The loud explosion reverberated inside the facility as rogues continued to run out of the small entrance that was specifically made for them. Sadly for them, it looked like Matthew wasn’t planning on giving them a chance to survive at all. A black smoke soon filled the entrance and the growls and cries of the rogues followed.
The smell of burnt flesh was thick around the area.
Soon, the cries started to fade. It was replaced by the sound of flickering fire that started to evade the area. What was noticeable was the fact that the fire wasn’t actually orange or yellow or red. It was something that shouldn’t have existed in this world.
"Tsk..." Matthew looked at the disgusting tar of the rogue that melted from his fire as he walked towards the entrance. Everything in this base, including all the data about the experiments that happened, had been destroyed. Now, all that is left to do is for him to find the rest of these bases and destroy them.
After a while, he was finally able to walk out of the underground base without stepping on any of the tar.
"What have you done?"
Matthew stopped walking and looked at the man standing not far away from him. His eyes narrowed at him. Dirty clothes, long matted hair, thin body. But this isn’t the thing that attracted Matthew’s attention. It was the man’s green orbs.
He immediately frowned as black smoke wrapped around him.
"You are not supposed to do something that would change the fate of humans." The man said, his voice still a little hoarse.
Matthew narrowed at him without saying a word. He doesn’t actually recognize the man. For some reason, his instinct told him that he had seen him before However, he couldn’t pinpoint when or where it was. frёeweɓηovel_coɱ
The man also stared at him.
A cold wind swept in between.
Then the man suddenly vanished.
Matthew looked around. Yet he knew that the man was no longer there. So, he turned and looked toward the location of the pack. Right now, he could clearly see a cloud of smoke rising up from the location of the packhouse. Ava must have already done it.
"Come....." He said.
"My lord," a dark humanoid feature appeared not far away from him.
"How was Francheska?’
"She has interrogated that woman just as you suggested. Just as you already expected, the relic that she has is a part of a bigger one. It seems that she doesn’t have the complete one."
"Are you certain about that?" he asked.
"Yes, my lord. I have traced another piece of this relic inside Alpha John’s room. It has been used as storage for memory."
"Just like Ava’s?"
"Yes."
However, Ava’s relic, the one that her father left for her is not a part of the one owned by Francheska. It was a totally different relic owned by another powerful individual... Something so similar yet different from him.
"And Drigo?"
"The chaos inside the plane increased. Lycans are fighting against each other. A revolt is expected soon."
"Good." Matthew smiled. "Let the Queen think she is winning."
"Yes my lord."
"What did you find out about Ava’s parents?" Ava was clearly not a demon or a daemon yet she had the characteristics of one. She could walk in dreams and be incredibly powerful for a human witch. Moreover, her magick didn’t come from nature just like the magick of a normal witch. Then they realized that they couldn’t find any records about her birth.
Everything about her had been faked. Even the names of her mother and father were not real.
Then he recalled Priestess Anna’s words about Ava. She shouldn’t have been born.
"Nothing. No traces. We couldn’t find anyone who recalled her father."
"No one?’
"No one."
"Interesting," Matthew said as he gestured for the dark shadow to disappear. Not long after, Matthew also vanished from where he was at.
............
Ava frowned when she saw the now vacant prison cell.
Her father left the prison!
Though, she couldn’t find any traces of magick that was used to cut the chains. The ceiling near the door had collapsed but aside from that, it looked like the explosion didn’t actually affect the prison room.
After a while, she left and found herself inside the now-collapsed underground facility. It was dark and the smell of death was thick around her. Soon, she located Jude.
He was wounded. A large piece of debris actually fell on his head, rendering him unconscious. But because of this, he was still alive. The area that would lead Jude to the exit was totally destroyed. Meaning, if Jude had continued running, he would have died as well. At least that’s what’s going to happen if Ava didn’t give him something to protect himself.
Ava used her magick to heal Jude’s wounds before she left. Once Jude wakes up and noticed that the deeper cuts on his body had been healed, he will realize that it was Ava’s work. And he would understand that Ava couldn’t take him out right now.
They needed to create a show.
A bigger one!
After that, she teleported out of the facility and went back to where Matthew and Francheska were. Earlier, she had seen what had transpired before the fight. Matthew had asked Francheska to watch her or her puppet but Francheska only tucked her safely inside the tent and then left. Ava was certain she had joined the fight.
This would be Francheska’s first official fight outside of the plane so she must have been very excited.
"Hmm?" Ava looked around the encampment or at least what used to be one. The area in front of her was not really an encampment but the remnant of a war zone! Trees were toppled, tents were ruined and bodies were everywhere.
Blood covered most of the snow and.....
"Ava!"
Ava turned around only to see a smiling Francheska.
"We’re here!"
"We?" She spotted the pitiful Riane not far away from Francheska. "What are you doing?"
"Oh, I was trying to heal her."
"Heal?"
"Yes. I melted a few of her bones so now... I am going to heal her."
Ava watched as Francheska calmly used the vial that she gave her to heal Riane. Then before her eyes, Francheska used another drop of poison to melt Riane’s finger. And the process continued. Over and over again... Francheska would melt Riane’s flesh and heal it.
"Sooo... are you ready to tell us the truth now?" Francheska was smiling at Riane. "Or do I need to— "
"I will tell you," Riane said her voice trembling, fear apparent in her beautiful eyes... "I will tell you everything!"
"Good!"
"There are three groups."
"Three? Not two?"
"No. Three. One is for the humans and witches. The others are for the shifters and the others... is focusing on the werewolves."
"So... three different groups," Francheska said. "Interesting... right?"
"We are doing the experimentation for the werewolves. My uncle is the current head of the ones located in North America. I don’t have the list of the others. I am not really involved in this experiment so... I only know a couple of things. But I will tell you everything from now on so please... stop that. Just stop that."
