Chapter 96: Torture

"Surprised?" the man smirked. He looked like he was in his forties but since he was a shifter, Ava knew that the man was older than that. Shifters start to age slowly once they reach the age of twenty-five.

Now that she thought about it. Matthew should be in his thirties no? She thought she knew his age but she actually forgot to ask him.

So... let’s say he is in his thirties... Ava is twenty-six.

Should she care about the age difference?

Shifters, especially Lycans age really slow. Meaning... once Ava turned sixty, Matthew might still look like he is in his thirties!

She would look like his mom then!

The sex blinded her head!

Now that Ava thought about it. She didn’t even know Matthew’s birthday or his favorite color. She could feel the heat in her face.

However, she knew a few things about his body. She knew that he liked it when she lick the head of...

WHAT THE HELL WAS SHE THINKING?

"Miss Woods... I know it can be intimidating especially now that we were able to find out your secrets. We found the documents that you tried to hide when you applied for the position. Now I don’t..."

"What the hell are you talking about?" Ava’s eyes widened. She’s not supposed to say those words... right? She immediately cleared her throat. "I didn’t mean to say that."

The man stared at her, flabbergasted.

"You— "

"I never thought that someone would actually dare to disrespect a board member."

"A board member?" Ava frowned. She had seen images of the board member and obviously, they were all shifters. But she doesn’t remember this face.

"Ex-board member," the man corrected. "My son is now the current board member."

"Oh. Mr. Trinidad!" Ava nodded. "Right. You do look like him. I thought you just edited your photo to make yourself look younger." Again Ava covered her mouth.

She’s distracted.

And being distracted isn’t good.

Damn Matthew!

And damn his ... dxck too!

"You are not taking this seriously." Mr. Trinidad said. "I especially came here when I found out that someone from Trillium was able to work inside the company. I wanted to talk to you but it looked like you dug your own hole and actually bullied a coworker. This— "

"Who is it?" Ava’s face turned serious. She should stop thinking about that man’s dxck in the middle of situations like this. Earlier, Ava was prepared to fight and blow up some places just to prove herself to these people. But she had forgotten one thing.

This isn’t the desert. This isn’t the forest. This isn’t a place where she could act like a cavewoman and fight everyone. This is a different kind of battlefield.

And this battlefield might be as deadly as the one she had been.

"Who gave my file to you?" Ava asked.

The older man snorted. "Do you think..."

"Was it another Lycan?" Ava suddenly got up and started approaching the man. "Who?"

"You— what are doing?"

"Kieran?"

"What? How dare you call— "

"Miss Woods! I suggest you sit down and— "

"Elizabeth or Erenes? That mother and daughter pair is quite irritating." Ava continued approaching the man.

"You— stay away— "

"Miss Woods please sit down or I am calling the guards!" Mrs. Fouy yelled. And in just a few seconds, two men walked inside the room. "Please remove Miss Woods out of this building. I will talk to Mr. Graydon about it."

Ava scoffed.

"Llabeo Rala," Ava said. An invisible shield seemed to envelope the whole room. And when the guards tried to approach her, they realized that they couldn’t. The two realized that they are just walking in their places.

Ava was so near.

Yet they couldn’t reach her.

"Now... now... let’s drown the sound." Ava smiled at Mr. Trinidad. "Gravuutur..." she whispered.

"You— what are you trying to do?" Mr. Trinidad tried to get up but an invisible force pushed him back to his seat.

"You— "

"They can’t hear you. And you can’t hear them." Ava was now standing in front of the man. A table separated them. Her lips lifted into a smile. "I suggest you tell me who gave you my file or ... your family would receive your eyes... and your body without your head."

"You— "

"That sounds disgusting no?" Ava giggled. "Do you think... that I would dare to do that... Mr. Trinidad?"

The old man gulped. She sensed fear then arrogance and pride then another fear. The man couldn’t decide simply because... he had no idea how powerful Ava was.

"Or... should I... ripp you to shreds and send every part of you to your family in... let’s say... every thirty minutes?" Ava said.

"You— "

"Oh... yes..." Ava gestured at the chair. It floated towards her and she elegantly sat on it as it continued to float in the air. "I love the smell of fear."

"How dare you attack— "

"Tsk. If you call this an attack then... you should call my next move slaughter... no?" Ava snapped her fingers. A small fire appeared in her hand. "Now... let’s try this again. Shall we?" she leaned back and started playing with the fire.

"Who sent you my file?"

"I don’t know. It was anonymous."

"Oh?" Ava snorted. "And you think I would believe that. How cute."

The old man just glared at her.

"Well... let’s do this. Since you just told me something. I should tell you about some spells too. Did you know that I could make all the veins in your body explode? I could break every bone inside your body and you would faint from the pain. But I won’t let you die. No. I can heal you... Then do it all over again." She snorted. "How does that sound for torture?"

"Alright... stop it."

"Hm?"

"Stop it. I will tell you." Mr. Trinidad had beads of sweat on his forehead. His face was pale, his hand clenched into tight fists. "De Cene." Mr. Trinidad said. "Almeru’s people sent it."
