Ni Sitian stared at Xu Tingchuan, somewhat lost in thought. Before she could think it through, two police officers walked over.
"Are you Ms. Ni Tianzhen's cousin?" the police officer asked Ni Sitian.
Ni Sitian nodded, looking at them warily, feeling very worried, and nervously gripped Xu Tingchuan's arm.
"We're here to inquire about the fall that occurred between 6:30 and 7:00 this afternoon. Please cooperate and answer a few questions." The officer looked at Ni Sitian and took out paper and pen to take her statement.
Ni Sitian tensed up, afraid of giving the wrong answer and causing trouble for Ni Tianzhen.
Xu Tingchuan felt her grip on his arm tighten, so he took her hand off and held it in his palm, gently kneading and comforting her.
