Chapter Twenty-Three: School Ghost Stories 23

Chapter Twenty-Three: School Ghost Stories 23

The night was as deep and still as a pool of water.

Lu Cen couldn't understand Xiang Ming's current situation. If you said he was a human, he was already dead; if you said he was a ghost, he was just like a human, able to speak and think. Apart from possessing mysterious powers, he was no different from a human.

He couldn't help but wonder, do all dead people feel this way?

Then why did the others die without possessing the same power?

Xiang Ming was just an ordinary student before he died. There's no reason why he would become powerful after death. There must be other reasons, but Lu Cen didn't discover them.

He glanced at Xiang Ming every now and then, and Xiang Ming's lips twitched: "What are you looking at?"

"No, I was just curious." Lu Cen had also learned to throw out a pretext before revealing her true purpose: "Weren't you afraid when you were pushed down?"

"Afraid?" Xiang Ming scoffed. "Afraid of what? Afraid of falling and getting bloodied and mangled?"

Lu Cen said earnestly, "I'm afraid of dying. If I die, I'll have nothing left."

Xiang Ming's eyes turned cold: "I was scared, so I had Yan Shanting come to keep me company."

Lu Cen felt a chill in his heart.

"It's better to live life to the fullest for a short while than to drift aimlessly through a long period of time."

When he said this, his expression was strikingly similar to Su Yi'an's. Lu Cen said, "You and Su Yi'an are so alike. He said something similar too."

Xiang Ming's lips curled into a cold smile as he said, "He's not worthy."

"You hate him?" Lu Cen asked, puzzled. "Don't you like him?"

"Huh?" Xiang Ming was speechless. "I like him. Do you think that's possible?"

"You said it yourself."

Xiang Ming remained silent for a long time, finding it rare that he shared the same thought as Su Yi'an: How did this person live to be so old? So simple that one could see right through him.

Such a person will not live long in this world.

He said, "So naive, believing everything others say. Use your brain."

Lu Cen had been bombarded with questions all along and was too lazy to get angry: "Do you like Su Yi'an?"

Xiang Ming said decisively, "I don't like it."

Lu Cen exposed his lie, saying, "If you don't like him, why don't you kill him? Why are you still hanging around in front of him? Isn't it just to attract his attention?"

Xiang Ming's expression turned cold. His gaze fell on Balabala's mouth, and for some unknown reason, he blurted out, "Let me kiss you and I'll tell you."

Lu Cen was stunned for a moment: "You don't like me, so why do you keep trying to kiss me?"

"If you like kissing, then kiss. Why ask so many questions?"

"Oh, you kissed Su Yi'an too?"

Xiang Ming's expression went blank for a moment, stunned by the scene: "He's so ugly, I'm not interested in him. But I'd be a little more enthusiastic about you."

Just then, the phone, which had been silent for a long time, rang.

"Hello?"

"There?"

"In the classroom."

Not knowing what the other person said, Lu Cen glanced at Xiang Ming and said inside, "It's nothing."

He spoke gently to Su Yi'an, but Xiang Ming felt a pang of jealousy: "What, you like Su Yi'an?"

"Just friends."

Xiang Ming remained noncommittal: "Come here."

"What are you doing?"

"Come here when I tell you to." Xiang Ming grabbed his wrist and said mockingly, "Do you want Su Yi'an to die?"

"Huh?" Lu Cen looked confused for a moment, then shook his head and said, "I don't want to."

"If he doesn't die, then you will." Xiang Ming said, "Choose now."

The other party is capricious, doing whatever comes to mind. One second they are as gentle as jade, the next they are like a cannon, not only blasting themselves but also others.

"I won't choose."

"Reluctant to part with it?" Xiang Ming pressed aggressively.

They were people in the game, but Lu Cen wasn't. He had no idea whether these people were real or fake. Regardless of whether they were real or fake, his experience wasn't fake.

"Why must one die? Isn't it better to live?" Lu Cen didn't want to die even a fraction of a second. Living, one could experience anything; dying, one would lie buried underground, and eventually, he would disappear into the long river of history.

When he said this, his eyes were bright, moist, innocent, and longing. From Xiang Ming's angle, you could see Lu Cen's jawline. He looked different from ordinary people. He had delicate eyebrows and eyes, slightly thick lips, soft lips, and smooth skin. He could attract everyone's attention just by standing there.

Her arms were thin and slender.

Lu Cen broke Xiang Ming's silence with a question: "Do you want to leave first?"

The other person chuckled in exasperation and said lazily, "Why should I leave?"

“Su Yi’an is coming,” Lu Cen said bluntly. “I’m afraid you’ll start fighting.”

"No."

Lu Cen looked at him suspiciously.

Not long after, Lu Cen understood what "not hitting" meant.

Seeing Su Yi'an approaching from afar, Xiang Ming pulled him into the classroom.

Just as Lu Cen was wondering what was going on, Xiang Ming suddenly hugged him from behind, resting his chin on the top of his head.

Separated by a door, Lu Cen faced the wall, with a warm body pressed against him from behind.

Fine, intimate kisses landed one after another on his neck and shoulders, leaving wet marks. His collar was wide open, and a thin red stain spread. The old marks had not yet faded when new ones appeared.

The doorknob is right next to me; I can reach it and grab it.

Xiang Ming leaned close to his ear: "Do you still have the strength to open the door? Or do you want him to come in and see what I did to you..." Lu Cen selectively forgot the rest of what he said.

"Or perhaps, you enjoy being watched by others?"

Su Yi'an roughly knew what was happening inside, but she just stood quietly in front of the door without making any move. The situation between the outside and the inside remained at a standstill. After a long time, there was a soft sound from the window, and Lu Cen knew what that noise was.

Sure enough, the person behind them stopped moving.

"He's like a persistent ghost." Xiang Ming gently placed Lu Cen on the table. Lu Cen was extremely embarrassed and didn't dare to look at Su Yi'an or Xiang Ming.

Su Yi'an was in a worse state than Xiang Ming. Her hair was disheveled, her school uniform was stained in several places, one eye was bruised, and there was a cut on her arm that was still bleeding.

I don't know what he went through.

“Just a while ago he told me that he couldn’t live without me,” Su Yi’an’s expression was always so indifferent: “How long has it been and he’s already hooking up with someone else?”

"Don't make it sound so serious." Xiang Ming quickly contradicted himself, saying, "When have I ever liked you? Don't try to make yourself look good."

Lu Cen listened intently, pricking up his ears.
