"We cannot let the King do this!" one of the nobles shouted as the knight closed in on them. "We want to speak to the current King!"
"This requires the attention of the King!’
"Let us through!"
"Move!"
"How dare a mere knight block our way?"
"Move or we will be forced to use force!"
"We apologize but the King is currently— " one of the knights attempted to talk but was stopped when a Lycan woman slapped him in the face.
"How dare you!" the woman hissed. "Do you think there is nothing more important than my child’s life?"
"I— "
"What is going on here?" Drigo’s voice was a relief to some and a burden to most. Many of the Lycans who came here today were not the main members of the noble families. Some of them have been kicked out by their families in the past while some have left the Lycan community and have chosen to travel around the world.
Still, these people gathered here today for only one reason.
The changes that the King wanted to have.
"Your majesty..." the woman approached Drigo, tears starting to fall from her eyes. "Please .... My son had been cursed by one of our maid witches. Please give my son justice."
"What made you think that you can just come in here and demand justice?" Polin, one of the King’s assistants immediately chimed in. "How dare you assume that the King had all the time in the world to deal with your concern?"
"Your majesty... please... this only started when you declared that you want to change the laws." The woman said.
"Your majesty... she is right. Witches should not be given rights!"
"Witches were born servants! They needed to stay that way or they are going to start cursing our people!"
"Your majesty please...."
*BOOM*
A loud explosion echoed. Everyone looked at the source of the explosion and realized that there was a large hole in the King’s... study!?
Sadly, they cannot see anything else aside from the smoke that slowly covered the area.
"This is the work of a witch!" someone shouted.
"Who would dare to attack the King’s palace!?"
"Find the witch and kill it!" someone from the back shouted.
Seeing this, Drigo immediately tried to calm everyone down. That place was where the Shaman was staying! Something must have happened!
However, he had no time to even think about this now. The crowd before him started shouting, begging him to allow them to catch the witch and kill it.
Still, Drigo found these people funny. Obviously, they aren’t really here because they wanted to. Their words weren’t convincing enough. Moreover, it was pretty obvious that someone just asked them to come here.
Distraction, he thought inwardly. The real fight should be inside the study.
"Knight!" the King said. "Arrest everyone who wanted to go inside my palace!" he said. It is time to use his authority as the King of this plane. It is time to fight fire with fire.
He chuckled while shaking his head.
It’s funny how his mother thought she could easily bully him like this. Had he given her the impression that he was stupid and weak?
Just as the knights started restraining people, the witches led by the witch with blue hair walked toward them.
Obviously, this immediately riled up the group of nobles outside.
It didn’t take too long for chaos to start. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom

A few minutes ago.
"Did you really think the shield would be enough to stop me?" the woman was smirking at the Shaman. She tilted her head and lifted an eyebrow at the calm man who was sitting calmly while having his tea. He looked so languid, so relaxed.
She hated it.
She had been working for them since she was but a child. She had kidnapped and killed humans, shifters, and witches for the organization. But this is the first time that she would be facing someone as powerful as the old man.
She squinted.
"Ignoring me won’t work..." she said. "You are injured." She tightened her hand against her dagger. "So it’s better if you just give me your life!"
The man snorted. Finally, he stared at her.
"I didn’t ask them to make the shield to stop you," the Shaman said. "It is entertaining how a powerful witch like you failed to realize something..." the Shaman slowly smiled. "The shield was not to keep you out. It was to keep my secrets in...’
With that, a blinding flash filled the room. The woman instinctively closed her eyes.
*THWACK!*
The woman felt her body immediately turn cold as she felt a sharp object piercing her heart. She opened her eyes and was surprised to see the man standing close to her. The Shaman’s hand pierced her chest.
The powerful older man was smiling as he looked down and whispered.
"It was so... no one would see what I would do inside the shield."
It took the woman a couple of seconds to process what happened. The next thing she knew, the man was already holding her still-breathing heart.
She felt death rush inside her body as she stared at the man’s indifferent gaze.
He should have been weak....
He was stabbed by a devil’s dagger...
That should have made him less powerful...
But... why?
**THUD**
The woman’s body fell to the ground. And just as she closed her eyes, she thought she saw the man start eating her still-beating heart.
Seeing the woman’s lifeless body, the Shaman snorted and threw away what looked like a part of the human heart that he held earlier.
He let the fire from the fireplace swallow it, burned it, destroying whatever essence it had left. Slowly, he turned his attention to the destroyed part of the wall. This wasn’t his room but he hated staying in an open place like this.
He looked at Ava who was peacefully sleeping under his invisibility spell.
Then he sighed.
"Show yourself!" he said. "Show yourself..." he uttered for the second time. "Or I will destroy this plane and everything else inside it!"
