Chapter 269 Half Dead
"Someone went in not long ago." Oakley looked at the broken glass door in the moonlight. There was a fresh handprint on the dusty brass door handle.
Looking inside through the window, the old shop was pitch black and so quiet that it made people feel uneasy.
"Get out of the way." Ye Lin pushed Oakley away and intended to go into the house.
"Hey, you're so fierce," Oakley grabbed Ye Lin back and raised his hand to signal the younger brother behind him to go in first.
He turned around and taught Ye Lin: "How can a boss lead the charge? Wait until they have packed up before going in. There might be a bomb inside."
Ye Lin pushed his arm away nonchalantly: "How dare you be a gangster? You'd better become an urban management officer as soon as possible." He turned around and followed his younger brother into the house.
Furious at being doubted about his abilities, Olik chased after the man and tried to defend himself: "You're inexperienced. Do you know how dangerous our line of work is? If I hadn't been so careful, I'd have been killed. Hey! Troublemaker, do you hear me?"
Oakley and Ye Lin went upstairs one after another. Louis was tied up and thrown aside by his younger brothers. They didn't know whether they should save Vivian who didn't know whether to live or die, and were waiting for the boss to come up and make a decision.
Ye Lin took a big step onto the last few steps, his pupils contracted violently, and Vivian lying in a pool of blood suddenly appeared before his eyes.
"Aunt Wei!" Ye Lin quickly stepped forward to check on Vivian's condition. Seeing that her face was pale and deathly, he was shocked.
Without caring about Louis, Ye Lin pressed his hands on Vivian's bleeding wound, turned around and shouted anxiously to Oakley standing beside him: "What are you all standing there for! Send her to the hospital!"
Outside the emergency room
Several nurses slipped along the wall, holding medical records in their arms, and trotted through the emergency room as if they were avoiding the plague.
Oakley snorted, "Am I that scary?"
After waiting for a long time, seeing that no one agreed with him,
Oakley poked Ye Lin, who was meditating beside him, puzzled. "Brother, I'm not saying anything bad about you, but if she died, she died. You've been mobilizing blood banks and doctors to save her for so long. Isn't she your enemy? Is it worth going to all this trouble?"
"have no idea."
Ye Lin sighed, leaned back in his chair dejectedly, and stared at the hospital floor tiles in a trance.
Ever since he found out that Louis was going to kill Vivian, he was very calm. Apart from being worried that if Vivian died, a lot of evidence would disappear along with her. He had no extra emotions.
But just now, he saw her lying in a pool of blood, not knowing whether she was dead or alive, and he felt inexplicably terrified.
When I came to my senses, I was already in the emergency room.
"Oakley, I don't know what I'm doing."
"She deserved to die, but I..." Ye Lin closed his eyes and clenched his hands into fists at his sides, as if he was enduring something.
After a long while, his clenched fists gradually loosened, and he continued, his voice vague and hollow: "Ever since I can remember, it was Vivian who took care of me. At first, I even thought she was my mother. Later, when I grew up, I found out that she was a nanny."
"My mom was busy running the company, my dad was in Hong Kong all year round, and my aunt was busy traveling and shopping. During those years, Vivian spent more time with me than the three of them combined."
Ye Lin seemed to be talking to Oakley, but also to himself who was confused.
"I know she's a nanny, and taking care of me is just my job, and it's also part of her calculation."
"The calculation is true, and it's also true that he has been taking care of me for more than ten years since I was a cradle."
"Oakley, I want her to live, but I also want her to die on the operating table. Do you understand me?"
The burly Oakley didn't understand what Ye Lin was saying at all. He was completely confused. He pulled the corner of his mouth and asked uncertainly, "So... you want her to be half dead? Vegetative? Half dead?"
Ye Lin was almost suffocated by him and pointed at Oakley: "I'm really talking to a cow."
Giving up on communicating with him, Ye Lin glanced at the operating room, brushed off the dust on his trouser legs from the candy store, stood up and asked Oakley, "Where's Louis?"
In the basement of a nightclub in the downtown area
A man covered in blood was hanging from the beam, his hands were hanging high up, his whole body was raised, and only his toes could touch the ground.
The weight of his body was all placed on his arms, causing tearing pain every minute and every second. After being hung for just an hour, Louis felt that his life was almost over, and it would be better for him to die quickly.
The sound of machinery turning came from outside.
Louis suddenly raised his head and looked at the iron door above that was gradually opening outwards, his heart beating violently.
A pair of exquisitely crafted Italian leather shoes appeared on the steps.
Louis knew the owner of these shoes, it was Ye Lin.
"Dear uncle, how are you?" Ye Lin put one hand in his pocket and walked down the stairs calmly, greeting Louis perfunctorily as before.
He felt extremely relaxed, as if this was not a gloomy and dark basement, but a spacious and bright vaulted living room in the castle.
"You little bastard! Are you crazy? Why did you kidnap me? Let me down immediately! You've gone too far!" Louis shouted as loudly as possible to cover up his uneasy heart.
During this hour, Louis couldn't figure out why Ye Lin suddenly appeared in the candy store.
But he knew that he was most likely exposed, but he didn't know how much of the truth Ye Lin had found out.
Therefore, his best attitude now is to act crazy and stupid, refuse to admit it, and wait for the opportunity to get out.
Ye Lin walked leisurely to the opposite side of Louis, kicked the sofa on the ground, and forced it to change direction.
"Don't worry, I haven't had a chance to have a calm chat with you, uncle. Let's have a chance today."
As he bent down to sit, Ye Lin suddenly remembered something. He looked up and smiled, then said to Louis with an apologetic look on his face, "It's not very convenient for you to hang there, so I won't ask you to sit down. Please feel free to do as you please."
Then he sat down on the sofa, took the menu handed to him by Oakley, and started ordering dinner. They were busy all night and hadn't even had a sip of water.
There was still Vivian's blood on Louis' brow bone, which had long since dried up. Under the dark red blood scar were a pair of gloomy and crazy eyes.
Unable to understand what tricks Ye Lin was playing, he had no choice but to speak up and try his best to excuse himself.
"Angel, I just have a personal grudge against Vivian. Do you really have to team up with outsiders to bring me here because of a servant?"
"What's wrong with you if I kill her? If you have the guts, send me to the police station! Let the law judge me!"
Ye Lin glanced at him mockingly, stopped ordering, and raised the corner of his mouth in a playful arc, mercilessly piercing his little thoughts: "Police station? I thought you weren't afraid, uncle. Why, you, a serial killer, actually want to seek refuge in the police station?"
Seeing that Louis remained silent, Ye Lin leaned forward, narrowed his eyes slightly, and continued to express his disdain for him in a contemptuous tone: "Indeed, for people like you, sometimes iron bars become your shelter."
After finishing speaking, he returned to the sofa and continued to study the menu, while persuading Louis not to worry.
"Don't worry, you'll go to the police station sooner or later..."
After ticking the last dish, he slammed the menu shut with a snap of his bony, pale hands and threw it to the younger brother behind him.
When he looked up again, Ye Lin's smile had completely faded. He said coldly, "Before that, could you please tell me how you killed my mother ten years ago?"
"Think it over first, otherwise, I can't guarantee that you will live to go to the police station."
