"What? No! No..." Riane shook her head. "No need to do that. She can come. I have heard stories about Lycans and their witches. However, this is my first time meeting one. Please forgive my disrespect." Finally, Riane looked at Ava. She bowed her head in shame, unaware that Ava could actually feel her emotions.
Again, Riane was pretty good at maintaining her composure and acting really nice when she was actually angry. Which of course isn’t really a problem. Perhaps she’s just a very mature person? Ava thought inwardly as she responded with a smile.
"Then, I really hope you would let Francheska come with us as well?" Ava said. "She’s strong and could easily fight. Jude said that he would have a busy day today so, I suggested that I take Francheska with us. After all, Francheska is his secretary."
"That— " Riane looked at Francheska. "Of course. There is no problem."
After the finish, their breakfast, Ava, and Matthew went back to their rooms to prepare while Riane went to see her uncle.
"You could have informed me about it," Riane said. "I couldn’t believe that you already knew about this and failed to inform me! Did you know that Matthew actually embarrassed me in front of the maids?"
"Calm down, Chika."
"Uncle, how could I calm down? This is— " Riane had tears in her eyes as she sat on the couch. She eyed Dr. Ochea who was pretending not to notice her outburst when she arrived inside the room.
Growing up, Riane had been treated like a princess in this pack. It was because her parents died when she was really young, leaving the Alpha to take care of her. At one point, she thought the Alpha is actually her father.
The fact that the Alpha didn’t have any sons or daughters somehow made her closer to the Alpha to the point that she could just throw a tantrum like this and call him uncle even if they are in front of another person like Dr. Ochea.
"How could he treat me like that?" she muttered, her face red. Until now, she could still remember the embarrassment that she had experienced earlier. Clearly, Matthew and Jude were looking down on her! They must have thought that Ava and Francheska were stronger than her just because she grew up in a pack like this!
Riane’s chest raised and fell.
The only thing that she hated the most were misogynistic assholes who always looks down on her for being a woman! Men look down on women and don’t really think that they should be given equal rights because they were born weaker! She hated them from the bottom of her heart!
"Calm down. That was intentional. I wanted them away. Just for two days. We need to perform some experiments with Mr. Caro. He has decided to join us. However, we cannot let his companions know about it. So, I told him to send his secretary away. I already expected the witch to accompany the Lycan so I didn’t have to ask her anything. All I needed to do was convince the Lycan to leave."
"So you already planned everything?"
"Well... " Alpha John shrugged.
"Uncle! How could you do this?" Riane pouted. "I know you are smart and you are someone that would plan your move ten or twenty steps ahead but please... you are letting them embarrass me! You cannot let that happen!"
"I know... I know..." Alpha John smiled. "And I apologize. However... you do know that I plan to get rid of them or at least attempt to get rid of them, right? You can do what you want." Alpha John had confidence in his voice. However, right now, he was actually pretty anxious.
The entity didn’t come back!
It has been one night since it left and until now, there were still no signs of it. What could have happened? Where did it go? Alpha John knew that the entity wanted the Lycan so much, there is no way that he would leave without the Lycan’s body!
"Alright," Riane smiled when she heard her uncle’s words.
"But you don’t have to kill the Lycan. Just make sure that he is alive. Speaking of..." Alpha John look at Dr. Ochea and the latter handed a vial of purple liquid. "That could help you."
"What is this?"
"That is going to incapacitate any supernatural and weaken the Lycan. You can put it on everyone’s food but you have to drink the antidote before you eat it. Doctor, please give her the antidote."
Again, Dr. Ochea handed her a small vial full of white tablets that looked like ordinary medicine.
"You have to give everyone the medicine... make sure that the poison won’t affect them. In the middle of the night, the rogues would then attack and... just make it look like an accident. Do you understand?"
Riane looked at the two vials then she smiled. "Of course, Alpha."
"That is completely untraceable. But you still have to be very careful about it."
"Alright."
"Hey stop smiling and look at me."
Riane looked at the Alpha.
"Do not underestimate the Lycan. You have to make sure that he was already weak before you send the signal so we could send the rogues. This is very crucial Riane."
"I know Uncle. Stop worrying about me. Am I not one of your smartest and strongest fighters?"
Hearing her response, Alpha John smiled. "Very well. You may go now. Enjoy your trip."
"I will, thank you!" Riane said as she rushed out of the room leaving the two men behind.
"How could you let a barely twenty-year-old werewolf do that?" Dr. Ochea said. "She’s too young to scheme things..."
"Come on Doctor. I have no kids. She will soon become the Alpha of this pack. She needed to learn." A different glint appeared in the Alpha’s eyes before he smiled.
Unbeknownst to them, there was still another person inside the room aside from the two of them. After Riane left, the person waited for a few seconds before she vanished and went back into her own abode. Of course, that person was Ava.
