"We could just kill them," Matthew said. "That man is quite useful, killing him would be a waste."
"You don’t have to kill him."
"Alright."
Ava was speechless.
"But we could kill everyone that opposed us. What do you think?"
"You speak of killing as if it’s a very simple thing."
"Isn’t it?"
"It’s not."
"But dying is just a part of the process," Matthew explained.
"Still, you can’t just kill people because you want to."
He stared at her. "I never thought you would be this kind."
"I am not kind," Ava said. "I just don’t trouble. If you kill people, their loved ones would surely seek revenge. Then it would be a never-ending cycle of fighting against each other. Isn’t that tiring?"
"You are surprisingly smart."
Ava rolled her eyes. Her head started to feel heavy. She still felt upset because Matthew left last night but for some reason, she felt helpless against his presence. She couldn’t even pretend that she was mad. But who could blame her? He was hugging her from behind with his large biceps and fresh from the shower smell.
"We should sleep... tonight we will have some fun," Ava said.
...........
"If Mr. Caro was indeed trying to trick us into believing that he is with us, tonight, he is going to act along with his people." Dr. Ochea told Alpha John. "I think it’s only right that we give them a surprise of their lives," he chuckled.
"I don’t want to waste time Dr. Ochea." Alpha John said. It has been hours and the entity hasn’t come back yet. This made the Alpha a little irritated. He wondered if that entity traveled halfway through the world just to get some children. Sadly, there is no way for him to contact that entity. "I want to have his blood as soon as possible, so we can start the treatment soon. We need someone younger and strong like him to check if the new round of treatments would work on an already strong supernatural. I don’t have the time for this... tests."
"Alpha John I understand your concern. However, we need to be thorough. I have seen him earlier and... I think he is just trying to get more information from us. He knew that we don’t have the record of him killing those children."
"They said it had nothing to do with magick."
"I don’t believe in coincidences Alpha."
Alpha John rolled his eyes inwardly. Actually, Dr. Ochea was against him working with Jude Caro. For some reason, the Doctor doesn’t like Jude. Alpha John wondered if it was because Jude was a werelion. However, Dr. Ochea liked Jude’s father! So... it shouldn’t be about his kind.
"Just tonight," Dr. Ochea said. "Tomorrow, you can start the treatment. But tonight, Just give me one night to prove that he didn’t choose to stay because he wanted to get stronger. It was because he wanted to arrest us and gain another promotion."
In the end, Alpha John was forced to agree. He didn’t have any other choice as Dr. Ochea’s words were very reasonable. He was just being vigilant and Alpha John couldn’t really blame him. After all, they are currently reviewing the result of one of the most important research that they have done since they started.
....
The night was not cold as Ava had expected. Something about it felt heavy. Maybe it was the smell of the firewood that was used in her room? Or perhaps it was the fact that all she wanted was to stay in bed with Matthew and sleep with him next to her.
Ava stopped herself from being irritated.
Hey, at least Matthew was behind her, right? Though, she would still prefer if he was behind her while they were in bed.
Her thoughts made her blush!
What the fuck was she thinking? Should she do something about her brain? Being horny in the middle of doing something so important just... hits different. In the end, she sighed.
"Are you ready?" she asked.
"When you are," Matthew answered.
"Alright. I will cut the electricity... " Ava closed her eyes and touched the wire in front of her. She then sent some magick that could create some problems with the power supply before she made Matthew and her invisible. Then she teleported towards the Alpha’s study.
She wasn’t surprised to see the Alpha still in his study. After all, she expected him to work late tonight. However, she chose to come here simply because she wanted to know if there are some secret vault inside this office. Not long after, the electricity flickered. Alpha John’s face changed. He got up and went out of his study. When Ava stopped sensing his presence nearby, she immediately used her magick to seal the place. The camera was still not working so they took this opportunity to start searching his room. frёewebnoѵēl.com
It didn’t take too long for Ava to find some vault. Using magick, Ava easily gained access to the documents and files inside.
Obviously, she couldn’t just steal everything and risk exposing herself. So, she used another spell to copy everything including the hardrives and flash drives inside the vault. After that, Ava immediately put everything back and was ready to leave when Matthew suddenly informed her that there was a hidden door behind the bookshelf.
"How did you know that?" Ava said. For some reason, her magick didn’t spot this secret door.
"I can feel something inside."
"Something?"
"Close your eyes and extend your senses."
"I don’t think— "
"Just follow my words," Matthew said as he held her arm. "Calm down and extend your senses..."
Ava frowned but she complied. Slowly, she used her magick to extend her senses until she felt it! A door made of... solid rock? Was that the reason why she wasn’t able to sense it? Her senses brought her towards a dark hallway until she saw two green orbs staring straight toward her.
Then she heard someone say, "Run!"
Then Ava felt Matthew’s rough hands holding her shoulders. She felt a pull, like a strong suction.
The next thing she knew, she was already back in Matthew’s arms.
"What the hell!" Ava exclaimed. "What the hell was that?"
