"We will have to keep you until we decide on what to do." Karena said. "You know how this works, right?"
Ava nodded.
"You should know, after all you put a lot of people in that prison too."
Again, Ava nodded.
"That would be very dangerous V."
Ava said nothing.
"I always thought that you would not let yourself get taken here. I thought you would at least put up a fight." Karena sighed. "It will become more dangerous from now on."
To Karena’s surprise Ava smiled. freēwēbnovel.com
"Right."
"Aren’t you going to say anything?"
"Give me the deputy." Ava said.
"What?"
"I want to talk to the deputy."
"You can’t just— "
"Hybrids."
"What?"
"Other elders are using hybrids. They are experimenting on humans."
"What?" Surprise flashed in Karena’s face.
"Give me the deputy and I will give you the complete information."
"You—" Karena frowned. "You mean... you have proof of this?"
Ava shook her head. "No I don’t."
"Then? V, this accusations— I don’t think— "
"Just tell the deputy. I am sure he would at least listen to what I have to say, right?"
Karena gave her an intense gaze.
"V, you can’t just come here and accuse the elders. These accusations are serious. If you don’t have proof..."
"So you are not going to give me the deputy?"
Karena shook her head.
"I want to know if you have proof."
"And if I do?" Ava smiled.
"Then you have to give it to me so— "
"So you can give it to the elders?"
"V..."
"Pfftt.... Look at your face Karena. You look like you’ve seen a ghost."
"I don’t understand."
"Give me the deputy and I will give him my proof."
"You know very well that I can’t do that," Karena sighed. "The deputy isn’t just someone that you could talk to if you have complains. We need to follow proper chain of command and— "
"So you just want me to release my proof to the internet." Ava nodded. "Alright..."
"Wait— what?"
"You think I’m alone, right? A helpless sheep ready to be devoured by the wolf?"
"V, I don’t think this is necessary."
"Of course it’s not." Ava suddenly got up. "We don’t need all this."
"V?"
Ava leaned forward. "I know you work for them, Karena. So you can cut the bullshit. Sending me inside that prison so you can try and silently kill me. Make it quick Karena, my patience is running out."
"V..."
"But let me tell you. One image about the hybrids will be release every four hours... " Again Ava looked at her watch. "You have about less than an hour to choose. You can have me killed or find the deputy. Your choice."
"You— What are you talking about?"
"Your choice K." Ava smiled. "But you have to make it quick. You wouldn’t want the world to know about the hybrids, right?"
"You— You are going to reveal their existence? If that happens humans would surely ask and the world of supernatural— "
"Do you really think a witch without a coven, who had never been baptized and was betrayed by Trillium would care? I mean... do you think I’m stupid or something?"
Karena gritted her teeth, her expression got uglier as the minute passed by.
"Your turn to make your move, Karena." With that, Ava sat back down. "I am waiting."
"You really think too highly of yourself, V." Suddenly, Karena’s face relaxed. "If the Organization could be threatened by something like this, do you think they would exist until this day?"
Ava chose not to answer. She crossed her arms across her chest and gave the woman a warm smile. Jude had warned her ahead of time, the elders’ connections are rooted inside Trillium. It would be hard to get inside without getting killed.
This is the reason why Jude couldn’t do a single thing. Even if he loathed everything that his father had been doing, he couldn’t do anything. It would be akin to suicide.
"Officers..." Karena said. "Take her inside while we search for the evidence." Karena got out. "Tell them... they can do whatever they want. Fighting is definitely normal inside a prison." Karena gave Ava one last look. "As well as accidents."
"Pfft..." Ava held her laughter. She tilted her head while smiling at Karena. "How exciting."
"Psycho." Karena uttered before she left the room.
Seeing this, Ava got up and almost laughed out loud when the two officers who would escort her to the cells flinched. These two are shifters.
You see, this facility is where witches and shifters were imprisoned. To stop the witches from trying to escape, most of this facility was made with iron. However, shifters could still use their abilities around iron. So, all shifters were equipped with a special leg brace that was designed to stun them if they tried to use force. Every shifter that had been imprisoned here had leg braces.
Moreover, all guards were equipped with a special baton that could stun both witches and shifters.
Still, this system didn’t stop a few inmates from killing other inmates. Just as Karena mentioned, fighting was normal. Accidentally killing someone was considered normal too. Inside the prison, there were no rules.
You could fight as long as you didn’t use your special abilities.
Ava smiled as she gave the people behind the two way mirror one last look.
...
"What the hell was that?" Dr. Mike Waterston asked when Karena walked to the other side of the room. From here, Dr. Mike Waterston was watching the interview. "What Hybrids?"
"Do you really believe her?" Karena asked. "She’s using that to hide the fact that she had something to do with the explosion."
"Karena..."
"It’s not true Mike. You know how she is... a sociopath. She would do everything to get what she wants." Karena said before lighting a cigarette. "You already knew that before she started working for us, didn’t you? But you still let her pass the psych evaluation. Now she’s back. It’s your fault that she is with us. So you should quietly take care of things."
"You are not allowed to smoke here!" Dr. Mike Waterston clenched his teeth.
Karena snorted in response. She approached the doctor and pulled his tie towards her. "What are you going to do if I don’t stop... Dr.?"
