Chapter 404: The Stupid Lycan 13

"What took you so long?" Jude immediately said when he heard Ava’s voice. "I thought I am going to die!"

However, just as he was about to approach Ava, he stopped walking, his face turning ugly.

"Stay away," Matthew said. He was standing just in front of Ava and Jude.

"Why are you here?"

"To save you."

"You— Why would you— I don’t need your help!"

"Funny how you thought I am willing to help you, Mr. Caro. The only reason why I am here is that I wanted to help your hand. Do you think I would let you hold her hand as you transport yourselves back to the ground?"

"Why are you being mean? I am injured!"

"You aren’t."

"..." Jude glared at him.

"Alright, you don’t have to be so mean," Ava said. "He didn’t come here to save you, he came here because he didn’t want me to touch the rogues’ body." She clarified.

"Why does it sound like your words are actually meaner?"

Ava rolled her eyes in response. She then started transporting the body of the rogues that they got from the forest. freewebnσvel.cøm

"What— are those rogues?"

Ignoring his questions, Ava approached him. "You don’t seem to be so injured." She said.

"Thank you for the help," Jude answered. He watched as Matthew used some black smoke to move the bodies and positioned them just all over the place.

Right now, Jude was still in the hallway surrounded by debris. He was not that far away from the part of the facility where he woke up.

"By the way, how did you find me?" he asked.

"It’s a secret," Ava said.

"Sometimes, I really envy people who will magick."

"Right." Of course, it is nice to think about the things that magick can do. But they fail to see the frustrations that she had when she couldn’t control her magick in the past. It was depressing and it made her wonder if she was indeed a witch. Using her magick, Ava cleared out some debris, making Matthew’s smoke seamlessly pass without any hurdle.

"Why don’t you come back to Trillium?" Jude asked.

"No."

"But you are so powerful. You could— "

"I am still Matthew’s witch, remember?"

"Still— "

"She already said no Caro." Matthew joined them. He was walking ahead of them, his gaze alert as if he was looking for something or waiting for something to pounce on them. Of course, this is understandable as they are currently in an unknown territory.

This place studies werewolves and shifters. It would be reasonable to think that a creature might come and attack them out of nowhere.

"I told you, he is being mean to me," Jude whispered.

Ava rolled her eyes again.

"Samuel is already here," she said.

"Right. Of course, he will come. You were the one who called him."

"I wanted to create a piece of even bigger news. It seems that we are going to succeed this time."

"Someone is alive nearby," Matthew said. This prompted Ava and Jude to stop talking. Not long after, they heard someone’s shout for help.

They turned and found a woman with half of her body buried under a large chuck of ceiling that must have fallen. Ava immediately used her magick to move the object.

"Mr. Caro..." the woman said when she recognized Jude. "I am one of Dr. Ochea’s assistants. He is just a few meters away from me. He is on the other side of that one— " she pointed at the pathway that had been covered with some debris that fell during the explosion. "Please help him."

"You should stop talking," Jude said, calmly. "You are bleeding."

"But what about Dr. Ochea?"

"He is a werewolf. He will be fine," Jude said. In front of other people, Jude was actually the leader of this group."

"Ava please heal her wound..." Just instructed.

"Alright. But I cannot heal everything. I have already exhausted my magick when I healed you."

"Just do what you can," Jude said.

Ava nodded and she immediately used a spell that would heal anyone’s cuts and bruises. Meaning, just enough to heal the superficial wound of the woman. This magick couldn’t heal the woman’s cracked rib of her legs.

"I will carry you," Jude said.

"But— You are the head of Caro and— " the woman eyed Ava then towards Matthew who wasn’t even paying attention to them. "If you don’t mind..."

"I do mind. So please... just let me carry you." Jude said, his tone laced with impatience. "We need to get out of here as soon as possible." The woman must have thought that Jude can just let Matthew carry another woman because he was the ’boss’. Jude could only shake his head inwardly. If he tells Matthew about it, he was almost certain that he would kill the woman.

Jude immediately carried the woman like a princess. Then they continued walking. The woman was a werewolf so her healing capabilities is stronger than that of a normal human, Jude knew that the woman would start healing soon. Plus, a weight like this isn’t really a problem for a werelion like Jude.

"Hm?" Matthew stopped walking just in front of the large chunk of debris that covered the other side of the pathway. "No one is alive on that side..." Matthew looked at the woman. "Are you certain that the doctor was here?"

"I am sure. You must have made a mistake. Dr. Ochea and the others are there. How could it be possible that no one is alive on the other side? That side is made with the thickest reinforced materials as it is one of the most important sectors. I refuse to believe that everyone died including Dr. Ochea!"

"No one is alive..." Matthew said. "But something else is there. May I know what are you studying in this part of the facility?"

The woman frowned. She looked at Jude. "I— I don’t think I can tell you."

"Alright. Jude put her down."

"What?" the woman asked. "What are you— "to her surprise, Jude followed Matthew’s order. "What are you doing?" the woman asked.
