When the siren sounded at the alley entrance, Liu Mingtang flinched and looked towards the alley entrance.
They've finally arrived.
Gu Li's gaze sharpened. He raised his hand to slap the hand that was crooked around his neck, raised his knee to separate the person pressing against him, threw the plastic bag he had been carrying at Liu Mingtang, and finally leaned against the wall, feeling somewhat exhausted.
The moment Jiang Xu rang the alarm, he rushed into the alley. He could barely see the two people who were locked together separate, and heard a "clang" as metal fell to the ground.
He ran toward the person leaning against the wall, the alarm on his phone ringing in the alley.
Realizing the sudden turn of events, Liu Mingtang rummaged through his pocket, pulled out another knife he had prepared, and charged straight at them once again.
Jiang Xu stood in front of Gu Li, grabbed the dagger Liu Mingtang was thrusting at him, and snapped his bones together with a cracking sound.
Liu Mingtang cried out, "Ah!" A piercing pain pounded against his bones; he felt as if his hand was broken.
Jiang Xu really didn't hold back at all; he was aiming to break the person's hand.
The sound of panting returned to the alleyway entrance, and Lü Chao's voice was clear, "Damn it! Which bastard did this?"
The four rushed forward, and Xie Tao kicked Liu Mingtang without hesitation. Jiang Xu released his grip at the right moment, and Liu Mingtang fell to the ground.
The remaining three took turns kicking him, and Gu Li steadied himself before saying, "I'll kick him later; I have something to ask him."
Jiang Xu glanced at Gu Li leaning against the wall, but said nothing. The alley was dark, and the sound of breathing became even clearer.
Gu Li coughed. "Liu Mingtang," he called to the person lying down, "it seems you're quite satisfied with my gift."
Liu Mingtang, panting, struggled to sit up and leaned against the wall behind him. "It really was you, it really was you," he rasped. "I was too slow. I should have just silenced you."
Gu Li, "You think you're innocent, right?" he asked softly, "Then do you remember him, the one you persecuted? Do you remember?"
Liu Mingtang's breathing became more and more rapid. "That matter has nothing to do with us. It's his problem, Shen Heng's own problem!"
Gu Li said, “So you still remember his name.” “It’s a pity you’re not worthy to mention him.” He chuckled softly, “You, you will all have a good ending,” emphasizing “a good ending”, “a good ending just like his.”
Liu Mingtang: "Are you crazy? How could your family let you out? You're insane! You deserve to be locked up for life."
As soon as he said this, Lu Chao and the others who were waiting looked at the panting man as if he were a dead man.
Gu Li shook his head indifferently, his mind a little hazy. "I'm more curious about why the Liu family let you out. You should be like Wang Lang, rotting and stinking."
Liu Mingtang was stunned when she heard Wang Lang's name. "You, what did you do to Wang Lang?"
Gu Li said, "Just as you thought, and besides," he paused, pulling at Liu Mingtang's taut nerves, "you'll be just like him soon, going to hell, you piece of trash."
He paused for a moment, then said, “Chao, call the hospital and tell them he’s gone mad. Lang and Tao, you two, spread the word to the Liu family, under whatever pretext you want.” He turned to look at Ji Hai, “Hai, I think he needs some subtle bloodletting.”
Liu Mingtang's nerves completely collapsed upon hearing Gu Li's words. He had already thought there was no hope left and wanted to drag Gu Li down with him, but he discovered that things could get even darker. "You're the one who's gone mad, you're the one who should be in the hospital! They'll only take you away. Don't even think about running away, Gu Li, don't even think about running away."
Gu Li finished speaking, "But now, it will be you who is taken away, and it will only be you." He gave a cruel look, the darkness concealing his increasingly pale face.
Jiang Xu came to Gu Li's side and held out his hand. "Come on, don't lean against the wall, it's dirty and cold."
Gu Li grasped Jiang Xu's hand. "It's quite cold," he said softly. As he was no longer supported by the wall, he collapsed onto Jiang Xu, burying his head in the crook of Jiang Xu's neck. "It hurts quite a bit," he said, his breath hitting Jiang Xu's neck.
Jiang Xu didn't care about the heat at all; what he cared about more was the obvious dampness on Gu Li's clothes. Summer clothes are thin, and he could clearly feel that Gu Li's clothes were wet.
He raised his hand and touched Gu Li's clothes a few times, then his brows furrowed tightly. He suddenly realized why only her neck was damp.
Jiang Xu's voice lost its usual gentleness. "Hai, just leave it anywhere, it doesn't matter if it's obvious. Chao, call an ambulance immediately." He then softened his voice, "It'll be fine in a bit, the pain will go away soon."
The four men immediately understood what he meant. Xu Lang held back for a long time before finally losing his temper and yelled, "Damn it!" He then went up and kicked Liu Mingtang several times. Xie Tao, seeing that it was enough, pulled Xu Lang back.
"Calm down, let's finish this first." Xie Tao said this, but before Liu Mingtang could recover from the kicks Xu Lang had given him, he kicked him again and nodded to Ji Hai, "Come on, Hai."
Ji Hai was an outstanding medical student. Even though he felt that his interests lay elsewhere, his professional skills remained extremely strong. He nodded, and the dagger in his hand suddenly transformed into a scalpel. "Don't worry, who are they bullying?"
Gu Li's breathing was steady, but her eyelids were drooping.
Jiang Xu panicked when he didn't hear a reply. "Brother Li?" he called out in a low voice.
Gu Li closed his eyes. "I'm just a little tired, just a little bit." He gently took Jiang Xu's wrist in his hand. "Can you blow on it for me? Just a little bit will do."
As Jiang Xu listened to Gu Li's words, he recalled that it was Liu Mingtang in that alley back then, and it was him again today. Some people always like to court death, but let's put all that aside for now. He gently blew on Gu Li's neck, as if afraid that if he was too rough, it would make Gu Li uncomfortable.
Gu Li said, "Magic requires a spell-casting command. You forgot to cast the spell for me, Brother Xu." His voice grew softer and softer, until it sounded like a gentle sigh.
Jiang Xu felt as if his heart was being controlled. Gu Li's voice was very soft, but his heart ached, and even his breathing became disordered. "Blow it, and the pain will fly away." His voice drew out a gentle river, wanting to gently place Gu Li into it. "The magic will take effect immediately."
Gu Li gave a soft hum, "Okay."
Lu Chao gripped his phone anxiously. "It should be soon. Let's go, let's drag this bastard outside and wait for him. We'll just leave when he's done."
He had barely finished speaking when the sound of an ambulance siren came from outside. The group was startled, but immediately realized what was happening and said, "Let's go."
The night was like a calm sea suddenly rippled with huge waves, and the originally relaxed atmosphere became tense and stiff because of the incident.
