Chapter 22 Great Harvest

The next day, after waking up and washing up, the group cooked some leftover dumplings from yesterday, along with two servings of hand-shredded beggar's chicken. After eating, they set off according to their planned route.

Although they tried to avoid areas with high zombie activity along the way, they still encountered quite a few zombies and mutated plants and animals.

Among them, I also encountered some players, some alone, some with their friends, and some in groups of about ten strangers.

They least wanted to encounter this kind of team, just like now, after killing a few zombies, they were entangled by this team of nearly 15 people.

"Hello, my name is Wang Xin. This is my team. I think you guys are pretty good. Do you want to join us?" This guy named Wang Xin spoke very rudely and acted like a boss right from the start.

None of them wanted to pay attention to him, and seeing that the other party was getting increasingly embarrassed, Wen Mofei finally spoke up to ease the tension.

"No need, we have our own team." After Wen Mofei finished speaking, the group didn't intend to linger and turned to leave.

"Stop being so shameless!" A man standing behind Wang Xin cursed.

He could only look at the bald man who had spoken, who was nearly 190 cm tall, almost as tall as Duan Linzhou. His muscles were terrifying, and his clothes looked like they were about to burst.

As the man spoke, he rushed straight towards Lin Hu, reaching out to grab Lin Hu's collar, but was stopped by Duan Linzhou standing to the side.

A faint flame ignited in Duan Linzhou's palm as he gripped the other's arm, burning the other's hand painfully, yet Duan Linzhou didn't let go. Lin Hu, standing to the side, was also a little annoyed. Did he have to have his collar grabbed every single day whenever he met a stranger?

Do you only pick persimmons that look soft?

Lin Hu took out an arrow with anesthesia and stabbed it into the bald man's arm.

"Are you playing house?" The bald man was amused and annoyed because Lin Hu's arrow hadn't penetrated very deep; it just looked like he was putting a lot of force into it. Knowing that the bald man thought Lin Hu was a weakling, he couldn't help but mock him.

"Is that so?" Lin Hu pulled out the arrow, put it back in his backpack, and smiled, but that smile was chilling.

The bald man then realized something was wrong; his vision began to blur and his head started to throb.

While Wang Xin was still looking at them with a smug expression, the bald man suddenly fell straight to the ground.

"What have you done?" Wang Xin pointed at Lin Hu and Duan Linzhou and shouted angrily.

"Why don't you try it and you'll see?" Lin Hu said, smiling at Wang Xin.

"You, you actually killed someone!" Wang Xin sensed danger in Lin Hu's gaze and immediately turned the tables.

"Look, they killed him without hesitation. They'll definitely kill you too. There are only seven of them. Let's strike first."

Wang Xin turned and roared at the people behind him. Many of them, upon hearing his words, appeared ready to fight at any moment, though one or two hesitated. They had been forced to join this group, but with the prospect of profit at their disposal, and seeing that the other party was clean and well-equipped, their eyes hardened, and they prepared to wait for Wang Xin's orders.

"If you're going to fight, then hurry up and don't waste each other's time," Wang Fuqing shouted to the ground, preparing to make his move.

"Let me handle this." Lin Hu reached out and blocked Wang Fuqing's chest. After saying this, he threw an orange at the feet of the group. White smoke instantly rose from under their feet, and everyone inside the smoke panicked and assumed a defensive stance.

Lin Hu and the others were quite far away, and the smoke didn't reach their feet, but since he was the one who threw the smoke, he could see all their movements inside.

Lin Hu took an arrow in his hand and leaped into the smoke.

"Aren't you worried?" Wen Bozhi asked, standing next to Duan Linzhou.

“He knows what he's doing,” Duan Linzhou replied. The two had fought together and were familiar with each other's moves, and he trusted that Lin Hu wouldn't risk his safety.

When the smoke cleared, everyone except Wang Xin was found lying unconscious on the ground with cuts on their bodies. Lin Hu was holding a plastic bag full of crystal cores.

"I've given you the crystal cores, can you let me go now?" Wang Xin lay on the ground, bound like a caterpillar by a rope, still looking at the bandit standing next to him counting the crystal cores with a defiant expression.

"Of course," Lin Hu said, tossing an eyebrow razor on the ground before preparing to leave.

"Let's go," Lin Hu said to the group, leaving them with a parting remark.

"If you're not good at cooking, you need to practice more. With so few crystal cores, it's obvious you're not working hard enough."

"You! You stupid, shameless robber!" Wang Xin cursed angrily.

"Shh, keep your voice down, don't shout, or you'll attract the zombies." Lin Hu was already grinning.

Duan Linzhou, smiling, pulled Lin Hu away to prevent him from getting really angry.

...

During this time, they encountered many people who wanted to recruit them into the team or join them, but they were all rather exclusive and no one accepted new members.

They didn't arrive at their destination until after 5 p.m. The main road was lined with factories on both sides, and the group split up as previously planned.

Lin Hu and Duan Linzhou walked to the gate of the bread factory next door. The gate was blocked by an automatic retractable net. In the security room next door, there was a decomposing corpse wearing a security guard uniform. He was sitting in a swivel chair.

Lin Hu ignored the corpse still wriggling with maggots and flew inside, grabbing Duan Linzhou's waist.

The factory isn't very large. In the middle is a five-story building, which mainly houses the offices of management and clerical staff. On the left, right, and back are five shorter buildings that surround this office building; these five buildings are clearly the factory buildings.

Beyond that was a large area of blue corrugated iron buildings, with many large trucks parked around it, which must have been warehouses.
