"Of course, not." The Shaman snorted. He went to the kitchen and started brewing some tea. "I have taken all the right precautions to keep her safe." He had even gone as far as secretly giving her a protection charm that would only activate once she was in grave danger.
Of course, the Shaman would be informed once the charm is activated.
"You really are looking down on her," he added.
"I am well aware that she is a powerful woman. But you know me. Unless I am certain where her abilities came from, I wouldn’t see her as my equal."
"Foolish woman. Has old age taught you something?"
"I am not here to talk about my age."
"Well, you wanted to know if something happened and I told you that she’s safe. I am going to assume that you are going to leave now?"
"No. I want to know what is happening to Matthew."
"I couldn’t think of anything at all."
"You— " Baba walked towards the kitchen. She rested her hands on the counter and narrowed at the old man. "You know something that I don’t."
"And what makes you think I am going to tell you anything?"
"You are still selfish as you were years ago."
"I know," the old man nodded as if he was proud of it. Then he smiled. "Whatever is happening to Matthew... It might have something to do with the fact that they are away from each other or... that their connection had been cut off."
"You just told me nothing happened.
"Nothing happened to Ava but something happened to the connection— our connection had been cut off too."
"What do you mean a connection? What are you talking about?"
"You wouldn’t understand even if I tell you."
"Then tell me about whatever it is that you are willing to tell me."
The old man stared at her for a few seconds. "You really see him as your son." He said. "A witch who treated a Lycan as her son. I’d say that is impressive."
"Direct to the point old man. I couldn’t waste my time chatting with you."
"Well, if I am right. His wolf is... going to come out. If the separation would continue, he wouldn’t be able to control his wolf and he will go on a rampage."
"A rampage?"
"And since he has already marked his mate, there is no way that the current King could defeat him in a fair fight. He would surely use his witches to bind Matthew’s wolf and forcefully make him sleep until... his mate comes. And you know how painful binding is. It could kill a weaker wolf or make them lose their sanity. Either way, it is a brutal way to control him."
Baba’s face turned uglier as the Shaman continued.
"So you have to make him sleep... until Ava comes."
"What happens if he wakes up?" Baba asked.
"As I said... he wouldn’t be able to recognize you or anyone else. A future Lycan King on a rampage wouldn’t be a pretty sight."
"Is there any other way to control him?" she asked.
"There is."
"What is it?"
"Bring him somewhere else. Hide him until Ava comes."
"Are you telling me that I should let him go on a rampage somewhere else?"
"Yes," the Shaman nodded. "Unless of course, you want to bind his soul. Though I am honestly curious if binding him would work considering that he already marked his mate. His wolf would be... stronger, right?" freewēbnoveℓ.com
"I— "
"I have never seen a wolf like that. Should I go to him and watch a show?"
"You— " Baba took a step back. "Is there any other way to stop him?" she asked. "Other way aside from letting him rampage or binding his wolf?"
"There is."
"What is it?"
"Ava. She can stop him. The wolf would listen to him."
"That is— "
"That’s why I told you. You have to hide him somewhere safe. Let his wolf go... It’s his instinct. Let him be one with nature."

MATTHEW’s PALACE
The moment Baba disappeared a few footsteps echoed in the hallway leading to Matthew’s room.
"Are you certain you sensed magick?" Queen Luna Margery Bennet Graydon asked as she lifted her long dress. She hurried towards Matthew’s room.
"Yes, your majesty. There were two magick. One from Babaylan’s room and one from the crown prince’s room. It must be a protection spell that would prevent anyone from walking inside the room as it didn’t trigger the magick censor that we placed. Of course, it would be different if a witch like me is nearby."
Margery smiled. She looked at the other woman walking next to her. "He is in heat. It is about time that he touches a woman."The King, her husband, and she couldn’t understand why Matthew refused to mark someone or even have sex with another woman.
A Lycan like him should do his best to procreate and spread his bloodline.
What was he doing inside his room, avoiding all the beautiful Lycans with strong backgrounds and bloodlines?
It was absurd.
So, Margery did something that Matthew would hate once he woke up.
A potion that would forcefully make him in heat.
She had asked the kitchen staff to put a small portion of the potion on every meal. Slowly but surely.
She knew it would take longer to see its effects. In fact, she had expected to see the effects in a month.
Who would have thought that Matthew would show the effects in just three days?
Isn’t this good news?
The three of them stood in front of Matthew’s room.
"Are you ready?" Margery asked the beautiful blond next to her. She was wearing a see-through robe that showed her seductive body and a beautiful smile on her face.
"Yes, your majesty."
"You should start calling me mother."
The woman smiled.
Margery looked at her witch.
"Open it." Margery smiled. She had predicted Baba to leave to try and find something that could help Matthew out. She knew that Baba would come back soon so they need to hurry.
"Yes, your majesty." Her witch responded before she chanted a spell.
Then the door... opened.
