Chapter 35 List of Bad Guys

Although the room with the character "天" (tian) and the character "亥" (hai) is the closest to the inside and the view from the window is just average, it is larger and quieter than the other private rooms.

Mu Run was invited by Bai Shalu to sit in the seat of honor facing the door, while he casually sat down two chairs away and then asked the waiter to order twelve of Xiangyuanzhai's most delicious and unique dishes and desserts.

"You really come here often," Mu Run said, observing his practiced way of ordering food.

“Speaking of which, the last time I ate at Xiangyuanzhai was with the chieftain, but this time it's with the chieftain's wife. Fate is truly amazing.” Bai Shalu poured Mu Run a cup of hot tea.

"Fate is truly wondrous." Mu Run's smile carried a hint of languor, her eyes revealing a maturity and worldliness that seemed somewhat incongruous with her appearance. Her slender, supple hands picked up the teacup, swirled the tea, inhaled its aroma, and then set it down.

Bai Shalu watched her movements as she served the tea and smelled its aroma. Her movements were skillful, elegant, and composed, something that couldn't be learned in a short time. "Not to your liking?"

"No, this pot of pear blossom tea has a wonderfully fresh and fragrant aroma, and the tea liquor is a bright yellow-green. It should taste quite good too. However, it's not advisable to drink tea before meals. In fact, most teas are not suitable to drink, as they can affect appetite and might even cause tea intoxication. I was feeling groggy on the boat today because I got drunk while tasting tea last night. I don't want to suffer again just as I'm recovering. Please give me a glass of water instead."

"Tea Drunk, it sounds like you really know a lot about tea." Bai Shalu poured her another cup of warm water.

Mu Run picked up her water glass, took a slow sip, and felt her throat warm up, making her even hungrier.

"If you don't understand tea, how dare you participate in a tea competition? Wouldn't that just be asking for trouble?" Mu Run glanced at the doorway. "When will the food be served?"

Bai Shalu shook the bell on the table. "It should be ready soon. I heard from Liu Lao Er and the others that you're just a country girl, how could you make tea?"

Mu Run replied, "I won't tell you." To be honest, she didn't know how to explain this, so she simply kept quiet.

“You do indeed have a secret.” Bai Shalu laughed, his eyebrows and eyes becoming even more narrow and upturned, his pupils deep and unfathomable.

Mu Run suddenly became wary.

Sure enough, the henchmen of bad guys are also bad guys.

Bai Shalu was unaware that Mu Run had included him on the list of bad guys, and was even thinking about how to continue to extract Mu Run's secrets.

The waiter brought out two dishes first. One was roasted lamb chops, and the other was Buddha Jumps Over the Wall, a specialty of Fujian.

Just smelling these two dishes made Mu Run's mouth water uncontrollably.

The waiter said, "Please enjoy your meal, esteemed guests. The other dishes will be served shortly."

Bai Shalu rewarded him with a piece of silver.

Mu Run picked up his chopsticks and started eating, nodding to Bai Shalu as he ate, indicating that the dish was very good.

After taking a few bites, Bai Shalu put down his chopsticks and watched Mu Run eat. His hands were quick and precise, but his mouth remained quiet while eating, showing great manners.

"May I have a drink?"

"Okay, but don't get drunk and act like a drunkard."

"That shouldn't be the case."

Halfway through the meal, Bai Shalu left the private room.

Finally, after Mu Run finished his meal and drank some digestive soup, Bai Sha Lu returned home late.

"Brother Bai, if you hadn't come back soon, I thought I would have to pay for my own meals," Mu Run said, and she had indeed thought so.

Of course, she ate a lot at the meal, so if she paid for it herself, she wouldn't lose out.

Bai Shalu said, "I just ran into a friend and we chatted briefly."
