Chapter 402 Demon Realm Constable

A gentle breeze blows, and the branches on the tree sway in unison, as if a tree full of flowers has suddenly bloomed, or as if a tree full of yellow butterflies is fluttering, truly captivating the eye.

After stopping the car, the constables ignored Wang Yao and hurriedly carried the critically ill woman out of the back seat. They then knocked on the small wooden door and went inside.

However, not long after he went in, he suddenly rushed out through the small door, clutching his tall hat with both hands. Wang Yao saw an old demon with a white beard chasing after him, shouting and cursing in a fit of rage.

"You son of a bitch Ni Fa! You're always causing me trouble, and now you've brought me a female corpse again? This isn't a morgue, so get the hell out of here!" The old devil was quick, grabbing the constable by the back of the neck.

“Old Master Gao, the whole city of Jinxiu is undergoing physical examinations right now. Where do you expect me to send her? We can’t just leave the corpse on the street, can we?” The constable struggled to explain, adjusting his tall hat.

"I don't care, send it back to where you got it. If the deceased's family comes, I'll have to waste so much more breath!" The old devil still held onto the constable tightly.

“I originally wanted to bring her here for treatment, but now that she’s dead, who cares about anything else? Just put the body in your freezer for now, and when someone reports her missing to the police station, call them to come and identify the body. If no one claims it within fourteen days, just take it to the crematorium and cremate it.”

"Please have mercy, it's not much trouble to send him to the crematorium from here anyway." The constable struggled to maintain the standoff with the old demon.

"Do I think it's too much trouble to send her to the crematorium? I think it's too much trouble to explain to her family! A demon died here, how am I supposed to explain this to her family? What the hell are you doing if not trying to harm me?" The old demon kept pulling the constable toward the wooden door.

"Old Master Gao, what's the point of him explaining anything now that he's dead? Just push the blame onto me, and let's see who dares to cause me any trouble!"

"I brought her here and everyone on the street witnessed it. I just wanted to save her life. I thought you didn't have any medical examinations to do here, so you wouldn't just let her die. Now that she's dead, do you think you can blame me?" The constable and the old devil were locked in a battle of wills, neither of them giving an inch.

The old demon, after dragging the constable without moving and listening to his words, finally sighed and let go.

"Aren't you afraid the deceased's family will cause trouble at your Nangang police station? Aren't you afraid your head constable will use this as an excuse to come looking for trouble with you again?" the old devil asked unwillingly.

"I act with integrity, what's there to be afraid of? It's better than those beasts who would stand by and watch someone die! That son of a bitch Liang dares to mess with me, but I'm too lazy to do something so unethical. I might as well join the army and have a good fight with those false gods." The constable said nonchalantly.

"You fucking bastard! Of all times, you had to say something like 'joining the army'? You just remember this: only say that the woman was alive when she was brought here. You don't need to worry about anything else. I'll handle the rest."

Upon hearing that the constable intended to join the army, the old demon's expression immediately changed, and he actually began to teach the constable how to deal with his superiors' questioning.

"Old Master Gao, I knew you were the best. Ni Fa understands. Thank you, sir." The constable beamed and repeatedly clasped his hands in thanks to the old man.

"Damn it, get the hell out of here! If it weren't for the fear of Bian becoming a widow, do you think I'd want to bother with your nonsense?" The old devil glared fiercely at the constable and cursed.

The constable didn't take it to heart. He thanked the old demon profusely for a while before smilingly climbing into the police car amidst the old demon's barrage of words. As soon as he got in, he was surprised to find Wang Yao still sitting perfectly fine in the passenger seat.

The constable stared at Wang Yao for a while, but didn't waste any words with him. Instead, he drove the police car forward and soon turned out of the alley and onto the main road of the city. After driving a short distance, a magnificent modern building appeared on the right side of the road.

The colorful trees along the roadside, arranged in a neat and orderly fashion, break off here. A long electric gate lies between the trees. The police officers drive their police car to the electric gate, and the gate slowly opens.

Wang Yao discovered that behind the electric gate was a large patch of black trees resembling plum trees, with black branches that stretched out menacingly, making the surrounding atmosphere unconsciously gloomy.

The constable parked the car under a black tree and gestured for Wang Yao to get out with him. He led Wang Yao through the woods toward the modern building.

In front of the building is a sculpture of a large hand with a clenched fist. Through the gaps between the fingers of the large hand, some ugly little figures are sticking out half of their bodies, howling and struggling. Below the sculpture is a line of large characters: "Nangang Police Station, Jinxiu City".

After bypassing the sculpture, Wang Yao followed the constables into the building and found it empty, as if no one was at work. He guessed the constables were all outside supervising the city-wide health check.

The constable led Wang Yao directly into a small office on the second floor, gesturing for him to sit down at an unusually messy table. He then took off his tall hat and threw it on the table, loosened several buttons on his uniform, and sat down opposite Wang Yao.

"Can you write?" the constable asked, staring at Wang Yao.

Wang Yao nodded.

"Fill out this form. We've been very busy these past few days and haven't had time to look after you. If you have a place to stay in Jinxiu City, just fill out the form and go back on your own. If not, I'll give you the address of a shelter in a bit. You can stay there for a while, but I don't recommend you go."

Seeing that Wang Yao could understand him, the constable seemed relieved. He lifted the tall hat on the table, rummaged through a pile of papers and found a form. He glanced at it briefly himself, and then handed the form to Wang Yao.
