Chapter 32 The Next Leader

The car drove directly into the tribal barrier and parked in an open area.

Duan Linzhou and Duan Bohai were the first to emerge from the driver's seat, followed by Wen Mofei and the others.

Lin Hu was the last to step out of the carriage, holding Vanavie's hand in his. His gaze swept over the surrounding houses, where people were still peering at them through the holes in the windows, but this time they were all carrying weapons.

After watching Wen Mofei and the others set up the pot, lit the fire, and put the steamer on, they realized that Wen Mofei and the others had finished cooking.

Lin Hu took out a blue and white speaker used in supermarkets, turned it on, and a voice said "Power on".

"Hello, hello, hello..." Lin Hu tried it out, and after confirming that there was no problem, he read out the prepared speech.

"Listen up, everyone inside! We're here to distribute food. If you want some, come out and line up to get it." After saying that, Lin Hu held the megaphone to Vanavie's mouth.

Because Wanawi had said that the older generation in their tribe didn't speak Chinese, she now had to repeat it in their tribe's language.

After Vanawi repeated it, one person came out of the house first; it was the black man who had shot the arrow earlier.

He was still holding a bow and arrow in his hand, and slowly walked out towards Lin Hu, drawing the bow.

Suddenly, Vanawi spread her arms and blocked Lin Hu's path, saying something to the black man that they couldn't understand.

After hearing Vanawi's words, the black man put down his bow and arrow with some skepticism before approaching her, taking her hand and examining her closely.

He noticed she was wearing the same strange clothes as the group of people, and when he leaned closer to smell them, the scent of modern shampoo and shower gel made him pause.

"What does this taste like?" (in the language of the Varta tribe) the black man asked Wanawi.

"The smell after a bath, Auntie said it's a fragrance," Wanawi replied in Chinese.

Lin Hu frowned. The little girl was clever; when she stopped them earlier, she was clearly speaking their tribal language, but now she wasn't. Clearly, the black man understood her.

"Scent?" the Black man continued to answer in his tribal language.

“Yes, they are all good people,” Vanawi continued, taking a meat bun from her pocket and giving it to the black man.

The black man took it, not knowing what it was, and was about to squeeze it when Vanawi stopped him.

“This is food. I’ve already eaten it, and it’s delicious.” Vanavie gestured for the other person to take a bite and see.

The black man obediently took a bite and was instantly shocked by the food. He looked up at Vanawi, then at the people behind him, and finally at the large pot that was starting to steam.

It was the first time he had ever tasted food that tasted like meat, but it was even more delicious than their roast meat.

"Are you really the gods who bring us food?" the black man asked Lin Hu, but Lin Hu couldn't understand.

"Translate this." Lin Hu patted Vanavie on the shoulder.

"Your brother is asking you, did the gods send us food?" Vanawi translated obediently, as this was also the question she wanted to ask.

They have such delicious food, and they all have skin colors different from theirs, and a gorgeous house that can run.

What are they if not gods?

Lin Hu thought for a moment. Isn't the system now the god of this world? It's the one that issues the missions. It's not wrong to call itself a god.

"I guess so," Lin Hu nodded in agreement.

"Is he your brother? What's his name?" Lin Hu asked.

“Washi, Mother says it’s the most beautiful time when the sun sets,” Wanawi replied with a smile.

"Hmm, not bad." Lin Hu glanced at Wasi, whose strong physique and biceps were almost as thick as his thighs reminded him of the accuracy and strength Wasi had displayed when drawing his bow a few hours ago.

Hmm! He has the air of a leader!

Lin Hu silently gave his assessment in his mind.

"Tell your tribe members to line up for food," Lin Hu said to Wanawei and Wasi after steaming a large pile of buns.

Jiang Qiaomei and Duan Bohai were inside the house, while the others stood guard nearby. If there was any looting, they would use force to deter it.

A group of people cautiously emerged from the earthen houses and slowly approached the steamed bun stall.

"Line up, one person at a time, understand?" Wang Fuqing shouted as he saw the group still moving closer, and some even trying to grab the food after smelling it.

But these people make a living by hunting and stealing other people's food, so they wouldn't listen. As soon as Wang Fuqing reminded them, they swarmed forward.

With a "boom," Duan Linzhou threw a cherry into the crowd.

Someone was injured by the explosion, and blood splattered on those around them. Others were so frightened by the commotion that they covered their heads and crouched on the ground.

Lin Hu had noticed Duan Linzhou holding two cherries early on. After the other man threw them away, Lin Hu took out a megaphone and said, "Everyone, line up properly. Can't you stand one behind the other? If not, you'll end up like him, limping and waiting to die."

After Lin Hu finished speaking, he smiled and reached out to brush his hair, which was hanging down to his chest, back.

Many who understood the explanation had already lined up obediently, while those who didn't understand watched others and waited in line.

“These people are sent by God to help us, so listen to them,” Vashi admonished the group in their tribal language.

Meanwhile, several men in the group had gloomy expressions. After receiving their belongings, they lowered their heads and ran towards the center of the tribe.

When the team had only a few people left, a commotion came from the back of the group.

A black man with a big beard came from the back of the line. Even though there were plenty of paths on both sides of the line, he deliberately pushed the people in the line to the sides from the back, and the thinner ones were pushed to the ground.

"Oh no, it's Vanir!" Vanavie, standing next to Lin Hu, warned.

Upon getting closer, Vanir spotted Lin Hu, who was much thinner than himself.
