What audacity! A barbarian race, still uncivilized and living like animals, dares to threaten the ruler of a nation! Fine, let's fight then! I'm not afraid of you anymore!
The Dark Emperor snorted and said, "Dragon Emperor, in this war, your Three Flower Legion suffered countless casualties and is now practically extinct. What do you plan to use to resist my powerful army? Dragon Emperor, I advise you to be pragmatic and recognize the current situation. Don't be stubborn and suffer for the sake of saving face. Just obediently guard your Star River Empire and eke out a living."
Having said all that, there's no other way but to endure or to fight.
...
In a single day, the people of Sacramento suffered several shocking blows.
The ultimate weapon, Alpha, has self-destructed.
"Star Lord, are you just going to destroy Alpha like this?" Jin Xin's heart ached. That was a special mecha, not a cabbage on the street that you could pick up anywhere.
The screen hanging in mid-air was filled with static, and occasionally the image would freeze.
A colossal mech swooped down, its steel body glowing a fiery red. From a distance, it looked exactly like a giant fireball descending from the sky. The fireball roared, and wherever it passed, white clouds turned into vapor, and the scorching heat distorted space, creating a disorienting sensation of space being torn apart.
With the speed and power of Alpha's attack, Sacramento was shattered into pieces before it could even unleash its full power. Ji Xiaoxiao was resolute and decisive. Since it couldn't be used by her, what was the point of keeping it? She might as well self-destruct and end it all, to avoid further devastation in Sacramento.
At the end of the scene, a blinding white light shines on the earth, so bright that people can't open their eyes.
"Star Lord, this is such a waste."
Jin Xin couldn't bear to look at him, so he turned his head away, his face full of disappointment and frustration.
"Spendthrift woman."
Jin Xin nearly lost his temper, angrily pointing at Ji Xiaoxiao's nose and cursing loudly.
Ji Xiaoxiao clapped her hands and said, "Alright, we've won! Everyone get back to work. Post-battle recovery will require your efforts."
After the great battle, Ji Xiaoxiao felt completely relieved.
For a general, strategizing within the command tent and deciding victories a thousand miles away, seemingly secure and safe within the camp, free from all danger, is in reality like an ox carrying a heavy load, suffering immensely. The slightest carelessness in issuing commands—too fast or too slow—can lead to disastrous consequences.
Two days later, Ji Xiaoxiao received definite news that the Dark Starman and Long Aotian had given up and retreated.
"Star Lord, should we press our advantage?" Jin Xin asked coldly.
The most effective way to solve a problem is to nip it in the bud and eliminate it at the root.
Ji Xiaoxiao lowered her eyes and pondered for a moment before saying, "Although Sacramento won, he paid a huge price. With our current strength, we are not capable of completely eliminating Long Aotian and the Dark Star People."
Eat your food one bite at a time, do things one step at a time, and walk your path one step at a time. Don't be impatient, or you'll regret it.
After thinking it over, Jin Xin was convinced and never mentioned the matter again.
"John hasn't arrived yet?" Ji Xiaoxiao kept glancing at the door, but the handsome guards remained as steadfast as mountains.
Jin Xin bent over, picked up the teacup on the coffee table, took a small sip, and smoothly concealed the fleeting panic and helplessness on his face.
“John has been quite busy lately, so he might be a little late,” Jin Xin advised. “Star Lord, you’ve been working hard these past few days, why don’t we come back in a few days?”
"No need," Ji Xiaoxiao waved her hand.
John finally arrived after another three hours.
"Is busy John here?" Ji Xiaoxiao joked.
John casually wiped the sweat from his forehead and face; his flushed face had a healthy glow.
"Lord Star, please have mercy and spare me."
Ji Xiaoxiao was carefree, but what about him? He was in charge of the post-war reconstruction. He racked his brains to devise the strategic deployment for the reorganization of the Sacramento satellite defense system. He even handled the disposal of the Alpha wreckage. He was just an ordinary strategist in the think tank; even if he were the reincarnation of an omniscient and omnipotent God, he wouldn't be able to handle it.
John sat down to rest for a few minutes, and the heat on his body dissipated considerably.
"I called you all here today because I want to talk to you about something," Ji Xiaoxiao said sternly. "Jin Xin, you're from Sacramento, aren't you?"
Jin Xin didn't understand, but he still nodded in agreement.
"Really?" Ji Xiaoxiao turned to John. "And what about you, John?"
“Lord Star, ever since I followed you, I can only be a man of Sacryton.”
"Did you follow me, or Jin Xin?" Ji Xiaoxiao asked inexplicably.
"Star Lord".
"Mother."
John and Jin Xin said in unison.
"I won't pursue your past, but put away all those inappropriate thoughts. From now on, remember this: you are Sacramento's people, so stop thinking about those things."
Ji Xiaoxiao glared fiercely at Jin Xin and the other man.
"Now, put down what you're doing and prepare to complete a task."
