Chapter 343: Got Ya

"You wanted to travel through dimensions with me?" Ava wanted to laugh. There was no reason for her to travel to other dimensions.

Or is there?

"Who knows," she turned her gaze towards the skies. Then she let out a chuckle. That’s right... who knows?

No one really knows what the future hold.

He let out a low chuckle and also turn towards the skies. "Right.... Who knows?" he uttered.

"I would assume you have been to different realms?" Ava asked.

"Yes."

"How was it?"

"Sad."

"Hm?" she looked at him and stared at his side profile. "What do you mean?"

"The Shadow realm is sad... the others aren’t exactly that good either. For instance, the Nightmare realm is a place of magick and horror. A place where your dreams and nightmares come true. The demon realm... isn’t exactly the best place to be but people who were hiding from others loved it there. The smell of death and decay and blood would follow you despite the fact that you have left that world for years."

"Oh..." Ava knew from the Shaman’s grimoire that there are other realms aside from these three. She knew about the existence of the Spirit realm and Celestial Realm. Of course, there are other realms out there that not even the most powerful dream walkers would dare visit.

"Have you heard about a realm of dragons?" he asked.

"I have."

"They are ruled by dragon lords. Most of them... the older and more powerful ones could easily transform to human form and use the others as their pet, toy or just their rid."

"That— "

He chuckled. freewēbnoveℓ.com

"They look down on other species aside from their own. In their eyes, there is simply no other creature more powerful than dragons."

"Are they right?" she asked.

"No. The universe is vast. The realms have different laws. There is more creature out there that is definitely more powerful than Dragons. You call them gods."

"Gods..."

Ava stopped talking.

And for a few minutes, the two of them just stayed like that, looking at the endless sky and listening to the sound of the waves as they danced on the shore.

"You have questions?" Matthew asked after a long silence.

"A lot."

"And?"

"Is he still there?" Finally, Ava wasn’t able to stop herself and asked about the previous Matthew.

"Yes."

"So... his body didn’t move to another body? Like the one in the pits?"

Matthew immediately stared at her, then he laughed.

"What made you think that?" he asked.

"Well... what if you just did something to change your souls or something?"

"And why would I do that?"

"I— "

"This realm isn’t as nice as you think, Eve. There is no reason for me to come back and risk being seen by my enemies..."

"Funny how you just assumed I am going to believe everything that you say," Ava met his eyes. That’s right. The fact that he said it doesn’t really mean anything right now.

"When I left, my body disintegrated into nothing."

"You mean... Josef’s body?"

He nodded.

"So... where is the previous Matthew now?"

"Inside me. We used to belong to one soul and right now... we are somehow fusing together."

"Fusing... so it’s not done yet?"

"There are some things that needed to be done. I need some things that some humans stole in the past."

"And that’s why we are here?"

Instead of answering her, he used his pointer and thumb to hold her chin. This time, she didn’t do anything to stop him.

"No," he shook his head.

"Then why are we here?" she asked.

"Don’t you want to spend time with me?" he lifted an eyebrow.

His words, however, left Ava speechless. What’s that supposed to mean?

Are they just here to... have a date?

"Don’t think too much, this isn’t a date."

She blinked. Can he really read her mind?

"Then what is it?"

"We are... looking for a wedding venue."

"Huh?"

"At least that’s what the locals have heard. We are renting this place because we were traveling the world before our... wedding. And we are scouting for a place where we are going to have our wedding."

"What?"

Seeing her reaction, he laughed. Then without waiting for her to say another word, he suddenly lean down and kissed her.

Surprise, Ava let out a gasp and tried to push him away.

Keyword; tried.

Matthew didn’t let her do that. Instead, he suddenly surprised her by smearing some ketchup on her face. It was from the pile of sauces that were included in their food.

"What are you— "

Ava’s words halted when Matthew smeared another ketchup on her face. This time, he used his pointed and middle fingers and moved his fingers from her forehead to her chin.

"What the fuck Matthew!" she let out a low growl as she tried to wipe the ketchup from her face. Hearing Matthew’s laughter only made her more infuriated. She got up and immediately tried to catch him.

But how could she catch someone like Matthew using her own physical strength? It would be like a kid trying to catch the wind! Upset, she held her hand up and created an invisible shield that would hide what she was about to do to anyone.

"Hey! You are cheating!"

She heard Matthew say. But he didn’t look bothered at all. In fact, he was laughing. He was clearly enjoying making her run after him!

Ava immediately used her magick to make herself faster. Speed and agility. Then she added strength! Because....

How could she tackle him without strength?

But even her magick wasn’t enough to make her catch him.

"You will regret that— " she hissed and this time, used some spell to make him immobile.

Surprisingly, it worked this time!

She watched as panic arouse on his face. Almost immediately a smug smile replaced the anger on her face.

She immediately approached him, gloating.

"Got ya..." she smiled. To her surprise, Matthew smiled back at her.

"No. Miss Woods... I got ya."
