Time flies, and another year has passed in the blink of an eye. On the first day of the Lunar New Year, Mu Han packed up his things and prepared to go home. He turned to Wen Cao and asked, "Will you come back with me?" Wen Cao shook his head, his eyes filled with the determination to compete. "I have an important competition after the New Year. I have to stay here and practice hard. I won't go with you this time."

When Mu Han returned home, the house was quiet. Only his mother was picking vegetables in the living room. He changed his shoes and walked over, saying in a relaxed tone, "Mom, where are Dad and Han Yi?"

Mom didn't stop moving her hands and whispered, "They went out for something and said they'd be back later."

After a while, Mom got up and went to the kitchen to cook, and Mu Han followed in to help. The two chatted as they picked vegetables. The pork rib soup in the pot bubbled, its aroma gradually filling the room. Halfway through, the door clicked, and Dad and Han Yi walked in, one after the other. Both wore unconcealed fatigue on their faces, their eyes darkening.

Mu Han went up to them and asked gently, "Where have you been? You look so tired."

Dad avoided his gaze and said vaguely, "Nothing serious, just some company matters."

Seeing that he didn't want to talk any more, Mu Han didn't ask any more questions. At dinner, the dishes on the table were very rich, but there was no laughter or joy. Dad and Han Yi didn't move their chopsticks much, and from time to time they looked at each other, with a frown between their brows. After dinner, the two didn't stay for long and went straight into the study. Before closing the door, they could still hear low conversation coming from inside. Mu Han looked at the closed door, feeling a little uneasy.

He stood up and prepared to go back to his room. As he walked to the door, he saw Lu Zhizhi standing under the street light, his figure stretched out very long. When he saw him come out, his eyes suddenly lit up, and he walked up to him quickly, saying with a tone of grievance: "Hanhan, I've been waiting for you for a long time."

Mu Han's expression was indifferent: "Boss Lu, is there something wrong?"

"I want to have New Year's Eve dinner with you," Lu Zhizhi said in a lower voice, "but you are not at home."

"It's very late, Mr. Lu, please go back." Mu Han said as he was about to open the door, but Lu Zhizhi stretched out his hand to block the door, looking at him with burning eyes.

Mu Hanhan frowned and asked, "Mr. Lu, are you planning to break into a private house?"

"Don't you want to know about your father's company?" Lu Zhizhi's tone suddenly became serious, with a hint of certainty.

Mu Han paused and said, "If anything happens to him, he will tell me. There's no need for you to talk nonsense here."

"Just because he didn't tell you doesn't mean it's okay," Lu Zhizhi smiled softly, "I think your father's company is probably finished."

Mu Han's heart tightened, but his face remained calm: "What happened?"

Lu Zhizhi raised his chin and gestured towards the house: "Let me in, and I'll tell you."

Mu Han hesitated for a moment, then finally moved aside to open the door: "Come in."

As soon as Lu Zhizhi walked into the living room, he saw Wen Cao curled up on the sofa watching TV. When he came in, Wen Cao was stunned for a moment, then stood up and smiled at Mu Han: "Hanhan, I'm going upstairs to sleep first."

"Go ahead." Mu Han nodded in response, watching Wen Cao go upstairs before turning to Lu Zhizhi, "You can tell me now."

Lu Zhizhi didn't rush to speak, but instead looked around. The living room still had the Spring Festival couplets posted before the New Year, and a few unopened gift boxes were piled in the corner, exuding a sense of homely warmth. He retracted his gaze and looked at Mu Han: "Hanhan, why are you so indifferent to me? Am I really that bad?"

Mu Han avoided his gaze and said in a distant tone, "If you have nothing else to do, please go back."

Lu Zhizhi sighed, put away his aggrieved look, and said seriously: "The situation in your father's company is much more serious than you think."

"What's going on?" Mu Han asked.

"Soon, the Mu family will be renamed the Jiang family." Lu Zhizhi said word by word.

Mu Han suddenly looked up, his eyes full of disbelief: "Impossible! I just gave Dad 300 million for turnover a few months ago!"

"Money alone is useless," Lu Zhizhi shook his head. "No one wants to cooperate with Mu's now. The funding chain is broken and the project is suspended. The 300 million is just a drop in the bucket."

Mu Han clenched his hands: "Why should I trust you?"

"You can call your father now to confirm." Lu Zhizhi said calmly.

Mu Han immediately took out his cell phone and dialed. The phone rang for a long time before it was picked up. "Dad, is there something wrong at the company?" He tried to make his voice sound calm.

There was silence on the other end of the phone for a few seconds, and then my father's guilty voice came: "No, nothing happened, don't listen to what outsiders say."

"Really?" Mu Han emphasized, "Dad, I told you last time that you had something to tell me."

Dad sighed heavily on the other end, his voice full of fatigue: "Yes... the company really can't hold on any longer."

Mu Han didn't ask any more questions and quickly hung up the phone, his fingertips trembling slightly. Lu Zhizhi had sat down beside him without him knowing when, his scent lingering faintly. Mu Han was about to speak when Lu Zhizhi suddenly leaned in and pressed his warm lips against his.

Mu Han froze and pushed him away, anger surging in his eyes: "Lu Zhizhi!"

Lu Zhizhi was pushed back two steps, but he was not angry. Instead, he chuckled and said, "It's getting late. I'll leave first." After that, he turned around, closed the door and left.

Mu Han froze in place, and it took him a long time to come to his senses. He turned around and went upstairs as if nothing had happened.

On the other side, Lu Zhizhi got into the car, touched his lips lightly with his fingertips, a triumphant smile in his eyes, and he couldn't help but lower his head to lick it, as if he could still taste the warmth from before.

The next afternoon, Mu Han went straight to his father's company. When he reached the office door, he vaguely heard someone talking inside. One of the voices was Lu Zhizhi. He paused, gently opened the door and walked in.

When Lu Zhizhi saw him come in, he immediately stood up and was about to extend his hand with a smile on his face. Mu Han subconsciously took half a step back, and his hand froze in mid-air, so he had to retract it awkwardly.

"Uncle, I have something to do, so I'll leave first." Lu Zhizhi didn't look at Mu Han again. He said something to Mu Han's father and strode away.

Only the father and son were left in the office. Mu Han sat down on the chair and looked at his father's haggard face: "Dad, what's going on?"

Dad leaned back in his chair dejectedly, his voice hoarse: "It's over, it's completely over now..."

"Is there really no way out?" Mu Han asked.

Dad looked up at him, his eyes full of struggle: "Yes... As long as the Lu and Ji companies are willing to help, we can overcome the difficulties. It was me who invited Mr. Lu to come today."

Mu Han's heart skipped a beat: "What did he say?"

Dad avoided his gaze and said in a voice as low as a mosquito's hum: "He said... He said that as long as you marry him, he will be willing to help us."
