Chapter 445: The King and Queen of Lycans 5

Many of the witches who received the invitation went to the plane thinking that they would see slave witches that had been working under the Lycans. They expected, chaos and Lycans trying to boot their new Queen out. So, when they saw the peaceful plane, many of them immediately thought that the Lycans were trying to fool them.

Was it a trap?

That must be it! They thought inwardly as they watched some witches approach them with refreshments.

"Ladies and gentlemen of the witch community," Drigo immediately smiled when he saw everyone’s morose faces. He walked in and nodded toward Francheska and Jude who had chosen to accompany him today. They already expected the backlash that is going to happen. The two volunteered to help out just in case they would do something dangerous.

"I am Drigo Graydon, the King’s Advisor," or the King’s slave, Drigo wanted to add but ended up smiling instead. The thing is, Matthew knew that Drigo was enjoying his job. The two might have a past of being against each other but they have now agreed to work together for the betterment of this plane.

While Drigo was still hesitant about this current setup, he had decided to just do whatever it is that Matthew asked him to do. After all, he was already doing this not for himself but for the Lycans.

"I am here— "

"We demand to see the Queen of the Lycans!"

"To call her the Queen of the strongest shifters on Earth is absurd!" a man suddenly walked in on the large ballroom hall. Clearly, he was a shifter.

"A werelion," the witch said. "I might not like your kind but this time, I would agree with your statement. She is not a Lycan. There is no need for everyone to acknowledge her as the Queen of all Lycans."

"As the strongest shifters, the Lycans have the right to decide who their Queen is," another shifter walked in. "A queen is a queen."

"She’s not a Lycan! Calling her a queen is an insult to everyone else!"

"We demand to see Ava Woods," one witch said.

"So, you are here because... you wanted to see the Queen?" Drigo asked.

"She is no Queen! She is a witch! She’s one of us and— "

"She doesn’t belong to any coven and hasn’t had any education from any of you. Why would you claim that she’s one of you!?" Surprisingly, the one who said this was an older witch who hailed from Brazil. She walked in front and narrowed her eyes toward the shifters who just arrived.

"Have you been paying taxes to the Lycans?"

"What?"

"The Lycans have imposed a new system," the witch from Brazil said. "For everyone including witches. Now let me ask you this. Did you agree to pay taxes to the Lycans?"

"Why would we— "

"Then why are you here?"

"What?"

"Since you were not paying taxes then... why is the new Queen any of your business? You do not treat the Lycans as your superior. You do not follow their rules and had been declaring yourselves as a separate kind. You do not even treat them as your royalty. So why do you care?"

"This witch is really— "

"Do you want to die, witch?"

"Alright. Stop it," Drigo said, amusement apparent in his eyes. Despite expecting the chaos, he didn’t expect that some people would still maintain their reason. They might not like what is going on, but these people knew what is right and wrong based on logic.

Isn’t that wonderful?

"The priestess has a point. The letter that we sent you— It wasn’t because we wanted your approval." Drigo said. "It was because— "

"It was because of what?"

"Are you trying to insult our intelligence?"

"What about Ava Woods!? She is a betrayer! She should be punished according to the laws of witches!"

"She should be punished for betraying her kind!"

"Ava Woods should be killed!"

"Get us, Ava Woods!"

"Ava Woods, where are you!?"

"Ava Woods should be killed!"

Hearing this, Drigo sighed. He knew that many witches really hate the Lycans, but he didn’t have an iota of an idea that they would actually do this even if they were already inside the plane owned by the Lycans.

"The Lycans have decided to accept her as the new Queen," Drigo said with a smile on his face. He actually wanted to tell everyone to just fuck off, but he ended up just telling them those words. It was much nicer to hear.

"And we will not tolerate anyone who would want to kill our Queen." This was Drigo’s way of telling everyone that he doesn’t care about their opinions. Ava Woods is the current Queen and many Nobles have accepted her. Of course, he knew that this was partly because they were just scared of Matthew.

Nevertheless, acceptance is acceptance.

A quick silence wrapped inside the hall. So, Drigo took this opportunity to add. "We invited you to come here because we wanted to show your something." He nodded and the front part of the stage transformed into a 3d presentation, courtesy of Baba’s magick.

"What is that?"

"Are you trying to change the topic? Did you think we would forget about what you— "

"The invitation was intentional. But we didn’t intend to cause chaos and more problems."Drigo said. "We didn’t intend a trap or a war." He looked at a few people. "I know many of you came here because you thought we were here to cause more problems in the supernatural world."

"Didn’t you send those invites because you wanted to provoke us? You wanted a war!"

"A war would not help us," Drigo said. "It would only further the divide, and that doesn’t really sound good, especially with the current problems that the supernatural world is facing."

"Problems?" someone asked. "Can’t you at least act like someone who had lived for more than a hundred years? Talk directly instead of talking in circles! What problems are you talking about?"

"The experimentation. The rogues and hybrids, and some powerful witches who had been targeting shifters." Drigo said. "His and Her Majesty knew that no one would believe us if we send out an invitation for an assembly to discuss this matter. So... we used the opportunity to pique your interest with some juicy gossip."

Drigo had an awkward smile on his face. To be honest, a part of him didn’t understand this type of plan. Matthew told him this was Ava’s idea. At first, Drigo thought that Matthew only agreed because he simply couldn’t say no to her. But upon more thorough analysis, he realized something.

Matthew would never do anything without a purpose. He wouldn’t do something so nonsensical, like provoking all supernaturals.

Now that Drigo had thought about it, realized that Matthew was actually using a piece of bigger news to bury another big news. It was kinda like show business. To make people forget about the controversy of his wedding, he slapped them with a piece of even bigger news!

Isn’t that a genius strategy?

It was risky, yes. But definitely genius.

"The experiments that humans and other creatures have done on your kind had been alarming," Drigo said. "Today, we will provide proof of the things that we have found out from our investigations."

Before anyone could ask questions, he clapped his hand and a 3d presentation appeared in front of everyone’s eyes.

.............

It wasn’t supposed to be like it, one of the Werewolf Alpha who arrived in the Lycan’s plane frowned as Drigo ended the presentation. He could feel the immediate change in the atmosphere as Drigo didn’t just show them proof of this experiment using pictures, but also brought the organisms that were clearly from another world.

And just as he expected, everyone’s gaze immediately changed. Confusion and fear were thick in the air. Many of them were already aware of the experiments, but they never expected the actual scope of those ’studies’.

"That’s crazy," one of the witches said. "To think that they would do that to the witches..."

The reaction was actually expected after they saw the witches that had been used as sources of energy for their experiments. The surprise and anger were pretty apparent in the witch’s initial reaction once the video ended.

"Are you saying that whoever did this came from another world?"

"We knew they came from another world," Drigo answered. Then he started explaining the concept of other realms to everyone. Again, the news created a lot of buzzes from everyone. Many of them knew about the existence of realms, but to think that other realms would want to harm the occupants of our very own realm was a little too hard to take.

Obviously, there were also questions about accessing the other realms. After all, there were also curious supernaturals who wanted to get ahold of someone who came from another realm.

But these questions were immediately shut down by Drigo’s smart answers.

"So.... Why would you tell us something like this?" one of the witches asked. "Are you trying to tell us that these people wanted to... invade our realm?"
