Chapter 387 Being Entangled

Chuchu's face was covered with an expression of listening attentively, with a hint of playfulness in her eyes. She whispered, "Master Su, how can I help you?"

Su Rong took a deep breath, and her voice unconsciously softened, with a hint of barely perceptible uneasiness: "Actually, Chuchu, this is what I'm thinking. If you really are... well, not an ordinary 'person', or if you have some unknown special abilities, could you please do me a favor? I have a very close friend who is suffering from severe depression. She always says that she can see some... different things, ghosts and the like, and she has tried to end her life many times. Now, she can't even go to school, and her life is a mess."

Chu Chu heard this, and a gentle arc appeared on the corner of her mouth, but it was also filled with helplessness. "How do I look non-human? How can you tell if I have any special abilities? Honestly, your friend's situation sounds really serious. She needs a professional psychologist to help her. As for me, I'm afraid I can only give you moral support, but I can't provide any practical help."

Su Rong sighed softly, her eyes filled with worry and helplessness about her friend's current situation. "I know this question may seem a bit abrupt, or even like groundless speculation. But I really do have a little unrealistic hope for you. After all, she is so important to me. We have been together for fifteen years, from innocent children to now, and we have been accompanied by each other in every moment of our growth. Seeing her like this, my heart is really broken."

Although Chuchu was hesitant and reluctant to get involved in this complicated situation, she caught a glimpse of despair in Su Rong's eyes. That subtle sense of loss was like a stone dropped into the lake of her heart, stirring up ripples. Finally, she softened her heart and asked softly, "What did the doctor say?"

Su Rong sighed, her tone filled with helplessness and exhaustion. "The doctor said they've tried everything, even bringing in experts from abroad, but she still refuses to accept any treatment, as if she's been trapped by some invisible force."

Chuchu simply said "hmm" after hearing this, but her eyes began to flicker with thought. She pondered for a moment, turned to look at Su Rong, and asked seriously, "So, what do you want me to do? After all, this is not something I can easily solve."

Su Rong's eyes suddenly became firm. He hesitated for a moment, then expressed his thoughts: "I know this sounds unbelievable, but I really think that there may be some kind of supernatural power influencing her. If you can sense those so-called 'evil spirits', I hope you can help her get rid of all this."

Chuchu nodded slightly, understanding. But then she posed a more profound question, trying to get to the bottom of it: "But have you ever thought that sometimes a person is haunted by negative forces because they have some unknown past?"

As soon as these words came out, Su Rong's expression instantly became complicated. He quickly shook his head to deny it, with a bit of urgency in his tone: "No, Chuchu, you completely misunderstood. She is the kindest and most innocent person I have ever met. From childhood to adulthood, her hands have never hurt even an ant, let alone done anything bad."

Seeing Su Rong's resolute attitude, Chu Chu's doubts mostly dissipated. She nodded solemnly and said, "Okay, I'm willing to give it a try. However, I need to meet your friend in person. Maybe I can find a way to help her."

When Su Rong heard this, a grateful smile immediately bloomed on her face, as if she saw the dawn of hope: "Thank you, Chuchu! You are so kind! I will take you to see her now."

Stepping through the carved gate, Su Rong's fingers gently touched the doorbell. The crisp bell sound echoed in the quiet mansion. After a while, the door slowly opened, as if opening the prelude to an unknown story.

Chuchu followed Su Rong closely and stepped into a living room filled with a gloomy atmosphere.

The living room was dimly lit, and every piece of furniture seemed to bear witness to the vicissitudes of time. Then, a middle-aged woman slowly rose from the sofa, her face tinged with a subtle sadness, her eyes revealing deep fatigue. She forced a wry smile, one that held so many unspoken stories. "A-Rong, you're here again. Did you bring your classmates to visit Xiaoyang this time? That's so thoughtful of you." Her gaze lingered briefly on Chuchu, then quickly retracted, as if she couldn't even bear to pay more attention.

Su Rong responded politely: "Auntie, this is Chuchu, my classmate. We are all very concerned about Xiaoyang's situation. Is she... okay recently?" There was a subtle concern and worry in her words.

The woman sighed softly, her voice filled with helplessness. "Her condition is so up and down, it's really distressing. She's rarely lucid, and often confused. I don't know when she'll truly get better. She's in the innermost room on the second floor, you can go up and take a look. But, A'rong, I have something to say, but I'm not sure if I should say it. In the future... you'd better not come here so often. I'm afraid you'll feel bad if you see her."

Su Rong's heart tightened when she heard this, but she didn't know how to respond. She could only nod lightly, "Okay, Auntie, let's go upstairs and see Xiaoyang first."

Chuchu watched all this silently from the side, feeling mixed emotions. She followed Su Rong's footsteps and stepped onto the stairs leading to the second floor, each step seeming to be weighed down by a heavy heart.

The atmosphere on the second floor was even more solemn as they arrived at the innermost room. Su Rong knocked gently on the door, and immediately a heart-pounding roar came from inside, the voice full of despair and struggle.
