Chapter 39 The feeling of home



Chen Shuning didn't care what others thought. She sent vegetables because they all lived in the same courtyard, and there were indeed a few old educated youths worth associating with. As long as they appreciated her kindness, that was enough. Whether a few individuals appreciated it or not was not within her consideration. She couldn't throw away the whole pot of soup because of one bad apple.

Of course, if there really were rat droppings in the soup, Chen Shuning certainly wouldn't care about the whole pot of soup.

Because it was already getting dark and there were too many mosquitoes in the yard, the two of them ate their meal inside.

At the dinner table, everything from the dishes and pancakes to the soup received high praise from He Chaoyang. He even ate more than a dozen pancakes the size of his palm.

The dishes were also completely devoured, except for the large pot of stew which was too much to finish. Even the stir-fries and salads were eaten clean, and He Chaoyang drank two large bowls of soup.

Both of them were young, and although they were a little awkward at first, they got along very well as they chatted. The meal lasted for more than an hour. If Chen Shuning hadn't been so tired, He Chaoyang would have liked to chat with the young girl a little longer.

However, He Chaoyang is definitely a good comrade. After finishing his meal, he took the initiative to wash the dishes.

Although Chen Shuning was very tired, she originally planned to put the dishes into the dishwasher in the space after everyone went to sleep at night.

But now that she saw it, she couldn't let the guests do the work while she rested, so she resigned herself to helping fetch water, drying the dishes and chopsticks that He Chaoyang had washed, and keeping him company.

The scene of the two working and chatting in the kitchen was originally quite warm, but someone just didn't know any better. When Chen Shuning put the bowls and chopsticks away in the cupboard, just as she was about to ask He Chaoyang if he wanted something to drink,

A weak but clearly deliberately raised voice rang out from outside Chen Shuning's small house: "Hey Shuning, what's with a man in your house so late? What are you doing?"
