Chapter 299: Ruched Black Dress- 2

This would be the first time that Ava is going to ask the Shaman for help. And when the Shaman heard it, he immediately nodded without even asking any questions.

As the communication ended, Ava heaved a sigh of relief. Then her face darkened. It looked like Ulva was trying to break her. But why?

She tried to use Matthew’s name, but it didn’t work. Ava actually thought that Ulva and the King were scared to offend Matthew. And so, she chose to act weak and use Matthew’s name as some sort of shield.

They are scheming something, Ava thought. But is that really something new?

These people had been scheming something even before Ava arrived in this place.

How irritating.

After a few minutes, she called Mara back, and the latter started fixing her hair and applying her makeup.

"These are the gowns and dresses available in your size," Mara said.

"Black and red?"

"Yes."

In response, Ava narrowed her eyes. freёweɓnovel_com

"These are the only gowns left?"

"Yes. Mildred gave this to me."

"I see," Ava nodded. At first glance, she already knew that the dresses were revealing. But upon closer inspection, Ava not only realized the extent of the problem. All the clothes, be it red or black have really long slits and revealing back.

Despite the good quality of the fabric, some dresses were actually see-through or would expose any decent underwear.

Clearly, they were doing this on purpose.

However, Ava wasn’t someone that would easily back down just because of a minor inconvenience. She smirked and chose one of the midi dresses. "This one..." she chose a Black Ruched Satin Midi Dress with really long slits that almost reached her thigh, an open back, and a bow strap. It came with long black stilettos, a black sparkling pouch, and a tiara.

Since they wanted her to reveal herself, then... she was going to show them what they wanted to see. Did they really think she would shy away from wearing something revealing like this?

Was she some sort of nun?

Well....

Now that Ava thought about it, most witches on this plane were actually conservative. They don’t wear anything that would show their knees and usually like to wear dresses that reached their toes or skirts that covered most of their legs, including their knees.

Ava smiled.

Now she understood why they wanted her to wear this.

"That— " Even Mara looked surprised at Ava’s choice. While all dresses were revealing, some dress only has a slit. Some of the dresses only have an open back, which honestly looked a little decent. So... why would Ava choose something with both a slit and an open back?

"You don’t like it?" Ava asked.

"No. I just... I have never seen anyone wear something like this before."

"Then you should enjoy the show," Ava said.

Soon, Ava finished changing into the clothes and as expected, silence wrapped inside the room when she walked out of her personal quarter where she had her makeup done.

Not only were they speechless because of Ava’s clothes, but even her also makeup matched her clothes. While she chose a subtle eyeshadow, her lipstick was actually in the shade of blood and her hair was curled to perfection.

"You took almost five hours," Mildred was the first one who spoke. She smiled at Ava. As expected, Ava chose something really revealing.

Ulva already told Mildred that Ava wasn’t someone that would stand back as people bully her. She’s beautiful and naturally, she would always use that to her advantage.

This trait was very attractive and the two believe that this was the reason why Matthew liked Ava.

"Since everyone is here... follow me. The King and the Queen were already in the hall welcoming the guests who arrived ahead of time. After the banquet..." Mildred looked at Ava. "You are going to accompany some of the guests and make sure that they... enjoy themselves."

"Do you understand?" Mildred asked.

Just as she expected, Ava frowned. But she said nothing. Seeing this, Mildred grinned inwardly.

Pride.

Ulva said that Pride will be Ava’s downfall.

She was too conceited, too arrogant. Ava must have felt that something was wrong, but who cares? Ulva already assured Mildred that Ava would say no tonight. Mildred doesn’t have an idea why Ava would suddenly become so obedient. But that does even matter?

Since the Priestess said that Ava will obey them then... Ava will surely obey them!

The mishap that happened during the last event didn’t count!

Mildred watched as Ava nodded.

She immediately turned around and started walking out of the room. Almost immediately, the other witches inside followed behind her.

Mildred then led them to a different room.

"You can wait here. Sooner or later, some well-known alphas, humans, and shifters would walk into that door. All you need to do is entertain them. Welcome them. Do you understand?"

Her question was met with nods. Even Ava nodded at her.

Seeing this, Mildred nodded at the knights that guarded the doors leading to the balcony. She wanted to make sure that none of the ladies inside this room would do something as crazy as jumping out of the balcony to escape.

Then she smiled at everyone.

"Go ahead and have some champagne. Relax... tonight is all about fun."

After seeing everyone take a glass of champagne, Mildred added, "I will be outside waiting for Ulva and the rest."

With that, she walked out of the hall and instructed the knights to lock the doors.

Then she smiled at Ulva, who was waiting for her outside.

"It’s done," she said.

"Good," Ulva nodded. "What are you waiting for? Go ahead and get dressed so you can enjoy yourself along with everyone else. It had been hundreds of years since the Lycans hosted an event like this. It is only right that we enjoy it."

"I understand Priestess." Mildred smiled.

Seeing Mildred slowly vanish into the hallway, Ulva smiled in satisfaction.

Ah, victory... she could already smell it.
