Chapter 373: Missing Children 10

"Rare?" the voice snorted.

"A Lycan working with Werelions and werewolves is already rare. Lycans think that they are superior. They would never work with other shifters. They have been enslaving witches for centuries and have always looked down on everyone else except for their own kind." Alpha John explained.

The voice didn’t answer.

Of course, it would be dangerous because they are working together. How could Alpha John allow his enemies to work together? No.

He had been trying to prevent this case from happening. Creating conflict between that village and the packs was just one of the things that he did in the past. There were more ’measures’ that he had done just to stop them from working together. How could he allow them to just come here and ruin everything?

He narrowed his eyes.

He couldn’t help but wonder why Lycans started working with Trillium. He had heard about the conference that was held inside the plane where Lycans live. Many prominent Alphas went but he chose to stay. It was because of the powerful witch that was living inside that plane.

Until now, Alpha John could still remember the stories that he heard from his grandfather. Growing up, Alpha John was closer to his grandfather than his very own father who chose someone else to become the next Alpha. Because of this, he heard some stories about Alphas and other supernaturals in this realm.

And his grandfather was very clear about the matters concerning the Lycans.

Those creatures are powerful. Even more powerful than three Alphas combined. Aside from this, they have a really strong ally with them. A witch that had been enslaved by using millennium-old magick that didn’t come from this realm.

His grandfather warned him about the existence of a witch that is so strong all witches on earth would tremble under her name. Luckily, that witch doesn’t like to leave the plane and has vowed to protect the next king. His grandfather also told him that this witch have lived for hundreds of years.

She could be immortal.

Obviously, this was a red flag as he didn’t know if that witch was indeed immortal or... she was just like the creature that he made a deal with. If she was just like the creature or maybe made a deal with the same type of creature, she could easily sense Alpha John.

Right now, he couldn’t risk informing anyone about it. Not when he haven’t found the perfect vessel that would make the creature give him what he wanted, the thing that he had been dreaming to have since he was but a child.

"We need to do something about it," Alpha John said. Not long after, he called his secretary.

"Alpha I have given them rooms. We found out that they just visited the village and immediately came here. However, we didn’t know how they were able to leave that place. Right now, it was surrounded with poisonous gas."

"No matter." He got up. "Grabbed my coat. I am going to visit Jude Caro and oh... bring Sonia and some expensive wine."

The two of them left his office and went to the guest house where the others are currently resting. Right now, Alpha John didn’t intend to meet with the Lycan as he first wanted to meet Jude and see if he could get more information out of him.

"Alpha John..." Jude Caro had a curt smile on his face— just like what the rumors say. The Caro family had been serving Trillium. However, there were rumors that Jude Caro actually made his own father quit so he could become the head of the northern American branch of Trillium.

It was a sinister rumor. But how could there be smoke without a fire?

Seeing Jude act calm and collected only made the Alpha think about the rumors.

"Mr. Caro... I apologize for not being able to welcome you properly. I just arrived from a very important business that would involve the future of Rock Growlers."

"I understand," Jude walked towards the seating area inside his suite room. This was the only suite room inside this guest house. The others don’t have the large seating area or the large master bathroom with its very own jacuzzi and a view. This was the only room with a bar full of rare whiskeys and wine.

Everything inside this room was simply top-notch.

And Alpha John designed it that way to show the wealth of his pack.

The two of them sat down and made themselves comfortable.

"Please accept this wine as an apology," he gestured Sonia, one of the prettiest women in the pack. Just as he expected, Jude’s eyebrow immediately lifted when he laid eyes on Sonia’s red dress. It was something with a plunging neckline that showcased her beautiful breasts, and long slits that showed her long jade-like legs. The blue-eyed woman was five foot eight and had the perfect figure.

As always Sonia had perfect curled hair and subtle makeup that made her beauty look more natural.

Sonia prepared two wine glasses.

"Please allow me to pour the wine..." she said, her voice soft and gentle. "This is Egon Muller Scharzhofberger Riesling Trockenbeerenauslese 1959 from Germany. This is a classic. The first of its kind. Alpha John was lucky enough to be able to obtain the wine from one of his trips abroad." Sonia smiled and handed the glass to Jude before she poured another glass of wine to the Alpha.

Then she walked behind Alpha John and lowered her head.

Alpha John nodded in satisfaction. Sonia was always the type of woman that would act gentle and weak in front of strangers when she was actually one of his strongest gammas. She’s not only good at assassination but also very good at giving men what they wanted.

In fact, the Alpha had spent most of his lonely nights with her.

Jude nodded. He took a quick sip and returned his gaze toward Alpha John.

"Thank you," Jude said.

"You are very much welcome." Alpha John said. He waited for Jude to glance at Sonia. When he didn’t, Alpha John immediately said. "What do you think of the wine?"

"It was— rare." Jude smiled.

"Mr. Caro please do not insult my wine..." Alpha John chuckled. "Please give me an honest opinion. Who knows, I might just give you more if you like it." Of course, the meaning behind his words was different from what he was actually saying. He smiled at Jude hoping he understood his meaning.

Jude smiled in response. "My apologies... I think it’s too sweet. I would prefer something... with a little fire on it."

"A little fire?"

"And sweet..." Jude continued smiling. "Scharzhofberger Riesling Trockenbeerenauslese isn’t bad. Though it wasn’t too subtle with its sweetness. I would have preferred it a few months ago. But now... no. Still, I want to thank you for the gift. But I would have to decline your offer."

"Really?" Alpha John lifted an eyebrow. Does this mean Jude wasn’t interested in Sonia? Did he prefer something fiercer? That might be understandable as he was a werelion. Perhaps he prefers someone that oozes dominance? Just as Alpha John wanted to say something, someone knock on the door.

Then a woman walked in. Black hair, silver eyes, five foot seven. Almost immediately, Alpha John understood. Someone fiery with a little bit of sweetness.

Jude Caro might be talking about this woman!
