Chapter 300: There's no need to check in so frequently

She has been in this city for several years, but she still can't get used to the rain here. It seems to be particularly cold and can seep into the bones.

Standing under the eaves outside the restaurant, Xia Xi recalled the days when she first came to London——

After school, while waiting for the bus outside the school, or working part-time, if it rained, she would always imagine Xu Yanfeng getting out of a car, holding an umbrella, his tall and straight figure appearing before her, raising the umbrella to reveal his handsome face. He would approach her, hold the umbrella over her head, and protect her as she walked into the rain, keeping the wind and rain out of the umbrella, so that she didn't feel the cold at all.

In the end, I found out that it was just an illusion.

Every time I pull myself out of fantasy and return to the real world, I feel a sense of emptiness inside. The huge gap often brings panic, just like walking alone in the desert or sailing alone in a small boat on the vast ocean.

After experiencing this many times, Xia Xi would consciously force herself to stop fantasizing. Once the figure of that person appeared in her mind, she would immediately divert her attention and think about something else.

This didn't work very well, she still thought of him, frequently.

Like an addiction that can't be quit.

In the end, she chose to give in and let it go.

Xia Xi's eyes suddenly felt hot, and she blinked. Looking at the rain in front of her, the corners of her lips curled up slightly. It's really easy for people to reminisce about the past in a familiar environment.

The cell phone rang, half of Xia Xi's depressed mood was driven away. She moved the shopping bag in her right hand to her left hand, reached into the bag, took out the folding umbrella first, tucked it in her arm, and then took out her cell phone to take a look.

It was still Xu Yanfeng calling.

Why hasn't he rested yet?

The shopping bags were very heavy, and it was a bit difficult to carry them with one hand. Xia Xi clamped the phone on her shoulder, and divided some of the things in her left hand into her right hand. She smiled and said, "Why are you calling again? There's no need to check on me so often."

Xu Yanfeng also laughed, his deep, magnetic voice coming over like an electric current: "It's raining, haven't you returned to the hotel yet?"

Xia Xi was startled, and the phone on her shoulder almost fell off. She quickly raised her hand to catch it. Looking at the rain, she was silent for two seconds and asked, "How did you know it was raining in London?"

Did he check the weather in her area?
