Yuan'er simply left the sugar-filled pastry on his desk and left without saying a word.

The Fifth Prince looked at the pastry and suddenly stood up and said, "An Yuan'er, I never take things from others for nothing. Tomorrow I will return the best lotus seed paste pastry in the palace to you."

An Yuan'er smiled and nodded: "Okay!"

The girl's smile seemed to have a special infectious power. The Fifth Prince was in a good mood and happily twirled his calligraphy brush in his seat.

Yi Chenli gripped the book too tightly, and he tore off a page.

He suddenly realized that An Yuan'er could be kind to everyone, and she could be everyone's friend, but he was not the special one.

Even more so, An Yuan'er could have done even better without him.

Yi Chenli felt that he had been numbed by the chubby and adorable appearance; someone like him didn't need friends.

He put down his book and, somewhat agitated, practiced calligraphy on the rice paper.

His handwriting was originally elegant and bold, but now it was somewhat messy and disorganized, and even he himself realized that he was angry.

Yi Chenli was usually aloof, and his expression was cold and stiff. An Yuan'er returned to her seat and did not notice that Yi Chenli was angry.

As usual, she took Yi Chenli's homework and wanted to make cheat sheets.

But who knew...
