Chapter 24 No abnormalities found
"Miss, the old man has woken up."
Uncle Zhou gently knocked on the door of the Buddhist hall.
When Mingzhu came to her senses, she realized that she had been in the Buddhist temple for a long time.
Her eyes passed over the Buddha statue and she responded, "Okay, Uncle Zhou."
Before I even reached the restaurant, I could hear Mr. Ming's powerful voice coming from afar.
"I'm eating alone, why do I need to prepare so much breakfast?"
Mr. Ming is not a good-tempered person.
He has always been intimidating in front of outsiders without being angry, ruthless and decisive, and no one can help but feel intimidated by him.
Mingzhu had only seen his generous and kind side.
But today is different.
When the servants heard the old man's scolding, they were not afraid at all. Instead, they smiled.
Seeing this, Mr. Ming became even angrier and said with a deliberately stern face, "I'm asking you a question!"
Mingzhu stopped at the restaurant door.
She suddenly became timid and was even afraid to go in.
This feels so much like a dream.
A beautiful dream like a gift from God.
She could even hear her own heartbeat begin to beat harder.
I was afraid that if I wasn't careful, everything in front of me would suddenly disappear.
Mingzhu pinched the palm of her hand hard.
The pain was so real that it made her eyes hot.
The emotions that had just calmed down in the Buddhist temple surged up again.
She lowered her head in a hurry, and a tear fell to the ground.
Uncle Zhou walked into the restaurant before her.
"Old man."
"You arranged this?" Old Master Ming glared at Uncle Zhou. "I think you're becoming more and more extravagant."
Uncle Zhou smiled and nodded: "You will be happy today."
"I'm happy?" Old Master Ming snorted. "If you can't finish it later, you can buy it all for me!"
This master and servant, who have been with each other for decades, always speak casually.
Uncle Zhou agreed with a smile, a smile in the corner of his eyes: "Okay."
As Mr. Ming picked up the chopsticks, he saw a figure coming in from the door.
The chopsticks just stayed in mid-air until he saw who was coming.
"Zhuzhu?" The old man stood up and walked closer in two steps.
"Why did you come back so suddenly? Why didn't you tell Grandpa in advance?"
Mingzhu looked at her grandfather who was tall and straight and walking briskly.
His eyes were red and his throat was sore. He opened his mouth but couldn't say anything. He just stared blankly.
Big tears fell down.
When Mr. Ming saw this scene, he became flustered.
"What's going on? Who bullied you? Tell grandpa and he'll take care of it for you!"
"grandfather..."
After a while, Mingzhu finally spoke with a sob, but she just kept calling this name over and over again.
Old Master Ming's heart ached.
"Don't cry, don't cry, Grandpa is here. Did you get wronged abroad? Tell Grandpa, and I'll have someone take care of it right away."
Mingzhu shook her head slightly.
Seeing this, Mr. Ming felt a tightness in his heart.
It has been many years since I saw Mingzhu cry like this.
The old man gently wiped away the tears on Mingzhu's face with his warm, rough fingers, and his voice became softer.
"Be good, Zhuzhu, tell grandpa, what happened? Who bullied you?"
Mingzhu cried even harder, her thin shoulders trembled uncontrollably, and she almost couldn't breathe.
Old Master Ming hugged her in his arms with heartache.
His broad palm patted her back gently, and his warm body temperature passed through the fabric.
Suddenly, the old man paused in his patting motion.
Mingzhu was surrounded by a strong scent of sandalwood.
You have to stay in the Buddhist temple for a long time to get this infection.
But Mingzhu has never believed these things.
Why did you suddenly come to the Buddhist temple today?
There was a hint of doubt in Mr. Ming's eyes, but his tone was still gentle as he coaxed softly.
"Good girl, don't cry. Tell grandpa what happened?"
Uncle Zhou immediately stepped forward upon seeing this and met Old Man Ming's suddenly fierce gaze.
The master and servant looked at each other without saying anything.
Uncle Zhou already understood what Mr. Ming meant and nodded grimly.
Uncle Zhou left quietly with the servants.
Suddenly, only the grandfather and grandson were left in the huge restaurant.
Old Master Ming looked at Mingzhu's red and swollen eyes, and felt so distressed that he could only temporarily suppress all his questions.
He picked up the blue and white porcelain bowl and personally filled it with a bowl of warm chicken porridge: "Zhuzhu, eat something first, okay?"
Mingzhu nodded obediently and took the spoon handed to her by Mr. Ming.
But after sitting down and eating a few bites, my eyelids began to droop uncontrollably.
She forced herself to stay awake and looked up from time to time to make sure her grandfather was still around.
"Zhuzhu is sleepy?"
Mr. Ming put down his chopsticks and looked at her lovingly.
Mingzhu held the bowl and shook her head: "I'm not sleepy..."
Old Master Ming noticed the uneasiness in Mingzhu's eyes and stood up and said, "Come on, Grandpa will sleep with you for a while."
Mingzhu immediately put down her bowl and chopsticks and followed Mr. Ming closely.
"grandfather..."
She called out softly, with a hint of caution.
Mr. Ming immediately responded: "Hey, Grandpa is here, what does Zhuzhu want to say?"
Mingzhu stopped talking, raised the corner of her mouth, and smiled quietly.
Mr. Ming casually took out a fairy tale book from the bookshelf.
"Is Grandpa busy today?"
Mingzhu lay down obediently, looking at Grandpa Ming eagerly.
Mr. Ming said without hesitation: "No matter how busy you are, my Zhuzhu is more important."
He gently turned the pages of the book, and his heart softened.
Mingzhu rarely shows such a dependent look.
Mr. Ming didn't ask any further questions, but just said softly, "Go to sleep, grandpa will watch over you."
Due to the time difference between home and abroad.
Mingzhu soon fell into a deep sleep.
Mr. Ming gently tucked in the quilt for her, turned off the desk lamp, and quietly left the room.
The door closed gently. Uncle Zhou was already standing outside with his hands hanging down. Seeing the visitor, he bowed respectfully, "Old Master."
Old Master Ming's face was as calm as water, and he strode forward without saying a word.
Uncle Zhou followed closely behind, and the two of them walked into the study one after the other.
"We've checked, and all the bodyguards said that the young lady is doing fine recently." Uncle Zhou placed a stack of documents on the rosewood table.
"The travel records have also been checked and there are no abnormalities."
Mr. Ming opened the document and gently stroked the pages with his fingertips.
Under the light, his face lost the kindness he had when facing Mingzhu.
Revealing the sharpness that only appears in negotiations.
"Nothing unusual?" The old man sneered and slammed the document shut.
"Why is the child crying like that?"
Uncle Zhou lowered his head in silence.
"All those bodyguards have been replaced with new ones." Old Master Ming's voice was cold.
"Let Ah Xin investigate this matter. I want to know who caused Zhu Zhu to suffer injustice."
The Ming family's roots go much deeper than outsiders see.
On the back of this business empire.
They keep a group of people who cannot see the light and are responsible for handling some matters that cannot be put on the table.
"Yes." Uncle Zhou nodded in agreement. "Wait until the young lady wakes up, then you can ask her in person."
Old Master Ming nodded slightly, stood up and walked towards the Buddhist hall.
The old man was about to take the incense, but he saw three newly lit incense sticks in the incense burner.
The incense ash was still warm, obviously it had just been lit.
The old man stared at the curling green smoke, his brows furrowed tighter and tighter.
