Chapter 342: Nova Scotia

Nova Scotia, Canada

"What is this?" Ava couldn’t help but stop herself from smiling. "A telescope?" She looked at the large telescope in Matthew’s hand. They just arrived in a small cabin that Matthew owned in Blue Rocks, Town of Lunenburg. Lunenburg was a coastal town surrounded by nature and reserves.

Honestly, Ava hasn’t heard of this town before. She was surprised to know that there is actually an exit of that Lycan’s Plane in this town.

Because of this, the place has been guarded by witches and some Lycans, and even werewolves.

This is just a small town mostly known for its fishing and coastal sites. The people living in this place are mostly supernatural.

They just arrived a couple of minutes ago and before she could unpack her things, Matthew barged inside her room with a telescope.

She thought they were here because of the Werewolves?

Why was he bringing a telescope?

"I thought we could look at the moon together."

"Oh?" she didn’t know what to say. But she ended up nodding anyway. Why would she say no?

The two of them went outside.

The sound of waves from nearby caught her attention. frёewebηovel.cѳm

This cabin was not far away from a Natural Park known for its pristine reserve of coastal forestry.

"This place has so many caves and camping sites. And it’s privately owned," she heard Matthew say.

"By who?"

"Ours of course."

"Ours?"

He said nothing and grabbed her hand then pulled her out of the cabin. It didn’t take too long for them to reach the sandy beach with a noticeable bonfire that someone had lit.

But no one else was there.

Somehow, she knew that Matthew must have asked someone to make some fire here. And...

"Are those..."

"Seafood," Matthew said. "For dinner..."

Ava said nothing. How could she complain? Her stomach is literally grumbling. Earlier, she was too busy packing the clothes that Matthew magically bought for her without even her knowledge.

Aside from seafood, she could also see various dishes like barbeque, some hotdogs and marshmallows, and sandwiches.

"What is this?" she couldn’t help but ask. Was this... a date? However, Matthew didn’t answer her, instead, he proceeded to set up the telescope not far away from the bonfire.

Shrugging, Ava sat near the bonfire and observed Matthew.

The night wasn’t as cold as she expected it to be but it was still a little chilly. Though, her current turtleneck top and black leather jeans with her boots were pretty helpful in fighting against the cold.

Looking at Matthew, Ava sighed. The man was actually wearing a matching beige turtleneck shirt. At this point, Ava just lets him do what he wanted because there is just no reason for her to stop him. Though, she really found it a little cheezy.

But that’s just her.

Ava only had one boyfriend and well... Broody wasn’t really big on wearing the same thing. Years ago, if Broody would ask her to try and wear something similar, she would have laughed at his face.

But now?

She quite liked it!

After a few minutes, the two of them started eating before Matthew told her to watch some constellations with him.

"Do you like it?" Matthew asked.

"Of course."

"You don’t look too happy."

"I am happy," Ava said. "It’s just that... I feel too small." The universe or cosmos, as the Shaman liked to call it was huge. It’s endless, infinite. Watching the stars and the planets somehow made her small.

She knew for a fact that she was just a speck of dirt in this world but still...

"Hearing someone like you say that is kinda entertaining..."

"Someone like me?"

"Someone who could work in between realms." Matthew clarified. Almost immediately, Ava froze.

"Do you know something about— that?"

"I always wonder how you managed to leave my mansion..."Matthew said. He was talking about the mansion inside the Pits. Escaping from it would have been impossible for a normal witch.

Of course, his Ava wasn’t normal.

"I immediately understood when I came here," he added.

"And?"

"Well, your kind have walked this realm for a very... very long time now. Though many of your kind would end up dying even before they learn to control their ability."

"How?"

"Accidentally moving into a realm of fire? Or endless snow? I am certain your mentor already taught you this..."

Ava snorted. Yes. In fact, she already knew about this from the Shaman. It’s just that... she wanted to know more.

"The Shaman must have already taught you how to walk between realms...I am surprised, you haven’t tried it yet. " Matthew sat next to her. He handed her some barbecued pork and she took it without saying a word.

She started eating, her eyes were on the sea that reflected the moon and the beautiful dazzling stars.

"There is simply no reason for me to leave." What was the point of leaving? Ava wasn’t really that ambitious when it comes to power. She only tried to learn more and visited the pits so she could protect herself and... Matthew.

"That and the Shaman told me I am not ready," Ava added. "We age slower than normal witches. He emphasized how important it is for me to learn more before I try something crazy. Plus... our kinds weren’t exactly the most liked type of witches out there."

And the reason behind that was simple.

The power to walk into different realms was just too precious, too rare. How could other people let someone like that go?

Most of the dream walkers that the Shaman knew would just vanish while some of them would hide in other dimensions— which isn’t exactly a very good choice either.

Suffice to say, Ava wasn’t very interested in revealing her ability only to be hunted by some selfish people.

"Do you want to travel the realms?" he asked

"I— " she hesitated before looking at her. That was when she realized how close his face was. She gulped. For some reason, her throat suddenly felt dry.

"With me..." Matthew smiled as he stared into her eyes. "I mean with me."
