Chapter 311: Dream Walkers and Forbidden Spells

Amore Mclary stared at the arched entrance. She was certain this was the right place. She was told to come to the arched entrance to find what she wanted. The thing is... the palace was full of arched entrances.

She gritted her teeth as she silently looked around. Last night, Amore couldn’t sleep so she chose to come here even if the sun wasn’t even up yet. She wanted to see if the rumors about the most powerful witch that the Lycans were real.

Was she really someone who knew the answer to her questions? Would she be able to help her at all? This was the only reason why she agreed to come here to join this conference. She needed to find her!

She glanced at the dead vines that were on the column next to her. Dead vines seemed to occupy this place. The place actually looked abandoned.

The sound of a crow made her flinch. Amore almost jumped.

She cursed inwardly and started turning around. She’s going back to her room.

"I don’t remember inviting someone," a woman’s cold voice interrupted her. She turned, on high alert. She didn’t even notice anyone’s presence. This only meant one thing... whoever was the speaker was stronger than her.

She gulped.

"I am Amore Maclary. I am here to— "

"Ah... aren’t you the priestess of the largest coven in the US?" A woman wearing an all-black dress walked out of one of the columns. Her long hair was braided loosely and a smile was apparent on her face. She looked like she was just in her late forties, though Amore was certain that this woman was much older than that.

Ulva the High Priestess of the Lycans.

No one had actually seen her, not even Amore’s ancestor saw the woman. However, the people who saw her described her exactly as the woman standing before Amore.

Tall, stern yet magnanimous. She wasn’t that pretty yet her appeal was enough to attract everyone’s attention. Though, they had described her as a little colder.

A smiling woman was something that Amore never expected.

Yes! The woman standing before her was nothing but Ulva! It was Ulva! The Ulva that was rumored to know all the powerful witches in this world. If that was true then Ulva should know something about the dream walkers, right?

Amore silently celebrated.

"Y— Yes."

"How may I help you, priestess?"

Contrary to Amore’s previous opinion, Ulva didn’t look that cold. In fact, there was a slight smile on the older woman’s face.

"High Priestess..." Amore curtsied. In fact, the ranking inside this place doesn’t have anything to do with her. However, this woman could possibly help her and her quest. "I came here because I have a request."

"A request?" Ulva lifted an elegant eyebrow. A black chalice appeared on Ulva’s hand. "Wine?" she asked.

"I— "

A chair then appeared behind Ulva. She took a seat and crossed her legs. Then she smiled at Amore.

"Speak," Ulva uttered.

"I wanted to ask the High priestess something. I have heard rumors that you are the oldest witch alive and I hope that you could help me."

"Help a fellow witch," Ulva smiled. "You do understand that I don’t just help random people, right?"

"I am willing to do everything in exchange for the information."

"Anything?"

"Yes," Amore answered without any hesitation. "Anything in exchange for the information that I want."

"Tell me about it." ƒreewebηoveℓ.com

"Dreamwalkers."

Just as she expected, Ulva’s face changed when she heard those words.

"Dreamwalkers?"

"Yes. I want to know if one still existed in this world or realm."

"I could think of one," Ulva answered without batting an eyelid. "An elusive old Shaman that loved to travel through dimensions and steal artifacts, potion formulas, and spells."

"Is that true?" Amore asked, her eyes wide with excitement.

"It won’t be easy to find him and I am not planning to help you. Even if... I did intend to help you, it would be useless. I cannot walk in dreams or dimensions. Once he uses his gift, I and other witches in this world would be useless against him." Ulva said. "But I would tell you his name. There is no harm in trying to find him... right?"

"Yes. That would be enough." Amore smiled. As long as dream walkers exist, then hope exists for her son. She made mistakes in dealing with Romeo in the past. She’s not making the same mistakes now. To be honest, all she wanted to do now was leave this place after obtaining this information.

She’s going to find the dream walker and do everything for him to help her.

"I heard that Dream Walkers don’t exist in this world anymore," Amore spoke.

"They do not. Most of them... left or just disappeared out of nowhere. They could travel through dimensions. It wouldn’t be a surprise for them to suddenly disappear. That’s why I told you... there is the possibility that you might not be able to find him. Perhaps he is no longer in this realm."

"I would still like to try."

"Very well," Ulva smirked. "Then shall we talk about what I want?"

"Yes. I will do everything as long as you gave me the name of the Shaman."

"Very well," Ulva held her hand towards Amore. A paper appeared. "Take it," Ulva said.

"What is this?"

"A spell..." Ulva said.

"This— " Amore’s face changed when she heard Ulva’s words. "Isn’t this a forbidden illusion spell?"

"You know your spells well."

"It was forbidden for a reason. This would... ruin the mind of the person that would receive the attack. " In short, it was a curse. It wasn’t just a deadly one. It was very cruel as it would keep the person alive, living only inside their heads. There were rumors that no one could get out of the illusion. Once the illusion takes effect, the person would fall into what looked like a coma state but they would still hear and see everything and even feel it if someone touches them.

At the same time, they would have endless nightmares of the things that scare them the most.

"You want me to use it on someone?" Amore asked.

"As expected of a Priestess. You really knew your spells very well."

Amore stared at the piece of paper.

"Once the other discover— "

"That or you will never know the dream walker."

"Alright," Amore nodded. There is no point in declining anymore.

"Though I am not expecting you to be able to completely perform the spell and maintain it for hours. You are not strong enough to do that. Right now, you should be able to use the spell for an hour max. More than that and it would backfire on you and you will eventually succumb to it."

Amore nodded. She actually appreciated Ulva’s kindness. Some witches would never warn someone of the possible effects of the spell. But Ulva was different.

She was dignified.

"I understand," Amore said.

"Good." Ulva smiled. "So... I wanted you to use this spell against someone that you already know."

"Someone that I already know?"

"Ava," Ulva said. "I want you to use it on Ava Woods."
