The iron-walled room was always brightly lit; it was unclear what method the researchers at the base used to ensure the room never lost power. Without a clock, Ye Xi could only rely on her own biological clock to vaguely gauge the passage of the day. But gradually, the unease within her grew stronger, almost blurring her judgment, and the concept of a biological clock slowly faded away in the perpetually bright room.

Ye Xi dared not fall into a deep sleep, fearing that her instincts regarding the T-virus in her sleep would cause her to do things she couldn't control. However, Ye Xi couldn't show this anxiety on her face, so she restrained her instinctive impulses at all times, which made Ye Xi, who was already suffering from poor sleep, even paler.

Right now, at this moment, she needs the T-virus, she really does. Ye Xi can guarantee that if a zombie appeared in front of her, she would absolutely bite it without hesitation. After a while, if a drop of T-virus undiluted liquid fell on the ground, she would also lick it without hesitation—the urge for the T-virus is as uncontrollable as a drug addiction; this torment can make an unconscious person instantly abandon dignity and reason, just for that little bit of poison.

At first, Leon would come once a day at a set time to check on her and chat with her to alleviate his guilt (←from Ye Xiyu). But for some reason, after he was suddenly called away one day, he never came again. The closed room shut out all news, but Ye Xi, whose consciousness fluctuated between lucidity and confusion, could still instinctively sense that something had happened, and it must have been something serious.

But what does this have to do with Ye Xi, who is suffering from the torment of T-virus addiction? The pain made her almost want to roll around on the bed and roar out, but unfortunately there was a monitor in the room. Ye Xi stubbornly didn't want the person on the other end of the monitor to notice anything, so she could only swallow her anger.

As time passed, the restlessness within Ye Xi grew increasingly uncontrollable, the sensation of thousands of ants gnawing at her internal organs growing stronger, and a strange connection to the T-virus suddenly surfaced. Tormented by the O-virus, Ye Xi lay on the bed, biting her blanket, when she suddenly felt a remedy to relieve the agonizing itching in her southeast—the T-virus! This feeling was so clear, so vivid, that Ye Xi's deprivation only intensified her agony. Had she not been biting the blanket, she probably would have screamed long ago.

This kind of life... these days... when will it end?! Ye Xi suppressed a groan, almost crying. She still had a shred of rationality, no, rather than rationality, it was more like stubbornness, which was why she refused to tell them, to tell those who couldn't wait to make her admit defeat and drag her to do experiments, to tell them she couldn't wait any longer, to tell them she agreed to be researched—as long as she was given the T-virus!

No, Ye Xi, how could you be so spineless?! Ye Xi secretly despised herself. How could she have such thoughts as "not striving for success but fighting for pride"?! She took a deep breath, and this single action made her tremble all over. Soft moans escaped her lips, gradually growing louder, until finally, Ye Xi couldn't hold back anymore—"Ughhhhh!" A pained, inhuman scream pierced the oppressive air in the iron house.

Ye Xi screamed and pounded her fists against the wall repeatedly, until her hands were covered in blood and the hard wall was dented. She didn't stop, seemingly trying to distract herself from her inner pain through self-harm. Suddenly, the tightly closed metal door was flung open, and a flurry of footsteps filled the small room. Five people rushed in, four of them dragging Ye Xi, who was struggling on the bed, off the bed and gripping her arms tightly.

Having not seen her for several days, Leon frowned as he looked at Ye Xi, who was panting heavily with her head down. Her disheveled hair obscured her face, making it impossible for Leon to determine if this was a hoax—after all, Ye Xi was a very clever woman. "Today is the last day. No matter what you've been scheming, it's all in vain," Leon said after a long silence.

Ye Xi didn't speak, only breathing heavily. As her breathing grew louder, it gradually turned into a wild beast's growl, and Leon's expression grew increasingly grim. "Hey, Ye Xi?" he called tentatively, then he saw Ye Xi's heaving body pause, and her drooping head slowly lift up...

A pair of lifeless, dark eyes appeared sinisterly behind the wispy hair, sending a chill down Leon's spine. Instinctively, he drew his gun and pointed it at Ye Xi's head. Almost simultaneously, Ye Xi moved. With incredible strength and speed, she instantly tossed aside the four burly soldiers holding her arms, then leaped up like the wind, appearing before Leon and, under his incredulous gaze, pinning him to the ground.

