Upon arriving home, Ni Sitian tied on an apron and headed to the kitchen to make afternoon snacks.
After a while, Xu Tingchuan walked in, put his arm around Ni Sitian's waist, and accused her aggrievedly, "I feel like you've changed your mind lately. You used to bring soup to my company and care about me, telling me to take care of my health. But you haven't done that in a long time. Do you not love me as much as you used to?"
"What nonsense are you talking about?" Ni Sitian turned around and glared at him, saying, "I've been very busy lately, with the script and Tuantuan's matter. Besides, haven't I been having people deliver things to you?"
“How can what others give be the same as what you give?” Xu Tingchuan was still dissatisfied. “You’ve changed your mind. Now you only care about your son.”
“Tuantuan is your son too, okay? Why are you talking like he’s only mine?” Ni Sitian laughed irritably and said, “Alright, stop being so childish. You’re even competing with the child for his affections. Aren’t you afraid people will laugh at you? I’ll just take him myself next time.”
"Look at you, now you're just giving me the runaround. Don't you love me anymore? It hasn't even been four years, and you're already like this. What will you do if we wait until seven years?" Xu Tingchuan held her tightly and wouldn't let go.
Ni Sitian had no choice but to reply, "Of course I love you, I love you very much, I love you the most, is that alright?"
Xu Tingchuan felt that she was not being sincere and wanted to ask again, but then Tuantuan walked in at some point and stood behind them, saying aggrievedly, "Mommy is lying, Mommy said she loves Tuantuan the most."
Ni Sitian was stunned for a moment, then turned around and saw Tuantuan. He was looking up with tears in his eyes, looking very pitiful, as if she had let him down.
She quickly pried Xu Tingchuan's hand away, squatted down to hug Tuantuan, touched the back of his head, and said, "Of course Mom loves Tuantuan the most. Mom didn't lie to Tuantuan."
"Mom..." Tuantuan hugged her tightly, acting coquettishly.
Xu Tingchuan's jealousy was finally unleashed. She had pushed him away without hesitation, proving that her son was now more important to her than him. He accused her, "You really have changed your mind."
Ni Sitian was at her wits' end when she heard his words. How long were these two going to keep fighting over her?
"Mommy, pudding," Tuantuan pleaded.
"Mom will get it for you right away. Go outside and wait a bit, play with Aunt Qin for a while," Ni Sitian coaxed.
Tuantuan nodded obediently, glanced at Xu Tingchuan before leaving, then wagged its tail and strode out on its short legs.
Xu Tingchuan felt frustrated; he had a feeling that his son's appearance just happened by chance.
"Go out and play with Tuantuan." Ni Sitian nudged him when she saw him standing there motionless.
"I'm not going out. You have to tell me clearly today who you love the most." Xu Tingchuan crossed his arms and stared at her, determined not to give up until he got an answer.
“Of course, my favorite is…” Ni Sitian wanted to coax him, but when she saw that Tuantuan’s little head was not hidden behind the wall, she changed her words and said, “Of course it’s Tuantuan. Isn’t Tuantuan your favorite too? He is the child we had with great difficulty.”
As Ni Sitian spoke, she winked at him, but he seemed not to notice and said, "No, that's not true. You are my favorite, so you can only love me the most. Tuantuan has to be second."
"Daddy's bad, bad daddy." Tuantuan ran in, slapped Xu Tingchuan's thigh, and then hugged Ni Sitian. "Mommy loves Tuantuan the most, you can't take her away."
