Chapter 822 Jade Pool Immortal Herb

Time passed slowly in anxious waiting, each day feeling like torture. Finally, one morning a few days later, the messenger returned with the Ghost Doctor.

Xu Yuehuai said urgently, "Come quickly and see what's wrong with the child?"

The Ghost Doctor immediately stepped forward to take Qi Zi'ang's pulse, his expression growing increasingly serious as he looked at him. He sighed softly, "This illness is no small matter; only the Immortal Herbs of Yaochi can cure it."

As soon as he finished speaking, Qi Guze said without hesitation, "Then let's go find the Jade Pool Immortal Herb!"

At this moment, his eyes were as firm as a stone, without any hesitation or retreat.

Qi Guze's men immediately intensified their search for the Jade Pool Immortal Herb. However, even after searching every corner, they still couldn't find the precious herb.

This left Qi Guze feeling extremely disappointed and helpless, as he knew that only the Jade Pool Immortal Herb could save his son.

At this time, the Ghost Doctor concocted some medicine for Qi Zi'ang. This medicine temporarily stabilized Qi Zi'ang's condition, but the little guy still did not wake up.

Looking at his son lying quietly on the bed, Qi Guze was filled with anxiety and worry. Xu Yuehuai was also very anxious. She asked the Ghost Doctor, "Zi'ang, what exactly is wrong?"

The Ghost Doctor was silent for a moment, then said, "I have never seen this kind of illness before, but I have heard my master say that his condition is due to being unaccustomed to the surrounding environment."

Xu Yuehuai was shocked. "What?"

The Ghost Doctor explained, "Simply put, he is allergic to things like air and dust in the environment."

Xu Yuehuai staggered, feeling as if her heart had been struck by a heavy hammer. She thought that perhaps it was all her fault.

If she hadn't been a being from another time, perhaps he wouldn't have turned out this way. She felt extremely guilty and remorseful, and tears streamed down her face.

Qi Guze was also in great pain. Looking at his son, he was filled with guilt and self-blame. He felt like a failed father, unable to even protect his own son.

But they couldn't give up. They had to do everything they could to save their son.

So they sought the Ghost Doctor's help again, hoping he could concoct better medicine to help Qi Zi'ang. The Ghost Doctor did his best, studying Qi Zi'ang's condition and concocting more medicines to try and treat him.

However, the medications did not have much effect, and Qi Zi'ang's condition remained unchanged. Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze felt increasingly desperate, their hearts filled with grief as they looked at their son lying in bed.

They didn't know what to do; they felt their hearts were being torn apart.

Qi Guze sat on a large mahogany chair, his face cold and his eyes as deep as the sea. He asked his subordinates, "Have you still not found the whereabouts of the Jade Pool Immortal Herb?"

The subordinate cowered and answered, "No." The subordinate, named Li Er, was short and pale. He knew Qi Guze's methods well, so his voice trembled slightly when he answered, clearly showing some fear.

Qi Guze's eyes grew even colder. "I'll give you three more days. If you can't find him within three days—" He paused, seemingly giving Li Er time to prepare, "you should know the consequences."

His voice was flat, yet it sent chills down Li Er's spine. Qi Guze was a ruthless man; his cruel methods instilled both awe and fear in his subordinates.

Suddenly, a subordinate rushed in, breaking the tense atmosphere. The man knelt before Qi Guze, "Master, our men have found the whereabouts of the Jade Pool Immortal Herb!"

Qi Guze's eyes lit up. "Where is it?"

"That man said he had seen it many times in Dongsang Kingdom ten years ago."

Xu Yuehuai walked over and said in surprise, "Dongsang Kingdom? Does that mean we have to go to Dongsang Kingdom?"

The Kingdom of Dongsang is a mysterious land, said to hold endless treasures and wondrous adventures.

The Ghost Doctor also came over, and when he heard the name Dongsang Kingdom, a barely perceptible glint flashed in his eyes. "Dongsang Kingdom! It's been so long since I've been back!"

The Ghost Doctor is a legendary healer, but also a master of poisons. His medical skills are superb, but he has an eccentric personality and unpredictable whereabouts. He seems to have a special affection for the Eastern Sang Kingdom, which both Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze find somewhat strange.

Qi Guze looked at the two of them, a hint of doubt flashing in his eyes. But he didn't say anything, only calmly instructing, "In that case, make preparations, we'll set off tomorrow."

Thus began the journey to the Kingdom of Dongsang.

When Xia Sen and the little princess heard that Qi Guze and Xu Yuehuai were going to Dongsang Kingdom, they immediately gathered around.

"Sister, I want to go to Dongsang Kingdom too!" Xia Sen said with a determined look.

“Me too!” the little princess said without hesitation.

Xu Yuehuai looked at them, a hint of worry flashing in her eyes, "The future is uncertain now, so you two shouldn't go. Stay here with Zhou Wan and keep an eye on the Tianxianglou branch until we come back."

Xia Sen wanted to say something more, but Qi Guze said calmly, "Don't make Yue Huai worry."

Left with no other choice, they had to agree.

The next day, Qi Guze and his group, along with the unconscious Qi Ziang and the Ghost Doctor, boarded a carriage. The carriage slowly drove out of the capital and headed towards the Eastern Sang Kingdom.

Inside the carriage, Qi Guze and Xu Yuehuai sat opposite each other, while Qi Ziang lay on a soft couch next to the Ghost Doctor.

Qi Guze looked at Xu Yuehuai, a hint of tenderness flashing in his eyes, "Don't worry, with me here, I will definitely protect you."

Xu Yuehuai smiled slightly, "I know."

The two exchanged a smile, and the atmosphere in the carriage instantly became more relaxed.

Outside the carriage, Qi Guze's guards stood watch around him, checking the road conditions ahead.

Under the warm spring sunshine, Qi Guze and Xu Yuehuai's carriage slowly drove across a desolate area bordering Wuling Kingdom and Dongsang Kingdom.

The world outside the carriage seemed completely different from the quiet and peaceful atmosphere inside. On a desolate plain, there was only the sound of the wind blowing through the weeds and the occasional roar of wild beasts in the distance.

Suddenly, a commotion broke the tranquility. Xu Yuehuai gently lifted the carriage curtain, her bright eyes gazing outside.

A group of burly men with their sleeves rolled up high were arguing on the wasteland. Their faces were covered with the dust of their labor, yet they were arguing heatedly.

Xu Yuehua listened carefully and realized that they were arguing about next year's planting plan. Everyone insisted on their own point of view and seemed to think that their choice was the best.

Xu Yuehuai looked at them, a smile playing on her lips. She said to Qi Guze, "I'd like to go over and say a few words to them."

A hint of doubt flashed in Qi Guze's eyes, but he simply responded with a faint "hmm," his hand gently protecting Xu Yuehuai as if he were guarding everything about her.
