Chapter 393: The Stupid Lycan 2

Ava always thought she was strong and maybe a bit indifferent. Breaking down wasn’t really something that she does.

But seeing the memories of her father somehow changed that. Right now, she had mixed emotions about the whole matter. She was somewhat angry and confused. She wanted to talk to her father and Gabriella and find out the truth about her own past.

In the end, she broke down and cried until she fell asleep in Matthew’s arms.

When she woke up, Matthew informed her that they needed to go to the other werewolves to a village where rogues are suspected to stay. At the same time, Jude also told her that today would be the start of his first treatment, which means one thing.

They needed to destroy the laboratory today.

At the same time, Ava needed to accompany Matthew to go to that village even though this was just a trap set up by the Alpha.

"He must have wanted us dead," Francheska concluded. "And make you responsible for everything. Surely, you would have to answer to the Lycans for our death. Meaning you need some supporters. Someone backing you. The perfect was just right. He wanted you to be his dog."

Jude used the napkin and dabbed it on his lips. "So... about the explosion?"

"Yes, it will still happen," Ava answered. They are having breakfast on their own in Jude’s suite room. "Just do what you need to do. Don’t worry... we will save you. However, I don’t want to tell you the details of the plan. I wanted to make sure that you are convincing enough."

"Hey! I am convincing— "

A knock on the door interrupted them before their banter could even start. The door opened and a woman wearing a made uniform walked in with a tray. Another woman wearing an all-white suit followed her inside.

"Good Morning. My name is Riane. I’m sure most of you already met me in the past. I am Alpha John’s niece and I will be accompanying the team later," she looked at Jude and then towards Matthew. "I really hope you don’t mind me being here. I just thought it would be nice to give you a brief for our trip later." She looked at Jude and then Matthew.

"Since you are having breakfast, I thought it would be nice to drop by and bring some of my favorites that you can enjoy," Riane said. She gave everyone a beautiful smile. "Is it alright if I join you?"

Ava saw Francheska open her mouth, about to respond so she quickly kicked her leg under the table. Francheska met Ava’s eyes and frowned.

The thing is, Francheska had a different upbringing and wasn’t as exposed. Ava was certain that she would say something rude to the woman. Ava gave Francheska an assuring smile. She could feel the irritation in Francheska’s eyes and she knew that Francheska must be doing her best to stop herself from insulting the woman before them.

"Sure... please take your seat," Jude said, smiling. The thing is... only four chairs were surrounding the table.

"I— " Obviously Riane’s eyes landed on Francheska and Ava. But none of the two women moved and inched. Both Francheska and Ava just met Riane’s eyes, their faces full of smiles. "I don’t see any available seat..." Riane said.

"Because there is none," Jude said. "My apologies Lady Riane. You are not expecting me to tell one of my friends to get up so you could make yourself comfortable, no?"

Riane froze.

"No. I understand that I came here without a prior invitation or announcing my visit. It’s completely my fault." Riane looked at the made. "Please get another chair for me."

"Yes, miss."

After a while, the maid arrived with a chair. And Riane joined them at the table without even showing embarrassment or awkwardness.

However, Ava knew that the woman was irritated, angry even. Despite the smiling face that was plastered on Riane’s face, she was actually fuming on the inside.

Not that Ava cared about this.

"Just as I was saying... I really hope that you have prepared yourself for the trip later. It is not that far but we cannot use any vehicle because of the terrain. So it can be quite dangerous." Riane said while looking at Matthew. "But there is no need for you to worry for your safety. All the werewolves that are coming with us are experts."

"My witch will take care of my safety Miss Riane. Thank you very much."

"Your witch?" Lady Riane looked at Ava. "I— I didn’t know that she would be coming with us?"

"She’s my witch," Matthew said before taking a sip of his coffee.

"But— "

"Does this mean that Lady Riane wasn’t aware of the history of witches and Lycans?" Ava asked. "If you want, I can tell you about the matter."

"I— of course, I know. It’s just that... I didn’t think you would actually let your witch come just for a simple expedition like this." Again, Riane looked at Matthew. She didn’t even spare Ava any glance, much less acknowledge her. All this time, she didn’t smile at both Ava or Francheska as if the two women are below her.

"You just said the terrain is dangerous. My witch would teleport me out of the place once accidents happen." Matthew said. "Isn’t that right?"

"Of course, your highness." Ava nodded.

"Well... we have carefully planned the trip just for a few people. This isn’t supposed to be a big trip. We are there to scout. The terrain might be dangerous but it is safe. Plus an additional person might put us in danger and would announce our presence to the enemies."

"There is no need to worry about that... I can just stay next to his highness while being invisible. It’s not really that hard."

"I— "

"Is there a reason why you wouldn’t want my witch to come, Miss Riane?" Matthew’s question caught Riane off guard. She stuttered. So Matthew added. "My witch will keep me safe and forbidding me from bringing her somehow made me suspicious about this matter. Should I go to talk to the Alpha about it?"

.....

The weather is very bad here. My connection is so crappy I feel like crying. But I spent my whole day studying and relaxing so yey!
