Chapter 25 Ultimate Summit Climb
Rong Yi pondered for a moment, then produced two kinds of supplies in his hands. "In my left hand is compressed biscuits. They'll fill you up if you eat them and drink some water. I can give you ten packs. In my right hand is a wound-healing injection. You can choose."
Without hesitation, the boy chose the injection to heal his wounds, without questioning its effectiveness. Then he looked at the ring on Rong Yi's finger and said, "You... someone of your status was thrown to the first floor."
Rong Yi didn't respond to his question, and put away the compressed biscuits. "Tell me about the injection. What kind of injection is it?"
She understands getting weapons and medicine from killing monsters, but the specific mention of injections is noteworthy.
“I’ve never seen it, but my father mentioned it to us. He said that injections can make you stronger, but there are problems with that. Some people get those injections to better deal with monsters, and they do become stronger.”
Did your father receive that kind of injection?
The boy shook his head. "No, my father is worried about us because of the injections. He paused for a moment. "In short, the injections are hard to come by. We mainly rely on guns, but those monsters have very thick skin. It takes a lot of shots to get through them."
Rong Yi rested his elbows on his knees. "Monsters are only released above the thirtieth floor, right?"
"Well, the release time is uncertain, and the layout upstairs is different from here. There are fewer rooms and the corridors are more spacious. There's no requirement to close the doors at dawn there, but you still can't sleep well at night because there's a high probability of monsters appearing at night."
The girl had stopped eating, carefully putting away the remaining sausage, her large, bright eyes blinking as she looked at her brother.
"Aside from the monster drop, there's no need to worry about supplies there. There's plenty of good food and drink, but quite a few people still come down. No matter how many people leave, new people will always come in from outside."
The boy didn't say exactly what he meant: you can come down, but you must hand over your weapons and you can't take them with you.
Back then, he and his sister were still young, and the people upstairs made an exception for him, allowing him to bring weapons down.
After saying this, the boy handed her the booklet he had agreed to. Rong Yi opened it and saw that the boy's father was quite skilled at drawing, and he had drawn the monsters vividly. Every monster in the booklet lived up to its name, with sharp claws and teeth.
There are four types of monsters drawn, and their characteristics and known weaknesses are written next to them. Some monsters are strong in speed, while others are strong in strength.
In addition to these, there is also information about injectables. As mentioned above, there are five known injectables. Each injectable has a percentage marked on its outer shell. The higher the percentage, the better the effect. The minimum is 5%, and so on, with a maximum of 10%.
It seems that the people here are all expendable, but only those above the thirtieth floor are qualified to undergo the experiment.
From this perspective, the entire tower has been selecting the strongest individuals to survive, even those on lower floors who are not qualified to be test subjects.
Of course, while the injections are effective, they also have side effects, such as mutations in certain parts of the body. If you are lucky, the mutation is small and you can still maintain your human form, but if the mutation is severe, you will become neither human nor ghost.
Rong Yi quickly flipped through the booklet and returned the items to the boy. "These are quite useful to me." A box popped out of his palm. "Use them sparingly."
The boy gave her a deep look, quickly took the bullets and stuffed them into his satchel, then left the hut with his sister.

If all goes well, Rong Yi predicts he can reach the 30th floor tomorrow, so he should rest well today.
No one who can survive here is a fool. After Rong Yi made a move once before, everyone around knew that she was not someone to be trifled with, and no one dared to provoke her.
Around 6 p.m., there started to be noise outside. People were arguing about accommodations at this time.
Groups of two or three people hurried past her little house. Rong Yi even saw people pushing, pulling, and shoving each other, picking at people's hair and doing everything they could to get her there.
Of course, many people choose to conserve their strength. It's not the most intense stage yet, and if they exhaust their energy too early, things will get complicated tonight.
Rong Yi held his tablet, oblivious to everything around him, and ate dinner during that time.
Around 10 p.m., gunshots were heard outside.
She put away her tablet, walked to the door and looked outside. This time it wasn't the tearing and ripping that happened in the evening, but a brutal, hand-to-hand fight.
Not far away, a muscular man stood at the door. The person inside obediently bowed and jogged out. The man who ran out saw Rong Yi looking at him. The two looked at each other for a few seconds, and the man was the first to look away.
Not long after, a group of three men and two women headed straight for Rong Yi, with one of them following at the back – the one they had beaten up that afternoon. He had a bandage wrapped around his nose and looked extremely comical.
“It’s her,” the man with the broken nose said, pointing at Rong Yi.
Rong Yi faced the six people and asked, "Want to fight?" To be honest, she was actually looking forward to stretching her muscles.
The woman in the group with double braids sneered, "Fighting? Who's going to play such a low-level game with you?" As she spoke, she drew a pistol from her waist.
Rong Yi lightly touched the ground with his toes, his figure rushing towards her like lightning. He grabbed the woman's gun-wielding hand with both hands and slammed it outwards at the elbow with all his might. The crisp sound of bones cracking echoed, "Ah—!" The woman's rather beautiful face contorted in pain.
Rong Yi took the opportunity to twist her forearm behind her and kicked her in the back of her left knee, causing the woman to kneel down.
Everything happened too fast, less than two seconds later, the woman with long, straight hair next to her reacted, "You fucking..." Before she could finish speaking, she flew out and crashed into the wall, sliding to the ground and unable to catch her breath.
The three men were about to surround him when Rong Yi pushed the kneeling woman aside and put away the weapon he had snatched.
Seeing the fist coming straight at him, Rong Yi reacted quickly and ducked to avoid it. Then another attack came from his right, forcing Rong Yi to retreat a few steps. The strongest man then swung a whip kick at him, which Rong Yi blocked with his arms.
Rong Yi was able to completely block the attack without even moving an inch, which greatly surprised the man who had used the whip kick.
Rong Yi slowly lowered his arms, his eyes fixed on the strongest fighter. He took two steps forward, his fists moving as fast as snakes. The man raised his arms to block, just like Rong Yi had done before. He was unable to retaliate.
The two people beside him wouldn't stand by and watch their companion get beaten up; their fists broke through the resistance and struck Rong Yi directly at the back of the head.
At this moment, Rong Yi seemed to have eyes in the back of his head. He turned around, raised his hand, and blocked the punch with his palm. He then grabbed the other person's fist with his other hand and swung it down like a rope. The shoulder could not withstand the force and dislocated.
"Damn it!" The man felt a sharp pain in his shoulder, and his face was covered in cold sweat.
This wasn't the end. Rong Yi stepped on the back of the man with the dislocated shoulder, leaped high into the air, and delivered a spinning kick. The last man instinctively raised his arm to block, but his arm and head were kicked together, and he was flipped over by the force and fell face-first to the ground.
The man who had blocked the punches with his arms glanced at the horrific battle and, ignoring the pain in his forearms, turned and ran.
As for the one with the broken nose? He's long gone.
Several people in the rooms on both sides craned their necks to see what was happening. Seeing Rong Yi's fierce demeanor, they were glad they hadn't tried to rob her little house.
