"I want you to help me kill Mullie."
Hicks narrowed his eyes slightly as he looked at Tiffany. "Now?"
He remembered that in his previous life, Muli was not targeted by them, and even when he died, Muli was imprisoned in the palace.
He didn't know if Tiffany had killed Murray in his previous life, but based on his understanding of her, she would never allow the bloodline of the previous king to remain in the world.
“Now.” The woman’s affirmative tone brought him back to his senses.
He did not respond, his eyelashes lowered and his eyes unreadable.
Is the reason he killed Mullie now because something about him has changed, or...?
Hicks looked up and stared coldly at Tiff.
She was reborn too.
No, if she were reborn, she wouldn't be killing Murray now, but Tiffany. After all, when this organization infiltrated the palace, they gave Tiffany an opportunity to kill the king and frame them.
Tiff watched calmly as Hicks lowered her head, then looked at herself with suspicion, as if she had thought of something.
I cursed him in my mind, then smiled and gestured for him to speak plainly.
"Why?" Hicks asked sharply, "Why kill him now?"
Tiff frowned slightly. What did he mean by "why now"? His tone made it sound as if she shouldn't be killing Murray now.
Seeing her puzzled look, Hicks agreed without waiting for her answer, then turned and left.
Tiff stared at the swaying door, a kind smile spreading across her face.
She wondered if Hicks would really kill Murray. If Murray were really dead, that would be much more interesting.

A meeting has just ended. Every November, envoys from other countries come to the Inolier Empire for cultural exchanges. In the past, it was always the envoys who came. This year is different. This year, Princess Mira, the crown princess of the Augusia Empire, has also come. The king has entrusted this matter to Duke Ferran for arrangement.
Ever since Ferrand's son died, Tiffany has always felt the Duke Ferrand's sinister gaze upon her at every meeting, but she has always ignored it.
Duke Ferrand didn't leave the palace until the meeting ended, when a voice he loathed called out to him.
It's Tiffany.
The woman frowned, her face full of worry, but her eyes held an undisguised smugness and ruthlessness.
She raised her hand and patted Ferrand on the shoulder. "Ferran, I heard about what happened to Luke, and I feel sad for you."
“But Ferrand, you can’t take that kind of attitude out on me. You look at me with such malice at every meeting. Anyone who didn’t know better would think I killed Luke.”
Tiff wasn't lying; it really wasn't her doing it herself.
"Tiffany! You've gone too far!" Ferrand shoved her hand away from his shoulder.
She seemed to still have some sense; Tiffany's eyes flickered slightly.
Seeing Ferrand staring intently at him, he curled his lips into a smile before quickly suppressing it. "I know you suspect that Luke's death is related to me, but am I really that capable of bypassing the Duke's guards, sneaking into your residence, and killing Luke?"
“I know you’re suspicious of everything because of Luke’s death, but even if I had a conflict with you or Luke, it was wiped clean when I blinded him.”
"How could I possibly kill him? We have no other conflicts, and besides, do you think I would be so cruel?"
Ferrand stared at her, his eyes bulging as if they were about to pop out, his breathing becoming increasingly labored, his body trembling slightly, but he didn't say a word, only pointed at her with his finger, then shoved Tiffany aside and got into the carriage.
Tiffany knew he was angry, and that made things easier; it would make him act against her quickly, and the cultural exchange in November would be the perfect opportunity.