Ye Xi knelt on Leon's lap, her hands hanging naturally between her legs. If Leon hadn't personally locked her in this room, he would never have believed that this humanoid creature, crouching on him like a wild beast, with disheveled hair obscuring her face, was Ye Xi—the Ye Xi who appeared so gentle and refined!

After crouching on Leon for only two seconds, Ye Xi leaped out of the room and vanished from Leon's sight in a flash. "Damn it... more trouble at a time like this!" Leon immediately scrambled to his feet, grabbed the walkie-talkie, and said sternly, "Red alert! Ye Xi has escaped the room!"

Immediately, alarms blared throughout the entire base...

The piercing alarm instantly cleared Ye Xi's mind. She looked around the unfamiliar corridor, somewhat bewildered. The cold touch of her bare feet told her this wasn't a dream; she really had escaped from that metal room! But… how did I get here? Ye Xi frowned, struggling to raise her hand to tidy her disheveled hair and get a clearer view of her surroundings. She remembered… she must have screamed, attracting Leon and the others… and then? She thought she must have fainted. How did she suddenly end up here? And there weren't any guards around?

Ye Xi couldn't help but shiver, leaning against the wall, panting. Her mind was a complete mess, unable to think straight. Coupled with the fact that she hadn't eaten in a long time due to the inner turmoil and was physically exhausted, Ye Xi felt like she would collapse to the ground at any moment. What was worse, the pain never stopped!

Heavy, light footsteps approached, and Ye Xi immediately looked down into the corridor behind her. Seeing a figure, she cursed under her breath, then forced herself to run forward. What a joke! She'd only been out a short while, and she was already going to be dragged back in?! Ye Xi absolutely refused to accept being thrown back into that cage. Where was the T-virus? In the southwest? Ye Xi's eyes narrowed, and she gritted her teeth, quickening her pace.

Unfortunately, her running speed was no match for the well-trained mercenaries, so she was caught up in no time. "Stop, test subject! If you take another step forward, I'll shoot!" the lead mercenary shouted at Ye Xi, who was struggling in front of him, raising his gun.

Ye Xi froze. She leaned against the wall with her right hand and slowly turned to the side, looking at the dark muzzle of the gun in the man's hand. She smiled bitterly and didn't move. Seeing that Ye Xi had given up, the man lowered his gun slightly and gestured for two of the soldiers beside him to come forward and pull Ye Xi back.

Ye Xi's eyes darkened slightly as she coldly stared at the two soldiers slowly walking towards her. She silently counted to three, then suddenly sprinted forward, quickly turning left along the wall. A burst of bullets followed her, hitting the wall in the process. "Okay, Ye Xi, you can do it!" Ye Xi encouraged herself inwardly as she moved her legs, her eyes lighting up at the open space resembling a central garden at the exit of the corridor ahead. She quickened her pace.

With a park and trees, there would be cover! Thinking this, Ye Xi quickened her pace, unusually ignoring the itch in her heart. However, her speed still couldn't match that of the mercenaries. Although she tried to ignore their approaching footsteps and warnings, the harsh reality forced her to face the fact that she would be caught before reaching the central park!

Just as she was about to despair, a deafening roar erupted, followed by a wave of heat that sent her tumbling forward several times before she came to a stop. What happened?! Clutching her head, Ye Xi nearly lost consciousness again, but she forced herself back to reality. She struggled to her feet, staring blankly at the ruins behind her—an explosion? How could it have suddenly exploded?!

Stunned for several seconds before snapping out of her daze, Ye Xi turned around and found herself in Central Park, swayed by the aftershocks of the explosion. What stunned her even more was the sight of the man in the white shirt sitting on a bench under a large tree in the center of the park—bright blond hair, deep blue eyes, a striking yet ordinary face—who else could it be but An Er, that expressionless guy?!

And... and that expressionless guy actually smiled! Smiled! Smiled! Could anything be more terrifying than this?! Although the smile was fleeting, Ye Xi was certain she wasn't seeing things! She instantly felt her worldview had been turned upside down, or perhaps An Er had been successfully brainwashed by the government, or maybe he'd been possessed and replaced with a different soul!

