Chapter 60 Apocalyptic Zombies Turn to Goodness (Part 9)

The door opened silently, and the faint rhythm of a DJ spinning records could be heard outside. The unique cacophony of the crowd was incredibly lively. Men and women closed their eyes, waved their arms, and twisted their bodies, sweating profusely.

A handsome man stood by the door, holding a large teddy bear, unmoved by anything around him, staring expressionlessly at Ji Xiaoxiao. With each step the man took, the teddy bear's two little feet dragged along the ground, making it look both pitiful and adorable, drawing smiles from everyone.

"Hmm, okay... Hey, Cheng Gui, what are you doing here? Oh, right, it's you... Pfft, haha, what an adorable teddy bear, Cheng Gui, let me pet it." Ji Xiaoxiao turned her head following the voice, her eyes sparkling, drooling over the teddy bear in the man's arms.

The man smiled and hugged the teddy bear even tighter. "It's mine, and I'm not Mo Chenggui, I'm his twin brother Mo Shoucheng."

"Mo Shoucheng?" Ji Xiaoxiao put away her bright smile, carefully observed and sized up Mo Shoucheng, and murmured to herself.

Tall and slender, pale-faced, handsome, and with a dignified air, Mo Shoucheng was exactly the same as Mo Chenggui, except for the teddy bear in his arms that was ruining his image. "You're really not Mo Chenggui? Not only do you look the same, but you two are also exactly alike in other ways, like there and here." Ji Xiaoxiao gestured with her hands.

"I can't help but doubt my decision now. Are the eyes on your face just for show? Do I look exactly like Mo Chenggui? Is your brain filled with tofu? You good-looking but useless idiot, how did you come to such an absurd conclusion? I don't know what image Mo Chenggui has in your mind, but please don't compare me to that kind of trash." Mo Shoucheng's face was displeased, and when he mentioned Mo Chenggui, there was a vicious and ruthless hatred in his eyes, as if he wanted to devour Mo Chenggui alive.

Ji Xiaoxiao retreated instantly, but her legs gave out. You tripped me up, I'll set a trap for you. Her two feet got tangled together, and with a thud, Ji Xiaoxiao fell flat on her back, crying out in pain.

"If I had known beforehand that you were this kind of woman, I would have truly regretted deciding to marry you." Mo Shoucheng strode to the sofa, tossed the teddy bear onto it, and then jumped onto it, lounging lazily in its soft comfort.

"Ignore those words about 'this kind of woman' for now. When did I ever say I wanted to marry you?" Ji Xiaoxiao looked up blankly, speechless at the thought of becoming a haggard housewife who was about to do laundry and cook.

"While you were unconscious, I thought you looked alright, so I decided on a whim for you." Mo Shoucheng rubbed Teddy's ears and said casually, as if it were as ordinary and natural as eating and drinking.

"Aren't you going to ask me if I'm willing?" Ji Xiaoxiao took deep breaths, trying to suppress the rising anger in her heart.

"Ask you? Why should I ask you? I'll decide my own affairs. I'm not a three-year-old who needs to consult his parents before getting married." Mo Shoucheng didn't treat Ji Xiaoxiao like a human being at all. In his eyes, Ji Xiaoxiao was probably... no, absolutely not even worth a single hair on a teddy bear.

"And what about me?" Ji Xiaoxiao pointed to herself.

"Why are you getting involved? What business is it of yours that I'm getting married? Go cool off somewhere else." Mo Shoucheng waved his hand.

How can we communicate normally when our brainwaves are not on the same frequency?

"Why did you get married?" It would be better for everyone if he just stayed single and lived a lonely life. The inferiority complex that would drive the person with him to suicide would be absolutely devastating.

“A successful man has his own career, a beautiful wife, and a good brother.” Mo Shoucheng had to explain to Ji Xiaoxiao instead of talking to himself. “I have a career, and I also have a good brother who was foolishly turned into a zombie by me. Now all I need is a beautiful wife.”

Mo Shoucheng stared intently at Ji Xiaoxiao until Ji Xiaoxiao felt her scalp tingle, her face flush, and her heart race. Only then did Mo Shoucheng say nonchalantly, "Although you're not very good-looking, don't worry, I absolutely won't mind."

Relying on the fact that Mo Shoucheng was Mo Chenggui's brother, Ji Xiaoxiao retorted sarcastically, "Once upon a time, there was a pancake seller. He had his own business, a beautiful wife, and a good brother who would do anything for him, but he died a tragic death in the end..."

"From what you're saying, it seems you don't want to marry me." Mo Shoucheng got up, arranged Teddy Bear properly, and then sat upright on the sofa, crossing his legs and placing his hands on his thighs.

Ji Xiaoxiao quickly shook her head, and Mo Shoucheng said helplessly, "I originally planned to reluctantly marry you because of Mo Chenggui's groveling. Now it seems that you are going to ruin Mo Chenggui's good intentions."

"Someone, take her to the underground research lab." Ji Xiaoxiao couldn't become Mo Shoucheng's wife, so Mo Shoucheng turned his back on her and sent her away.

"Research lab?" Ji Xiaoxiao's unease flashed like a shooting star.

At Mo Shoucheng's command, many people poured into the room. Ji Xiaoxiao neither dodged nor hid; with the power of the White Lotus Holy Technique, she was more than capable of dealing with these ordinary people. "Tell me, where is Cheng Gui?"

"I'll take you there right now!" Mo Shoucheng gave a signal, and three burly men stepped forward and grabbed Ji Xiaoxiao.

Just as Ji Xiaoxiao was about to use her internal energy to shake the person away, she discovered that her dantian was blocked and her meridians were not flowing smoothly, so she could not use her internal energy. Now she was even weaker than an ordinary person. Thinking about it carefully, she realized that she had been careless.

The "White Lotus Sacred Technique" was useless for saving her life. Ji Xiaoxiao was obedient and compliant in the man's hands, carefully considering the current situation. Her main task was to protect Mo Chenggui, who was currently in the research lab that Mo Shoucheng had mentioned, and she had to go there no matter what.

"You despise tradition, so why are you reluctantly marrying me out of respect for him? Mo Shoucheng, who are you lying to?" Ji Xiaoxiao pointed out the contradictions in Mo Shoucheng's words.
