Chapter 118 The Person Behind the Scenes (30)

After Cheng Churan got off work in the evening, she found someone standing at the door.

She came out of the company's back door, looked at the man, and asked, "Who are you?"

The man sneered, sizing her up. "I never thought I'd see you again. To be honest, I thought I'd never have the chance in this lifetime. You're their daughter, or someone related to them. After all these years, everyone who knew them must be dead."

Either they've already left this city, or I can no longer find anyone from the past, but meeting you here today is fate between us. You can probably guess who I am, because with your intelligence and wisdom, you can't be completely unaware.

Song Yuwei nodded, "I think I've figured it out now. You're probably the one who's been sending one person after another to harm me. I know you have all sorts of grudges with my parents, but those are between you two. You don't need to project your hatred for them onto me. After all, I have nothing to do with them anymore."

Including your opinion on the matter of repaying debts, I also think it's not like that. Just because I was born into such parents, does that mean I deserve to live like this? That's a completely wrong understanding. Even now, are you really feeling happy doing this?

Your happiness is meaningless, and the price you pay for it is enormous. If the police catch you one day, do you think you'll be allowed to go unpunished? Everything you're doing now is simply a product of a heart you never knew before.

I won't blame you, because I know that when people are particularly resentful of another person, it's very possible for them to do some extreme things. But since you're capable of doing it, don't be afraid of others finding out.

If you intend to continue this stalemate with me, sending one person after another over, then you may not get what you want. Because I believe you can see from our interactions these past few days that I am not as easy to bully as you think, so you may be very disappointed.

After all, you spent so much effort and hired so many people, only to see me unharmed. This wasn't your original intention. And everything changes, just like you standing here now, completely different from who you used to be. Perhaps you were once involved in business competition.

You've been forced to endure many things that others can't understand, and a lot of suffering has fallen on you, so you feel that these things are unacceptable, and you blame everything on others. Such behavior is actually very foolish.

Of course, I have no right to judge you, and I have no need to judge you at all. When you want to judge someone, it is actually your inner self trying to strengthen that false self. When you judge what others do, it will make your so-called real self in your heart become stronger and stronger.

But will you really be happy doing this? The happiness you maintain is only temporary, fleeting, and cannot last. Including all the choices you are facing now, in the end, they can all vanish like a dream. Isn't life just a game, or a movie?

You care so much, but in the end you can't get what you want. But is it really that important whether you get what you want or not? I don't think so.

Even if you get what you want, things in this space are constantly changing. Nothing here is permanent; everything you can see will eventually change for various reasons.

If you cling to these changes, you will suffer greatly. Your sense of self comes entirely from this inability to recognize yourself. What you cling to is never real; it is merely a fantasy that changes at any moment.

It's like a glass of water. This glass of water is right in front of you, but do you think it has been here for thousands of years? Or will it still exist thousands of years from now? No, it's not. In fact, as long as you are thirsty, you will drink this glass of water. The reason this glass of water is in front of you is because you need it.

This glass of water will eventually disappear, no matter what method or behavior you use. Even if you don't drink a drop, in time it will still turn into nothing.

Therefore, if you cling to this glass of water, the suffering you can experience is limitless, because even if you eventually finish drinking the water, the image of that glass of water will continue to circulate in your mind.

And the pain it brings you keeps cycling. That's why people should live in the present moment. If you don't live in the present, your mind will be filled with thoughts about the past or the future, which are actually meaningless.

You are wasting your present moment, and your mind is constantly looping through this pain. You gain a false sense of self-identity from this pain, thinking that the pain can prove your existence. But in reality, you already exist, and you don't need anything, any experience, any memory, or any person to prove that you exist.

If you develop this desire for others or external things to prove your existence in this world, then your suffering will be endless, because you can't control anything outside of yourself; these things are beyond your control.

Everything is unknown, and if you cling to these uncertainties, the suffering you experience will be unimaginable. Many people will never understand why they are suffering so much; they will only blame themselves.

You might experience these things, you might meet these kinds of people, but in reality, if this person doesn't exist in the present moment and has no connection with you whatsoever, then they never truly existed. It's like having a dream, even if it's a terrifying dream, a nightmare.

But in reality, once you wake up, it means nothing. It has no impact on your true nature whatsoever; it's just a dream, an illusion. Once you're awake, it ceases to exist, so there's no need to be so attached to it.