An Er's clean, fitted white shirt perfectly accentuated his sculpted physique. His long legs were casually crossed, and in his slender hands held… a book! Holy crap, this is completely mind-blowing! This guy, An Er, who exudes a chilling, domineering aura, has suddenly transformed into a refined, artistic figure—how can anyone believe in this world?! Damn it, government, give me back my perfectly normal Uncle An Er!

The dust above is free to use your imagination to depict the feelings of Leaf Girl; feel free to use your imagination as you like.

Perhaps because Ye Xi had stood there in a daze for too long, An Er's expression grew increasingly grim, and his aura grew increasingly oppressive. He closed the book, set it aside, and stood up, his icy gaze sweeping over the group of people who had appeared at the other end with a sinister murderous intent. There were only two paths to reach this central park; one had been blown up, leaving only one. Now, this only path was filled with mercenaries, and a group of people had surrounded the entire park. It seemed that Ye Xi had nowhere to retreat.

"You dare to damage my things like this..." An'er spoke slowly, his deep, magnetic voice seemingly brewing a storm, containing nothing but a chilling killing intent. A powerful sense of oppression instantly spread from him, as if death itself had seized their throats. The terrifying pressure rendered the mercenaries unable to move, unable even to breathe.

His things… Leon, who could still hold on, looked at Ye Xi with a probing gaze. Her eyes were lifeless, her face as pale as if she would die at any moment. Deep dark circles under her eyes were very obvious on her pale face. For some reason, she hadn't eaten for two days, but now she looked like she hadn't eaten for a whole week. Her already small face was sunken, revealing her cheekbones, and her body seemed so fragile that she would collapse with a breath… How could this be… He had only not seen her for three days because he had to deal with an urgent matter…

"It seems you ants are destined to die a terrible death..." An'er said slowly in a low voice, a strange and terrifying smile suddenly appearing on his lips.

Hearing this, Leon frowned, looking at the destroyed corridor opposite, a murderous glint flashing in his eyes: "What happened three days ago, and the explosion just now, were all your doing, weren't they? You went through all that trouble to use Ye Xi to infiltrate, just to steal and destroy?" He asked almost with certainty.

An'er looked at Lyon with disdain, saying nothing, or rather, disdaining to say anything. However, just as the two sides were in a silent stalemate, rhythmic footsteps approached, and everyone couldn't help but turn their attention to the source of the sound.

Ye Xi staggered to An Er, her lifeless eyes now bright and filled with longing. She stood very close to him, ignoring the murderous aura and oppressive atmosphere emanating from him, almost squeezing out all the air between them. Because of the height difference, Ye Xi had to tilt her head back, stand on tiptoe, and reach out to cup his cold cheeks in her hands. Under An Er's deep gaze, she slowly leaned closer to him. At this moment, the distance between their lips was no more than 2 centimeters…

An Er said nothing. His already deep blue eyes grew even more intense, and his hands instantly wrapped around Ye Xi's slender waist. Looking at Ye Xi, he slightly opened her mouth and said softly, "...You look...delicious..."

Then, Ye Xi's little nose twitched, and she gently licked her lips with the tip of her tongue, successfully making An Er's body stiffen, and the large hand gripping her waist tightened. However, Ye Xi seemed unaware of this, and she continued to murmur, "...and it smells...even better..."

As she spoke, she lowered her head, aimed at An'er's neck, and swiftly bit down...

Author's Note: Although Uncle Wei isn't exactly powerful right now, the mutated (emphasis added) T-virus hasn't disappeared from his body; it's just sealed or dormant. So, the starving Ye Xi sensed it, and thus... the final scene unfolded... This means that besides the T-virus, Ye Xi absorbed a new virus, and this virus belongs to Uncle Wei. Tsk, I'm not sure if Ye Xi flirted with or seduced anyone (picking nose). But you can imagine the miserable expression on Ye Xi's face when she learns An Er's true identity and realizes what she did to him in the next chapter. Ye Xi (miserable face): I don't want to take responsibility for you!!! Uncle Wei (coldly glancing at her): No, I'm the one who takes responsibility for you. Dust (rolling around and acting spoiled): You guys have to take responsibility for me, leave a comment! PS: I created a group: 279587825, just add the opening line related to the work~
