Rotting flesh, the experiments, Amelia and her son, and even Ulva.
Ava told Matthew everything— well most of them. She didn’t tell Matthew what happened after she started to feel dizzy while she was still in her astral body.
"Ulva is still alive?"Matthew asked.
"I think they are using her body as some sort of.... Energy source. This plane doesn’t have any electricity but they were able to use electricity because of magick." Ava said. Then she described what she saw down there.
Matthew narrowed his eyes.
"I think they wanted this plane not just because they can do whatever they want but because of the abundance of witches," Ava added. "They wanted a strong body that can use magick. Lycans cannot use magick." Maybe except for Matthew. But Matthew is definitely a different story.
"The King and Ulva were just like them," Matthew said. "But the two didn’t wish to have both strength and magick. For instance, Ulva only has magick and didn’t wish to have more strength. On the other hand, the late King chose to become a Lycan."
"The King’s body would rot because he didn’t have magick," Matthew said. "Ulva’s body doesn’t grow old because she was already a powerful witch when she possess the body. That must be the reason why they spared her. They wanted to know the secrets on her body."
Ava nodded at that. Then she observed Matthew’s reaction.
"We should get Ulva..." Ava said.
This time, Matthew turned his attention toward Ava. Not long after, he nodded.

"How can it be?" Old Patriarch de Cene paced inside his study. "Matthew was very powerful... he managed to suppress everyone with just his aura alone." He was talking to the robed man inside his study. "You said that Lycans aren’t capable of magick... I mean... I know that Lycans aren’t capable of magick but that one... the thing that he did was akin to making Magick!"
"Are you telling me that the youngest Lycan Royalty can use magick?" the man wearing a robe said. Despite the fact that his face was covered, the excitement in his voice was pretty obvious. It was as if he just discovered something so important.
"I don’t know. But— but that thing that happened there. The way he used his aura to — I cannot explain it. I know you might not believe me. I know I sound— "
"I believe you."
"Eh?"
"And you don’t sound crazy." The man in the robe said. Though he was a little upset that Matthew Graydon caught the Queen, the news about Matthew’s ability seemed to pacify his anger. Why wouldn’t it? A Lycan capable of suppressing another Lycan isn’t an ordinary Lycan.
"I have read about it before..." the old Patriarch said. "Lycans that can just suppress other Lycans. They were the Kings— previous Kings. However, that ability slowly disappeared because of the impurities of our blood. I didn’t think that I would witness something like that."
"Are you saying that this has something to do with his bloodline?"
"I do not know. Matthew only had one uncle from his maternal family. The rest were all dead. If we could only capture him..." the old de Cene muttered. "If only we have a way."
"Oh... I do."
"Hm?"
"I have an idea."
"I don’t think that’s good. You haven’t seen how strong he was."
"Strong or not... each of us has our weakness no?"
Old man de Cene nodded as he realized something. That’s right. Everyone of us has a weakness. No matter how strong, Matthew has a weakness!
"I know his weakness." Old man de Cene said.
But just as he was about to tell him what it was, the robed man suddenly disappeared. Old Man de Cene frowned.
..............
"We need to leave!" the robed man named Idwal hissed. "The barrier broke. They will arrive here in no time."
"Who?’
However, Idwal didn’t answer. Instead, he started gathering some documents and used his magick to teleport some things.
"The barrier broke? But only— "
"I know! Now we need to leave!’ Idwal said. He was well aware that they do not have the luxury of time to collect everything that they needed however, he wasn’t about to give up now. He quickly gathered all the documents and even some of the specimens and teleported them to the other base.
Without even waiting for the person who breach the special barrier that he created, he, along with the two other men wearing a robe teleported out of the laboratory. That place was pretty good. But they value their lives more than any plane. After all, they could still find another plane to occupy but once they are killed inside their current bodies, they would end up dying.
Because of this, Matthew and Ava didn’t find them in the secret lab. What they found were some random people who worked with the robed men. Since the Shaman and Drigo as well as Baba came with them, Matthew and Ava let them decide the fate of the people inside that base.
"They were in a hurry..." Ava said. Until now, she couldn’t understand what tipped them off. Why did they leave!? Was it because the Queen was captured?
"They left a couple of seconds before we arrive." The Shaman said. "And they didn’t take anything that is not from this specific floor. Meaning, they had no time to do so. They must have discovered that we were coming."
"How?" Ava asked.
"There are certain methods that they could use." The Shaman said.
"They set up a secret barrier that would alert them if someone... powerful is coming their way," Matthew answered. freewēbnoveℓ.com
"So they knew we were coming?"
"Yes," Matthew said. "As I said, this place has a large magick circle. It was the same magic circle that temporarily cut you off your body."
Ava nodded. This magick circle was connected to the forest that was made by bodies of witches. She stared at Matthew who was already staring at her. If her guess was right... the person who created this plane was the same person who created the magick circle.
But... why would he create something like that?
