After leaving the water park, the family drove towards the Shen family villa.
It took about half an hour to arrive, right at the hottest time of day, noon.
"Hello Uncle Shen, hello Aunt Xiang." Little Tuantuan was led into the house by her parents and greeted them very politely.
"Tuantuan, long time no see!" Xiang Zhilan squatted down, patted his head, and asked with a smile, "Did you have fun at the water park today?"
Tuantuan nodded, then turned her gaze to the game area in the living room, where Hengheng and Xiaokui were not present.
Ni Sitian glanced at her son and asked on his behalf, "Where are the children?"
"Hengheng went to his grandparents' house, and Xiaokui is sick and taking a nap upstairs." Xiang Zhilan stood up and smiled, then took the gift bag from Ni Sitian's hand and said, "Why are you being so polite again?"
"It's nothing. It's almost Mid-Autumn Festival, so I made some mooncakes in my spare time." Ni Sitian's job as a screenwriter is now quite stable and going smoothly. She also manages her free time very well and her cooking skills have improved a lot.
"Thank you then." Xiang Zhilan didn't stand on ceremony, put away the gift box, and then looked at Tuantuan, saying, "How about Auntie takes you to see Sister Xiaokui?"
Tuantuan nodded, looking quiet and well-behaved like a little gentleman, a completely different person from the way she argued with Xu Tingchuan.
Ni Sitian smiled to herself, took her son's hand, and was led upstairs by Xiang Zhilan.
Because Xiao Kui was sick, Xiang Zhilan let her sleep on the big bed in the master bedroom.
The little one was covered with a blanket, his cheeks were red, and his little mouth was open as if he was not very comfortable. He looked so pitiful.
"How high is your fever?" Ni Sitian felt sorry for Xiang Zhilan and asked him with concern.
"It's almost gone, it's cooling down." Xiang Zhilan carried the little dumpling to the bed and let him sit next to Xiao Kui. She added, "He doesn't have a stuffy nose or cough. The doctor said it's not the flu. It's probably because of the hot weather. He developed a fever without warning."
“It’s been really hot lately, so we need to be extra careful with the baby.” Ni Sitian glanced at Xiang Zhilan’s belly and added, “You should also be careful, and try to avoid outdoor shoots while you’re pregnant.”
"I want to run away, but someone won't let me," Xiang Zhilan said helplessly. Shen Muzhi now goes to her studio to keep an eye on her all the time, and doesn't allow her to do anything dangerous.
Ni Sitian smiled and saw that Xiao Kui had woken up.
"How are you feeling? Is there anything else that hurts?" Xiang Zhilan touched Xiao Kui's forehead and felt that it wasn't too hot anymore, so she said, "Look, little brother Tuan Tuan came to see you."
Xiao Kui blinked twice, her voice soft and husky: "Tuan Tuan..."
"Let them play, let's go over there and talk." Xiang Zhilan pulled Ni Sitian to sit in the bedroom living room.
Only the two little figures remained on the bed. Although Xiao Kui's fever had subsided, she was still a bit weak, so she wasn't as energetic as usual, talking non-stop to Tuan Tuan.
Tuantuan, who was not talkative by nature, fell into a particularly quiet atmosphere on the bed.
Xiao Kui sat up, leaning against her little pillow, still wanting to talk to Tuan Tuan more. She said in a slightly hoarse voice, "There are so many more children in kindergarten than in early childhood education. I've made some new friends..."
"Don't talk." Tuantuan interrupted her, glaring at her.
Xiao Kui pursed her lips. She had only said one sentence when she asked, "Why is he angry?"
Tuantuan climbed to the head of the bed, poured water from the thermos on the bedside table, then tightened the lid with the straw, touched the temperature with her little hand, felt it was just right, and handed it to Xiaokui.
