Chapter 120 Good Afternoon

Now that all the procedures were completed and the rankings and selections were basically finalized, Jiang Xu glanced ahead and nodded to Gu Li, "We can proceed."

The two stood up, and Jiang Xu said to the three people blocking their way, "Make way."

Hu Bingbing looked at Jiang Xu, "Are you leaving already? It's not over yet." She wanted to chat a little longer.

Jiang Xu only responded with a sound and did not say anything.

Hu Bingbing felt a little embarrassed. He stood up and said to Zhang He and Liu Xian, "They're leaving. Let's let them go."

Liu Xian let Hu Bingbing and Zhang He pass, but when it was Jiang Xu's turn, he turned to the side to shield him.

Jiang Xu walked with ease, while Gu Li watched from behind.

"Ah!" Liu Xian's shout rang out in a suppressed voice, as he was still in the crowd and was trying his best to control himself.

It only attracted a few glances from those around it before they looked away, without drawing much attention.

Jiang Xu spoke calmly, "Oh dear, why are people putting their feet up like that, right in the path someone else is going to walk on?" His gaze turned cold, "Can't you see?"

Liu Xian's foot was still hurting. He wanted to trip Jiang Xu and embarrass him, but Jiang Xu seemed to know this all along and stepped on it directly, even crushing it twice. "You did this on purpose!" he gasped.

Jiang Xu said, "No, I did it on purpose." He said something infuriating, "but you delivered it to me yourself."

Liu Xian glared at Jiang Xu, while Gu Li turned to look at Liu Xian from behind Jiang Xu. He put his hand on Jiang Xu's shoulder. "You won't let me? Jiang Xu is gentler and lighter," he said slowly. "If I were to do it, I'd be more decisive. Want to try?"

Liu Xian withdrew his glare, limped back, and forced a smile, saying, "Fine, I'll let you have it."

Seeing that they were about to leave, Hu Bingbing felt there was no point in staying any longer. "Xiao He, let's go too. It feels like it's almost over."

Liu Xian looked at Hu Bingbing, "Bingbing, are we just leaving like this?"

Hu Bingbing nodded. "I think that's enough. The competition is over, and Zhang He and I are thinking of going shopping."

Liu Xian: "Okay, I can help you carry your things."

Hu Bingbing: "Then thank you."

As Jiang Xu and Gu Li walked out, Manager Zhang came up to them again, "Are you getting ready to leave already?"

Jiang Xu nodded. "That's about it. This arrangement is very good. I'll come back when I ask the students for their opinions on joining."

Suddenly, Manager Zhang seemed to spot something and waved towards a spot, "Ahe, come here, come here."

Zhang He walked over, somewhat surprised, "Dad?"

The person in charge, Zhang, began the introduction: "This is my daughter, Jiang. You two go to the same school. It would be great if we could become friends."

Zhang He was a little surprised. She looked at her father, then at Jiang Xu, and exclaimed, "Dad!"

"Hmm, what's wrong?"

Jiang Xu didn't show anything, but smiled and extended his hand, "Nice to meet you, Miss Zhang."

Zhang He awkwardly shook hands with it, saying in a very soft voice, "Hello."

Jiang Xu only made light contact with the person before letting go. "I still have things to do now, but I think we'll have a chance to become friends later," he said to Zhang He, then looked at the person in charge, "I'll need your help on site."

"It's alright, it's alright, you go ahead and do your work." He said to Jiang Xu with a smile, both of them showing great respect.

Zhang He, who had been reacting to Jiang Xu's words, suddenly seemed to remember something and asked, "Dad, is he really a business partner?"

Manager Zhang lowered his voice, "Don't talk about these things everywhere." After saying that, he looked at Jiang Xu's back, "He really is an outstanding young man." His eyes were full of satisfaction.

Zhang He also looked down at the hand that the young man had held. The young man's movements were very gentle, and his words were distant yet reasonable. She then recalled what the young man had said earlier.

It's my own business.

She always felt that something unclear was slowly emerging, as if she wasn't like this before, and what she should have been like.

Hu Bingbing walked over and hooked her arm around Zhang He's. "What's wrong, Xiao He?" she asked, then smiled at Manager Zhang. "Hello, Uncle. We're going shopping later."

Zhang He suddenly felt she didn't want to go. She wasn't feeling well, so she pulled her hand away from Hu Bingbing's. "Bingbing, I'm not feeling well and can't go," she said, then looked at her father. "Dad, can you take me home to rest later?"

Hu Bingbing reacted quickly, "Oh, I see. It's a pity, but your health is very important. You must go back and get some rest." After she finished speaking, she looked at Liu Xian, "Let's go."

Watching the two figures walk away, Zhang He felt that Hu Bingbing just needed someone to accompany her, whoever it was, whether it was her or Liu Xian.

She wanted to rest and think things through, instead of being controlled and becoming a supporting character in other people's stories time and time again.

Zhao Rangwen stood on the awards stage, looking down at the red certificate. First place was indeed his.

He looked at it carefully, then looked in the direction of Gu Li with a triumphant smile. It was empty!

They left; everyone in that row left.

His gaze swept across the entire area; nothing, nowhere at all. They were really gone.

Why? His smile vanished completely, replaced by disappointment. He had gotten everything he was promised to see, so why did the other person leave?

Zhao Rangwen tried to calm himself down. Something must have happened suddenly. It's nothing serious. He could just tell him next time. The result would be the same anyway.

Standing next to Jiang Xu, Gu Li had no idea what Zhao Rangwen was thinking. He walked casually with Jiang Xu and asked, "Is there anything else?"

Jiang Xu, "Is there something you need?"

Gu Li shook his head. "I've had a completely free day," he said, yawning. "If you're free, how about we go back and rest for a bit?"

Jiang Xu glanced at Gu Li, whose eyes were slightly misty after yawning, and whose corners were a little red. "Now you know you're sleepy?"

Gu Li said, "I thought that would relax my nerves and solve everything. If you say you have something to say, I'll be alert right away." He then went to rub his eyes. "Go ahead and say it."

Jiang Xu stopped Gu Li's hand, "No need to be so energetic, I'm sleepy too, let's go back and rest."

When the two arrived at their front door, Gu Li pulled on the doorframe and said, "Call me when you wake up, let's have dinner together?"

Jiang Xu nodded, "I'll wait for your call. Get some rest, or your dark circles will come back."

Gu Li covered her eyes, "No, absolutely not."

Jiang Xu smiled, "Okay, no, go ahead."

Gu Li lowered his hand and said to Jiang Xu, "Good afternoon," he blinked, "Jiang Xu."

Jiang Xu smiled and said, "Good afternoon." He tapped the doorbell. "You can also just ring the doorbell."

Gu Li: "Wait for me."

The door closed gently, and the corridor returned to tranquility; the afternoon was just right.
