Chapter 228: Berserk

**CRASH**

**CRASH**

**CRASH**

Darkness enveloped the room.

The loud crashing sound startled everyone but before they could even ask anyone what was happening, the blond woman let out a blood-curdling scream.

The sound of flesh being torn echoed. It was followed by the smell of blood.

"What— "

**GROWL**

"Your majesty please leave this place at once!" Asunta immediately held the Queen’s wrist intending to teleport her out of the room. But before she could chant her teleportation spell, a powerful grip stopped her.

The next thing she knew, a searing pain stabbed her from behind.

"Ugh— " Asunta swallowed the blood that she was about to vomit as her body hit the floor. "Run..."

....

Berserk.

It was exactly the same as what the old man told her. While floating in the air, Baba could see everything.

Matthew’s body had grown larger, his eyes turned so gold it almost felt like it was sparkling. Despite this, his claws had grown and he easily killed another Lycan without batting an eyelid. frёewebηovel.cѳm

"Matthew... you should stop," Baba uttered. Her eyes were on the Queen. Margery might be scheming and selfish but she is still the Queen of the Lycans.

She is not weaker than Matthew or the King. However, that is only applicable if Matthew was in his human form.

Margery’s movements were silent as she moved against the wall. Using the protection of the wall, Margery squinted. She had a sharper vision than normal Lycans and she immediately saw the monstrosity that replaced Matthew. Her beautiful eyes widened but she said nothing. Her breathing was calm as she watch Matthew tore Asunta’s limbs slowly as if he was doing it to a vegetable.

Then she lifted her gaze towards Baba.

Baba only smirked at Margery. "Your son Drigo had been avoiding Matthew because of this." Baba’s voice echoed inside the Queen’s head. "And now, Matthew is about to do the same towards Drigo’s mother. It would be a sight that I wanted to see."

Margery glared at her.

"Sadly, I cannot let him go on a rampage," Baba said. She then sprinkled a bag of sparkling dust that the old man gave her and clapped her hand. Then she started chanting a spell that Shaman Gaas taught her.

Almost immediately, Matthew stopped moving. He sniffed the air as if he was looking for the source of the magick that was about to hit him. When he was unable to find anything, he focused his attention on Margery. He growled.

Soon, Matthew realized that he could no longer move.

He let out a loud growl as he tried to break free from Baba’s spell. However, the spell was given by Shaman Gaas. How could Matthew fight against one of the most ancient spells that ever existed?

Baba closed her eyes and uttered the last part of the spell.

The moment she finished chanting, the sparkling dust earlier moved and slowly covered Matthew.

Then the two of them vanished into thin air.

"I will come back and talk to you," Baba said inside Margery’s head.

....

"Your Majesty! What — "

Margery stared at the knights who strode inside Matthew’s room armed with weapons and light, ready to kill anyone. Yet all they saw was Margery.

She was covered in blood that was clearly not hers.

A blond woman’s head can be seen near the door, along with other body parts that were strewn inside the large room.

"Your Majesty! Are you alright?" Carlita, another one of Margery’s witches had a concerned look on her face as she approached the Queen. "His majesty is on his way."

"No," Margery shook her head. "Tell his majesty it was nothing but a small disturbance."

"But— " Carlita looked around the room. "This— "

"I was just playing. Yes. That’s it. I was only playing and accidentally killed Asunta. It was an accident. I want you to clean up the room and make them forget." She intentionally made her voice lower. Of course, the knights have heard her. But so what?

She was Queen Luna.

The knights are already used to their memories being erased from time to time.

This was nothing new. She was only doing this to protect the future King of the Lycans.

Without even looking at Asunta and the blond woman’s body, Margery marched out of the room, her head held high.

She had done nothing wrong.

Whatever it was... whatever it is that happened to Matthew was not her fault.

The fact that Babaylan was prepared to deal with it was proof that this has happened before. A rampage... Matthew in his berserk form. It was almost unbelievable. However, a Lycan’s berserk can only be solved by the Lycan’s mate.

Without the mate, the Lycan would lose himself and they would have no choice but to kill it.

Slowly, a smile bloomed on her face.

How could Matthew find his mate in that state?

It would be impossible for him to come back. This only means one thing...

Drigo...

The next in line...

Her Drigo is going to become the next King.

.....

"Fight!"

"Fight!"

"Fight!"

"Fight!"

The loud chanting was followed by a loud booing sound when Ava pierced the chest of what looked like a giant eagle with a snake head. She used the spear that she bought to stab another hole in the eagle’s body. Then she rolled at the mud, avoiding an attack from its talons.

Damnit, she cursed inwardly.

A snake head with the body of an Eagle.

How scary.

Who the hell created these creatures?

She clicked her tongue and used flight magick to avoid the eagle’s attack in the air. Then she used a fireball to make the creature more enraged. She had heard that the creature hated it when its beautiful feathers are damaged. And Ava was using that to provoke the beast.

"Huh?" Ava teleported away from the Eagle when she suddenly felt a stabbing pain in her chest. She paled, her hand stroked her chest.

What was that? She frowned.

Soon, her face turned ugly.

"Matthew," she uttered.
