Chapter 301: Brown Antechinus

Without asking questions, Ava quickly hid the box and looked at Samuel.

They don’t actually have much time right now.

"Are you not interested to look at it now?" Samuel asked.

"I am in the middle of something now," Ava answered. "I don’t have the time." And maybe... just maybe she didn’t really want to open it. Maybe she didn’t want to know.

"Then why don’t we— "

"My... My..."

Ulva’s voice interrupted them.

The three of them immediately looked at the older woman walking toward them. Ulva was with Mildred and another man with a brooding expression on his face. Ulva was smiling at both Samuel and Jude.

"If this isn’t the representative from Trillium. Mr. Caro, Mr. Sutton."

"Priestess..." Jude gave an amicable smile. "I didn’t see you earlier."

"My apologies. I was doing some important tasks for the King and Queen."

"Is that so?"

"Then— "

"Am I disturbing something?" Ulva asked.

"No." It was Ava who answered her.

"Good, then I would like to introduce Alpha Justin York from One of the biggest Werewolf packs in North America, Primal Hounds."

Justin, the man that Ulva introduced gave both men a curt nod before staring at Ava. Almost immediately, Ava understood why Ulva introduced the man to her. She didn’t miss that lusty glint from the man’s orbs.

"Primal Hounds?" Jud asked. "I have heard so much about the Hounds... aren’t you the pack that just raided some rogues’ base about a month ago?" Jude said.

"It was," Justin answered, still his eyes glued to Ava. The man wasn’t even hiding it!

"Primal Hounds is one of the top five Packs in North America who had been fighting against both the Rogues and Hybrids for years. It is an honor to have them in this conference." Ulva said. "However, I also came here because I wanted to have a word with you, Mr. Caro? Since you weren’t exactly talking about something important with Miss Woods, may I guide you to a different room for some private conversation?"

"Oh?"Jude looked at Ava.

"Yeah, I’m alright Jude. Thanks." Ava said.

Jude nodded and started walking towards Ulva.

"Oh... you as well Mr. Sutton. I hope you don’t mind. I have very important matters to discuss. Don’t worry, Mr. York can take care of Miss Woods. Isn’t that right, Mr. York?"

"Of course," Justin said.

"I don’t think that is possible Priestess," Samuel spoke. His words didn’t just surprise Ava but everyone else.

"Pardon me?"

"I still have important things to tell Miss Woods."

"That— "

"Mr. Sutton, it’s alright. We can talk tomorrow." This time, Ava intervened. She smiled at Samuel. "We have three days to find time to talk. For now, you should go and listen to the Priestess. She must have a very important thing to discuss with you."

For a few minutes, Samuel stared at Ava before he slowly nodded.

"Very well."

Samuel pursed his lips. "I understand," he added.

With this, Samuel followed Ulva and Mildred along with Jude, leaving only Ava and the man named Justin.

"Wine?"

Ava didn’t even notice that the man had been holding wine in his hand. Of course, she accepted the glass without saying a word.

"So?" Ava asked. "What do you want?"

Justin scoffed. "I knew you were trouble from the moment I walked in. I just didn’t know you would be a little firecracker."

"Firecracker..." Ava snorted. She was more like a bomb. What firecracker is this dog talking about?

"I’ve heard some rumors..." Justin stood next to her, his eyes were on the view of the lake in front of the balcony. The lake was just made of magick. Originally, this place didn’t have any view. But the witches made it look so beautiful just for this event.

What a waste of magick power.

Clearly, the Lycan wanted to show that they are still powerful. They wanted to establish both authorities in the world.

"They were interesting but at the end of the day... they were still rumors."

Ava scoffed. She looked at the man’s side profile. Justin was tall, probably six foot one or two, with really broad shoulders and black cropped hair. She could see some tattoos hiding beneath his black suit.

"So?"

"So, I personally came here to ask about them."

Ava smiled. That was a surprise. She didn’t think that the man would actually ask her about the rumors surrounding her instead of trying to flirt. Although Justin didn’t hide the lust swirling inside him, he still chose to approach her like this.

Good.

But it’s not going to affect her.

"Sure," Ava said.

"Have you heard about me?"

"That is not one of the rumors about me."

He laughed."But it would be one of the rumors surrounding you... very soon."

Ava lifted her chin. How confident.

"Of course, I have heard about you," Ava answered. "Justin... the antechinus." Brown antechinus is a type of mouse. Despite their names, they are very well known for one thing. And that is the fact that during mating season... they have sex as much as they can for two whole weeks.

Justin was named the antechinus because it was rumored that he loved to sleep with different women and he only does this for two damn weeks.

As an Alpha of a pack, he was very busy and since he haven’t found his mate yet, he would love to take various women on his trips and enjoy their ’company’ for two weeks. Then he moves on and finds another woman.

So... how did Ava know this?

It was because Justin and his pack lived in Washington which is close to Canada. And Trillium had another branch in Canada. Obviously, supernaturals gossip and some women who had been involved with this man were very well-known witches and other supernaturals.

Justin’s laughter interrupted her stupor.

"I have never heard anyone call me that name... in front of my face," Justin said. "It seems that... you are indeed the best among all the others inside the hall."
