"Go ahead," Margery gestured for the beautiful woman to go inside. She could see Matthew from here, he was clearly sleeping yet, she could smell a dark aura that seemed to envelop him. He was sweating, shivering, and had a fiver.
Margery smiled. She never expected the effects to be this extreme.
Was it because Matthew never slept with a woman since he was born?
Thirty-two years of purity.
How promising.
She eyed the blond woman who was walking toward the bed. Just like Margery, anticipation clouded the woman’s gaze.
The woman slowly sat on the bed. Her heart drummed against her chest. Aside from her very own breathing, the only thing that she could hear was her loud heartbeat.
Just watching Matthew sleeping silently on the bed was enough to light the fire inside her body. She gulped, her core pulsated with want and lust.
She was supposed to be one of the future King’s concubines. She grew up being taught that she would become one of the most powerful women in their Kingdom.
For years, she trained how to fight and pleasure and man. All she wanted was to stand by the future King’s side and give birth to his children.
She stared at Matthew’s high nose and deep-seated eyes, his lips were wet. It was as if he had been inviting her to kiss him.
Her eyes turned glassy as she thought of all the things she had to endure just for this day. Reaching out, she tried to touch Matthew’s face but her hands moved towards his body.
This man... was hers.
But just as she was about to touch Matthew’s chest, the latter let out a low guttural growled.
The woman froze but quickly recovered.
She smiled.
Matthew was in heat. This was only a part of it.
Again, she attempted to touch Matthew.
"I wouldn’t do that if I were you," Babaylan’s voice came from behind her.
The woman immediately got up and faced Baba.
"I— "
"Babaylan, you have no business here." It was Margery. She walked inside the room with her witch.
"It is you who doesn’t have any business here, your majesty."
"You a mere witch who already abandoned the Lycan Royalty would dare such words towards me? Babaylan, you must answer me. Have you gone senile from old age? Or from loneliness?" Margery didn’t hide the mockery in her voice.
"Well— " Baba held her right hand and showed them a glowing light blue fire. "We could always test it, your majesty. I too would like to know if my magick has become weaker with age." Baba smirked. "You don’t mind that... do you?"
"That—" the witch behind Margery moved in front of her, protecting her from Baba. "Why would you bring a fire like that in this palace? What is your purpose?" While saying this, a protective shield appeared in front of them.
"A hellfire..." Margery uttered. "That is not something that a witch like you could control."
"Then... why don’t we— "
"Stop it," Margery’s witch Asunta, uttered. "This will burn for eternity if that— Babaylan— do you want to kill the Queen Luna of the Lycans? Are you trying to rebel?"
"Look at you," Baba snorted. She stared at the fire in her hand and smirked. "I didn’t know that the Lycans are scared of a little fire?"
"That is not just any little fire!" Asunta hissed. "Put it away. We are not here to cause trouble!"
"So... rxping a sick man isn’t trouble?"
"Rxpe?" Margery asked, her voice high and mighty. "How dare you talk about rxping the future King of the Lycans!"
"Isn’t what you are doing rxpe? Perhaps you have already forgotten about consent? Was it because you have already gone senile with old age?" Baba quipped back. Her words made the Queen scowl. Seeing this, Baba looked at the blond woman.
"Stay away from Matthew..." Baba said.
"But he is in heat. He needed my help."
"In heat?" Baba’s gaze sprang back to the Queen. "What nonsense is she talking about?" Baba squinted at Asunta. "A potion that could— I see— So this is your doing." Baba couldn’t help but laugh inwardly.
"Since you already know. You cannot do anything about it. We need a woman to help Matthew and— "
"Please Asunta. Did you really think that the future King of the Lycans is that weak?"
"You— "
Margery pushed Asunta out of her way, interrupting the words that the witch was about to say.
"Babaylan, Matthew must sleep with someone to make him feel better. I know you care about him but can’t you see? I am only doing this for his own good. He dreamed of finding his mate but we know how that is close to impossible. At this day and age— "
"I am going to protect Matthew from anyone who wanted to do something that is against his wishes. So... let’s stop the bullshit, shall we?" Baba asked. "I will forget about this matter and will not tell the King about it as long as you leave this room this instant!"
"You would tell the King?" Margery chuckled. "What made you think he isn’t aware of what was happening?"
"The King is not that desperate to build connections. He isn’t as greedy as his Queen."
"How dare you!" Asunta hissed, hatred coated her gaze.
"Am I wrong?" Baba smirked. "You have been coming here with different women in tow. You come here under the pretense of your motherly concern when all you wanted was Matthew’s child, a child that you wanted to control."
"You— "
"Enough Asunta," Margery uttered. Despite everything, her voice was now calm. In fact, it was calmer than before. "Babaylan... you either leave this room now or you cannot blame me for the things that I am about to do."
"No..." Baba chuckled. "I should be the one saying those words to you." Baba looked at Matthew. Then she sighed. "You should leave this room or it would be too late for you to regret the things that you did just for your personal selfishness!"
As if on cue, Matthew let out a loud growl after Baba spoke. The dimmed lights inside the room flickered as his growl grew louder.
