Chapter 310: Female Lycans

"How did you do that?" Francheska was so loud that Ava almost wondered if this was considered normal. As pitiful as it sounds, Ava never actually had any close friends before. She was a complete loner and that was because of her weird abilities.

The only friend that Ava had was someone that suffered because of one of her outbursts which didn’t end well for her and Phil who protected her back then.

So... Ava didn’t know how to handle situations like this.

"Do what?" she asked as she wondered how Francheska was able to get into her room without alerting the guards that Ulva was stationed outside. The only reason why Ava knew that Francheska was on her door was because of the magick that she placed in this room.

One attempt and Ava would know that someone is trying to sneak inside the room.

"Got out of that room. I saw you go inside with the men."

"I didn’t go inside," Ava said. "There was only the Alpha."

"But I— Are you telling me that it was nothing but an illusion?"

"Yes. But only to the people who had been watching me for more than a few minutes. The ones who weren’t paying attention wouldn’t even notice the illusion."

"Is that possible?"

"Possible," Ava said.

"I have never seen anyone make Ulva suffer like that. I am serious. Since I met that woman here, this was the first time that she suffered a great loss like that."

"Really?" Obviously, everyone was scared of Ulva and her abilities and closeness to the King. Only a crazy person would dare offend her.

"How long had she been serving the King?" Ava asked.

"Hmmm... She had been serving all the past seven Kings of the Lycans."

"So... how old is she?"

"I am not actually sure. Should be about five, six hundred? Maybe older?"

So... she should be about the same age as the Shaman? Ava couldn’t help but asked herself. Meaning, Ulva should be very familiar with the ancient magick and forbidden magick.

However, this only made Ava confuse. If the woman was as old as the Shaman, why does it feel like Ulva was weaker?

No. Ava was aware that Ulva was weaker than the Shaman.

Was this because the Shaman was a dream walker?

"Hey... what did you use to bypass the guards?" Ava asked.

"I can’t tell you that." Francheska pouted. "Does that even matter? I was just bored. And I need to know how you did that. I wanted to watch more shows but you already left the party."

Ava sighed inwardly. To be honest, she wasn’t in the mood to talk because she was very tired. Not from doing magick but from wearing the stiletto earlier. Mara told her it was just a five inches heel but Ava was certain it was more than that. Eight or nine should be the right number. Or at least that’s how it felt like.

To be honest, the heels not only made her taller, but it also made her more confident and poised. However, walking in stilettoes straight for almost six hours isn’t something that any woman could do! She was certain that any woman that could walk on such heels for hours and superhumans!

While complaining inwardly, Francheska started talking about the guests and the people that she actually found handsome.

"You aren’t married yet?" Ava couldn’t help but ask.

"Of course not. No one would want to marry me."

"I thought the King wanted to continue the bloodlines?"

"Women are different."

"Hm? How?"

"It has been like that for centuries. I forgot the name of the first King who started it but they found out that a female Lycan doesn’t produce strong heirs for the throne so... they let us marry who we wanted to. Of course, not all of us survive to even have the child."

For some reason, her words seemed to remind Ava of what she heard in that secret room with Ulva and the people in that mirror. Dead Royal Lycans.

"I mean our life expectancy is shorter. Some of us just die before we marry someone."

"How?"

"What do you mean, how?"

"I mean... how did they die? Was it of natural causes?"

"Some," Francheska said. "Some died from accidents. Why do you look like that? This has been normal in the Royal Family for centuries... wait...Is this the first time that you heard about this?"

Ava nodded. Unfortunately, this was the first time that she heard about Royal Female Lycans. She had wondered why she never met Matthew’s sisters though but she just didn’t ask them as she was too busy watching her own back. She thought they just managed to leave this place because of marriage. After all, there were Lycans who lived abroad. There were Lycans in Asia, Australia, and Europe.

It wouldn’t be weird for a female Lycan to leave her own home to live with her husband’s family.

"Well, female Lycans aren’t treated fairly. We were supposed to give birth and continue the bloodline. Obviously, the stronger Lycans with strong Lycans marry other people first."

"You are a Royal. By logic... you should be stronger, right?"

"Wrong. For some reason, Ulva and the previous Kings found out that a Female Royal isn’t as strong as the other female Lycans."

"That’s bullshit," Ava said without batting an eyelid.

"I thought so too! But who am I to argue with people like them? I am not that insane." Francheska snickered as she reached out for some cookies that were on a plate on the coffee table. She ate it before she continued. "If you don’t know this then let me tell you. People who go against any King die a terrible death. Unexpectedly, of course."

"So they were murdered."

Francheska shook her head as she smiled and winked at her. "I didn’t say that."

Ava said nothing. She just observe the woman’s mischievous behavior and watched her eat another cookie. She had wondered how they were able to sneak a Royal Lycan’s body for those experiments without attracting anyone’s attention.

Well... Francheska just answered her question.
